  1. Took my Franken TC (gen dial, crystal and insert) to town and had chance to compare it with a 2006 sub in a second hand shop selling at £4495, I have to say it was visually impossible to tell a difference (ok maybe te slight lip between crown and bezel is more prominent on the TC) obviously the gen sels were a perfect fit (but in a couple of weeks when my v3 arrives that will be sorted! )

Oh and maybe a gen crown if I can find one!

  2. Josh 5513 127$

    Ingod44 dial 130$

    Gen crown 60-70$

    Clark tube 17$

    Ofrei or Yuki pearl 24$

Josh's insert is usable, just age it.

    Clark T19 service crystal 10$

    Open lugholes for 2mm bars

    2mm springbars 6$

What hands would you recommend to fit the Asian movement if one was to buy an Ingod dial with white markers?

  3. Heres my Franken po.

So far it has gen dial, hands, eta dw, he valve, crown and tube.

The gen crystal arrived last week, I took this quick snap to show how it will look over the dial (when I manage to source a rep gasket!)

It appears to be the new style crystal with a more subtle blue hue to it. I have to say I like it. Bezel will be ordered later this month and maybe some gen endlinks or a rubber strap.

What do you think so far?

  4. I kind of remember reading somewhere that you have to use the rep gasket rather than the gen gasket. Maybe you can do a search or one of the experts can chime in.

A crystal press is very cheap, around $10 as I recall. If you have a Harbor Freight store near you, they sell them.

Ah I thought it was the other way round and that a gen gasket would be required, can any Franken 42mm po owners confirm?

  5. Im in the process of installing gen crystal to my po. In reinstalling the movement, I now have a problem with the winding/stem

When the crown is pulled out it works fine, date setting works well as does winding (although a little noisy when winding) then when I push the crown to screw down I can hear the movement still winding until the crown is tight against the case.

My sub with the same movement doesn't have this issue.

Any ideas or tips from the experts? Thanks

  6. I think the engraving is standard on all 16610's.

The other option is to buy another case from TC with engraving, remove the rehaut engraving yourself then swap your era and bezel etc into it. Perhaps you could then sell the non engraved mid case to recoup costs? I know it sounds like a pain but the construction and de construction of the sub is simple. It's like a Lego set!
