  1. Hey guys! The past year hasn't been too great for me too, but I'm still here and still lurking! It is good to see many of you still here and contributing for guys like me and it's good to see some of the old veterans coming back. I too would like to see Victoria back here as she added a "different" layer to this place. I really hope she's doing well somewhere out there. Like Hike said, this WILL be a GREAT year!!! :drinks:

  2. it's a beast. i would try one on at a local ad first if you can. although i really liked mine (see below), i ended up selling it because it was simply too big. good luck!

Thanks wheaton. I did get a quick "try on" at a local AD and I really liked it. Needless to say I'm pulling the trigger. Thanks guys. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  3. Hey guys,

I've been taking a break from watches recently, but I thought I might take the plunge on a few that I've had on my short list. One of them is the Ploprof 1200M. Can anyone bring me up to speed on this one? Last I heard there is a version 2 of this. Is that true? And, if so, what are the things to watch for and who's got them available? Thanks in advance!

  4. spot on about the crown not closing evenly or the dial moving when pulling out the crown? or both?

p.s. the alamo!!??? I'm not from texas! The battle of the alamo was about independence of Texas from mexico! At which point, texas won, and became a Nation. It is the only state within the united states to have also been it's own country. :)

Interesting discussion regarding the history of some US states. I recently came upon this info and was a bit surprised, but there were actually 3 US states that were their own republic. 1. Texas, 2. Vermont and 3. California. I thought I just throw that in there. :D

  5. Hmm... this is very subjective, but I'll say Rolex Daytona. From what I recall the watch starts out at something like $20k and goes up from there. You can't scream more "status watch" than that. Well, you can but how many people will seriously believe that you're wearing a $100k+ watch on your wrist at a club without you having valet'd your Ferrari. :victory:

  6. I owned one about 4 years ago and that one ended up in my hands via a trade. IMHO, the watch is a great piece and is certainly an eye catcher. Here are a few point from my memory.

    1. the bracelet is not up to the quality/craftmanship of the watch and was a bit of a let down. The rubber wasa better alternative

    2. also on the bracelet the watch was a bit top heavy and, for me, not too comfortable to wear

Unfortunately, it didn't stay too long with me, but I can say this the watch is QUALITY. So much that I never felt too comfortable wearing around anywhere. Especially, if I was headed to a bar/club/party/etc. Hope that helps a bit.
