  1. Thank you Z.. been awhile brah.. good to see ya...

One issue I might mention.. the bracelet is a little sharp around the edges.. needs some attention there.. but the weight to the MMD rep. is substantial.. good balance on the wrist..

for the price I'm very pleased the gearing feels smooth through the crown.. Asian clone.. so we'll see how it keeps time over the next month .. non stop PR.. B)

if it keeps in sync with the Asian clones on my other reps of recent purchase it should be fine.. fingers crossed..

edit add: the lume is quite interesting.. got to view the gen before I comment..

Hey Lani. Good to see you too brah!

Yes, I haven't been participating like I'd like to much of late, but I've been around. Mostly to lurk and drool on the awesome pieces you and many of other post up. LOL My optometrist keeps telling me to get a bigger computer screen or get another hobby. Yes, I've got that 24" LCD coming this week. :)

Keep up to the awesome work Lani! It's much appreciated.

  2. Like a good buddy of mine used to say, "I don't give all my money to the bars because I'm an alcoholic. I give them all my money so I have a place to go". ;)

I wouldn't want to picture a world where we don't have a place like this to just hang out, meet great people, learn new things, contribute and enjoy this addiction umm... I mean hobby.

  3. I too liked the Buran Stingrays when I first saw them. Looked like a "Russian" type of watch with Swiss craftmanship. Then I, unfortunately, found out that it also comes with a "Swiss" price tag. :( Bummer, I would consider a Buran if it were in the $1k price range. As it is though, it's priced too high for what it is IMHO.

  4. I'm never a person to refuse a friendly hello or a goodbye, but I'm a little confused about the manner in which you present it. Either way, good luck wherever your travels take you.

BTW, I say goodbye to this affliction... umm hobby every night, but it's weird because it's there when I awake. Sorta like a wife... LOL

  5. This is a good post and I agree with a lot of it. And said same could have been accomplished if Gerneral Colin Powell had run and won. He sure as hell would have had my vote. In the booth and of confidence.

I don't think anyone in this thread is begrudging President Obama for who he is and what he's accomplished. I think the rub lies in who he isn't and what he has yet to accomplish in execution of duty to the office he holds before he lays on the brocade of "Peace Maker". The blind faith of the masses to a quasi 'Second Coming' is not of his doing. It's a pony trick that has taken on a life of it's own. Aside the man.

"Yes we can" is not a plan of action and "Hope" is not a destination.

To suggest this web site is an irreverent cover for bigotry and racism is not right, nor is it accurate. The membership wouldn't stand for it, nor would the Administration allow it. One of the reasons I come here is to find a refuge from what you're talking about Kevin. I could honestly give a toss about watches in a grander scheme.

If you try real hard, you can see an ocean where a forest stands. That's an individual's perspective not a truth.

I agree with you there Demsey. I think most here are just dissapointed with the decision of the Nobel prize committe than anything else. Personally, I grew up with high regard for the prize and those who "earn" it. It's quite dissapointing to see what it has become today. I think the general consensus will agree with my statement here, no matter what their political stance, etc. Now, back to watches gentlemen...

  6. Wow, if what everyone has said so far is true, then I nominate 50 Cents for the award. He's brought more smiles to inner city kids than Obama, I'm sure!!!

Now back to reality... I'm more than shocked that they would award this to Obama. I won't get into the politics of it all, but it just seems to me that this is the way of the world these days. It's not about accomplishments that earn rewards, but just showing up. Sure, trying deserves a pat on the back, but this is just over the top IMHO.

  7. Unfortunately, in that price range that you mention none of the watches you listed will be attainable in a new form. You might have some luck in a clean used iteration, but in that price range I'd highly recommend either a new Omega Seamaster Professional or a slightly used Omega Planet Ocean. I've owned both and still own the PO and I don't think you can go wrong with either. Good luck.
