  1. I will leave it and enjoy the watch if I were you.

The existing dial looks like EL's which is the best IMHO.

This old EL's dial was meant for PAM001 B series with L Swiss L but I think the previous owner has sent it off to turn it into PAM001A by further modding the dial with vintage lume and coverting L swiss L to T swiss T.

There is alot of precise work involve and BTW, some gen PAM001A has unveven lume applied too.

DSN's PAM001A dial is the next best option but the groove surrounding the numerals and indices are a turn off and also the Text font, size and position used on the dial are incorrect. It is especially obvious seen at T Swiss T

Best route is to go for Pre-A 001, DSN's Pre-A 001 dial is quite good. But it will be better if you can get hold of FDG's version Pre-A 001 dial. Remember to get the correct caseback from DSN if you want to go this route as Pre-A 001 caseback is different from PAM001A/B.

    Good luck and have fun

  2. I tried Takashi's (aka 2geeks) sapphire crystal for my Pre-As and am quite please with the result. Not forgetting to mention that his asking price is rather reasonable.

    Here's the pic ...

For 44mm crystal, I think Takashi's crystal is recommended.

  3. Top class watch Jitai and thanks for the kind words - always a pleasure to help Cheers Simon

Hi Simon,I really enjoy wearing this watch. My friend who is a hard cored pam fan is speechless when I showed it to him.Your dial and hands are really that good :victory:

  4. this member bought a 088 with a swiss 7754 inside and used the distance ring from the 7750b1.

but the hand gear posts are too short,

he said anyway.put the hands on it.

    so he did it.

and the result is the hands sit too short on the gear post and direct on the dial.

there is no space between hands and dial.

only maybe that much that the hour hand works and has no contact with the small second hand.

    but it looks terrible.

with all the force to do the modification to say i have a mod 088.

this is not professional and not watchmaking.

    rolli

    Hi rolli,

    I didn't know that.

Thought it was something manageable from the watchsmith.

    Thanks for the information

    You are good.

  5. I liked it at first, until the Chinese logo started looking like somebody pushing an overloaded shopping trolley!

    No offence meant :)

    Hey Mic,

    Thanks for pointing it out.

I did see a man pushing a fully loaded trolley. ^_^

Seriously, as an asian. I think it looks weird though the thought for introducing Panerai into the china market is appreciated.

  6. Beside the movt (which I think I will leave it alone if I were you), you may want to consider the following mods

1.) Chief's 6mm cyclop without AR ( the mag power really blow up the thick date font and improve the appearance alot)

    - However, it is almost impossible to find one. You can try by posting in the wanted section.

2.) Jakob's latest caseback run for PAM63 C series. This will be a permanent fix as all the PAM63 reps come with the incorrect caseback meant for PAM29.

    Good luck
