  1. I have been in communication with Gunter Steinhart via email. His response was that the watch is a pilots watch and does not belong in the water it belongs in the air. The watch is rated at 5 atm so taking a shower with it should not have hurt it in any way. He agreed to fix it "this time" but said I should not wear it in the shower. I ask him for return shipping instructions and he still hasn't sent them to me after two working days. I hate to ship the watch all of the way back to Germany not knowing how long it will be gone. I think I will take Trail boss' advise and remove the case back and air dry it in the window. Thanks to all...
  2. Hello everyone, Long time since my last post. Retired from the military, started a new business, and got married! Been a busy year. Anyway, I hope that the corporate knowledge here will be some help. I have a Steinhart Nav. B Chrono II which has some how gotten water in the case. I have never used this watch for swimming or diving but, yes it has seen some shower time and a few days in the rain. I would like to know if it is possible to get the water out without sending it back to the factory. This is NOT a rep watch by the way. But I bought it based on recommendation here on this site. I have been very please with this watch up to this point and it was not cheap by Gen or Rep standards. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks...
  3. Every part requires a one for one exchange basically. I sent my gen Sub LV off for service through an AD and requested to have an extra black bezel ring insert sent back with the watch and they refused.
  4. It has been some time since my last post here. I think because of the very thing that JoJo has brought up in this topic. He is correct in saying that a rep is just a rep, no mater how much it is modified and no mater how many gen parts it contains. For me it started when I purchased my first gen sub and then I found Steinhart. My Steinhart gets most of the wrist time now and the gen Rolex along with 7 or 8 rep watches spend the majority of time in the watch box. It is a sad thing. I remember how excited I was to find this website. I do however still appreciate the wealth of information that can be found here concerning watches. I seem to have found another addiction recently; Purchasing precious metals! God help me...
  5. If you are working in an environment with "watch experts" there is a real chance that one of them is going to want to take a closer look. It is human nature for an expert to want to look closely at another specimen. You should save your money and buy the gen, or just come clean and tell them your watch is a fake. If they are true experts, they might just appreciate your copy all the more. Especially if it is a good one. Do not attempt to pass off any rep as a gen. It is just bad form.
  6. Orange juice cut in half with water is a great electrolyte replacement also. Cut with water to avoid upset stomach. Of course make sure your friend is not allergic to oranges.
  7. My sub is about +2 secs. per day on average. Not too bad in my opinion.
  8. I purchased the Steinhart NavB Chrono II about a month ago and I love it! Super high quality watch. Gunter, the president of the company provided me with excellent customer service. He sent me an extra leather strap to go with the stainless steel one. You really can not go wrong with Steinhart.
  9. I have owned a lot of reps and have come to know what I really appreciate in a watch. I now have a new addiction... Gens!!! God help me
  10. Maybe I missed something but I did not see a single link to watches or anything remotely related to our hobby! It looks more like a second rate search engine.
  11. I agree with Robbie! There is something about the marvel of the micro mechanics setting on my wrist that could never be matched by anything digital. Digital has its place, but never something so personal as a watch.
  12. I believe you are speaking of the "wholesale outlet" on Ebay. If so, there service isn't bad but the shipping is slow.
  13. Glad to hear that everything went well. Great news on the watch too...
  14. I have gens and reps and suffered from a similar addiction. Then I realized that with all of the watches that I have and have had I was only wearing one or two of them. I have also found that just because I like a watch in a picture doesn't mean I will like it on my wrist.
