  1. Hi guys,

I'd like to ask what is the accuracy you managed to get from your automatic rep so far?

(thinking that many people have many reps for long time, up to now, so it's a good time asking :) )

I managed to reach a good +6" on ETA 2824-2 and 2836-2 and no less than +/-20-25" on asian movements.

    how about you?

At the last check my seagull in the aqua tera was a consitant +4

  2. quote from fine pixWhat no-one has mentioned is the fact that the balance wheel has the correct spoke shape to it in this new movt. I am not sure that it is the smaller - higher beat rate type (like the gen) as it looks like the same size as the older type but is certainly a different shape. end quote

you might also notice that the adjusting arm is the correct shape. The main point of having a functioning swans neck it to make fine ajustment easier there for the time keeping better

  3. I've bought an old Seiko diver which I think would look good on a Nato strap. I think it's a 22mm lug size but I need a long length as I've got tree trunks for wrists.

Anyone know where I might get such a thing? None of the ones I've seen on eBay look long enough and I've not had a reply from one guy on eBay who says he has lots of different sizes.

    look here for nato straps

he has always been a good supplier

  4. Weasel words CC. The above comments come from people who have owned watches containing these movements and they are relaying their (good) experiences. Heck - Marickvilleboy has even worked on them.

You know these movements are good because people who have them are telling you they are. Who is it has been telling you they aren't?

I have on my wrist right now an aqua terra that i bought from a dealer here that i thought, and was advertixed as eta 2892, it turned out that it is a seagull st-18, now i have a gen AT here and for the difference in price i would get the seagull powered one every time. Why?

I have regulated it to COSC standards no problem.

    6 months and still reliable

so far water proof with swimming ect.

who was it from, well that is for me to know, but i am happy with what i got for my money, the watch is great, and the movement is as good as a 2892 IMHO.

ok the finish does not quite match up to the gen but neither does the price.

so the ST-18 works and it works well, it is a very good compromise between a myota and 2892 and i would but it a bit above a gen ETA 2824, but hey im no expert but this is my most worn watch and i can compare it every day with the gen.

Where did they get it from?

Wasn't easier to copy the genuine omega writing than creating a new one?!

I'll never understand replica manufacturers. :g:

Ah i got the same one, also got the gen and apart from the colour of the gold it is the only telltail that would give it away except in direct comparison, there are dealers who have it right but i think those ones had the wrong case back or only with asian works, real shame realy.

  6. Well i am not a fan of the stick on plates with panerai on it i would rather go for the (is it G or H) plain version, yes a working swans neck is fairly important and a well closing crown, saphire and as long as it keeps good time.l

PS whats this one going for?

    Andy <_<

  7. I won a vintage pam on the PT raffle and i love it it was my first pam and although the crystal is plastic as was the original i still try and where it regulary, yes it does pick up scratches but why have it and not where it. The movement keeps good time but bear in mind it is only 4 weeks old. It has a screw down rolxx crown and feels a good solidpeice.

Now waiting on a 217, pam fever

  8. I tell them my gens are reps and vice versa. It's a gas as they don't believe me anyway! :Jumpy:

Now thats true, i do the same, they dont belive you, i own a couple of gen omegas and lots of reps, omega pam rolies and 5 or 6 vintage watches of varrious makes, even when i where a 1950 vintage west end watch co people think it is a rep of the gen. But then again i do work with some serious fxxxwits.

  9. I am happy to report to every one that this dispute has been resolved, i am now in possetion of a full refund. it is just a shame that it has taken so long and has caused some bad PR for the other party. i hope that John has now cleared his problems and i wish him good trading for the future.

  10. I understand what you say about the risks involved, however, if and quoting DWSwatches he does not rip people off, and by the coments made on other boards i am now inclined to belive that he does not, and that this problem is one of accounting and pp problems only. If:

    1. I have made my payment and it has cleared through pp into his account,

    2. I am then advised by the seller to claim the money back i win my claim but there is nothing there to reinburse me.

Then, i have made my payment, the account is empty due to other claimants having been paid is not my problem, After a full audit of payments made, watches send and claimants repayed the seller should find that either he is my payment up, or he has sent a watch to someone who has claimed and recieved reinbursment or this missing money has been used via pp to pay fees or some other requirement.

If the payment had not cleared it would have come back to me.

Any of the other instance you mention above in your post had happend i would assume it was just the nature of the game. I am willing to reach some sort of settlement, but i am not willing to and can not afford to send more money before seeing what i will get.

  11. Just on a quick note reference any one about to use locktite, generaly in use are two main types, 242 and 272, if i want to be able to take some thing apart with hand tools only i would use 242, if i did not want to ever take the thing apart or wouyld be useing an impact driver or some type of air tool or power tool i would use 272., I do a lot of waok on harleys and this has worked for me for the last 14 years, Be aware that neither of these are glues but thread locks only.

    Andy

  12. The reinbursment deal was for me to send you more money and recive a discount on other watches i buy, i dont find this a sutable reinbursment plan as i have never delt with you i dont know the quality of your stock and ultimatliy if my first payment cleared through pp and i have not been reinbursed then i have payed you and you should honour our agreement.

Would any one else send more money in this situation, your thoughts please.

  13. Before joining this forum I thought I had found a reliable dealer, emails were promptly answered, communication was good. I ordered a watch and paid with what I thought was a safe method: pp ! The payment showed as cleared in my account and at that point I assumed that it was with the seller. The seller then informed me that he has a problem with pp and his account is frozen and he can’t get my payment out and won’t send the watch until he has payment, fair enough to this point. The seller advised me to claim my money back from pp so I could pay him via a different method, so I claim, 10 days later the claim is ruled in my favour but I was informed there is nothing in his account to pay me any thing back? So where has my money gone, the seller replied to all mails still with good communication but insists that he does not have my money and offers that if I send him more money he will sell me watches at a discount until I get the cost of my original payment back ? Would you send this seller more money? So now no money, no watch, a claim on pp in my favour and a feeling of being ripped of by a trusted dealer!

My original order was with John at www.eurofakes.co.uk . According to him this site was sold and he opened his next site www.poshwatchshop.co.uk which has now moved to www.eureplicas.com. .This seller also trades at www.dwswatches.co.uk and under the name g**** on ebid.co.uk. and under the name dwswatches on this forum.

What I would like to know is how can my money disappear from his account without him taking it.

If anybody would like more information I have saved every mail sent back and forth. I believe I have been polite and patient but I have lost my money, received no watch and believe that this seller is dishonest and not to be trusted.

This is a public forum and I invite John to defend himself in public and explain where the problem lies and where my money went to.
