  1. Ghost - that's it - you understand unglish just fein!
  2. Very Very Nice. Enjoy that thing!
  3. Oh, I can't believe you guys have been on this forum all these years and not figured out the "code language" of the rep world for sale section. Let me help you out: Franken = two possible meanings 1) my Uncle Frank has held this watch (gooder English would indicate, "Frank and watch". It's just shorthand really 2) one genuine screw (must be careful, shady sellers use this when only meaning, "wore the watch while making nookie with the wife") Super Franken = 1) my favorite uncle Frank has held this watch, or 2) two gen screws (same caveats as above apply) Genstein = 1) I can't for the life of me recall that cool word they use to jack up the price of a watch but this sounds good 2) will be accompanied by an authentic German beer mug or 3) three genuine screws. A fourth screw if possible, but only if you pay full asking price).
  4. Ghost, your bringing up some goid points. My pet peeve is people who bring useless and off topic comments to forum threads. Having said that, how 'bout them Oakland A's this year?
  5. I got some heavy duty Ziplocks if you're interested.
  6. Alot written up on her on TZ. I had the black SMP Chrono (shouldn't have sold it). No problems at all. As I recall, there's a part that you need to have swapped out on service (first ideally) -once done you should be golden. Think it was the early modles that got the horror stories going. Think later ones were fine... if memory serves (which - it often doesn't).
  7. Today my EXP II arrived (ToroB). More a straping young man, I looked in the drawer to see what might work. Hmmm, an OEM IWC Kevlar... yeah, that'll do. Presenting my I.W.R. Cheers -
  8. Here's a thought. You'll lose a tidy bit of coin in resale if that comes around - and - it usually does.... so grab a cheap quartz rep of it and wear her for awhile.... see if she stays on the "must have" list 3-4 months from now. If so, by then (or even during that time) we on the prowl for one showing up on TZ or WUS or such. That way - you're more sure it what you want to sink your dough in - and - you lose less of it in the process. Only requirement: patience! I've got a Speedy with silver subs/display back that I've offered on a trade here or there - but every time the lust passes - I'm sure glad she's still in the box. Sometimes only TIME will let you know if it's a keeper...or...not so much...
  9. Very nice! But you know how I feel about IWC goodness.
  10. Very nice. For some reason they've always sat like a double-thick domino on my wrist... have been eager to try some of their thinner/thinest offerings. Love JLC. Had the Chrono for awhile. Enjoy.
  11. http://sfappeal.com/2013/08/man-robbed-after-responding-to-craigslist-ad/ Wasn't selling a watch but evidently that was "part of the deal"...
  12. You the drop bear! Lol... Glad u found it.
  13. I'd recommend NOT sanding the insert...it is a VERY tight fit so it often takes a pro (even a persistent pro) to get it in right and not screwing it up...but it does fit without sanding. Mine was a bugger...measured TCs was a tad smaller .04) than the oem insert, but it fit.
  14. Very nicely done. I think you have my mailing address. if not, PM me ...
  15. Yea, thought Archie was a hoot. Give the guy the weeeeeniest bit of credit... he didn't just say "well done!".... he did tell a "fan" - "ya got some stinkers here". Not that he was right - and, I didn't care for his "recommendation" (I'd spend my 40K on an FPJourne or such) - but, hey, it was a good watch none the less (pun intended).
  16. van_damme1988 - def go for it. A little patience is required but worth it... and, TC (sadly) won't be doing this forever so, strike while the iron... (in fact, as I know he is only making a few more 16610s and 'twill be done... and is done with LVs as he can't get more dials (if I understood him correctly). woof* - thanks. Good to have a TC back in the fold. Sold my last Franken and then... you know... started to whimper like a child...
  17. "And that is why i stated, that in my country i would never step in front of judge with such a thing." Your country is key here I think. Elsewhere maybe a different story with the analogy applying and different steps being taken. Again, no dog in the fray - just thought to say in some places you actually might take reps into courthouse discussions. Cheers -
  18. For example, got this in on Thursday, installed a gen insert and crystal... and yes... this thing is sick! Eager for his brother 16610 V.5 to arrive... p.s. pardon the crap on the crystal... p.s.2 - clasp coronet - wicked good p.s.3 - wow, the bezel to case fit is killer p.s.4 - didn't "push it" but passed a 5ATM pressure and vaccuum test
  19. Yup, Toro. It's a second QC actually (first one had a black dot on the dial) so I'm hesitant to request a third. I think it may be the angle of the shot and will probably have this one sent. DW seems about a centered as one can hope for. In terms of what I'm seeing (or think might be seeing) - its this. Look at the 6 on the bezel and line that up with the 15 minute marker on the dial. The marker doesn't split the 6 in half - its as if the bezel was put on turned a miniscule amount too far clockwise. But, this could be because of the left/right or up/down angle of the shot. Perhaps being too nit-picky, but its gonna be sitting on my wrist so, I obsess... As for the lady hands - yes, its a lady (best I know Toro is not from Patpong). Funny, I told Toro I liked the "hand model" taking my QCs and in my next set... she took photos wearing gloves with only one finger showing (and NO, not the finger you might think!)... glad to she she's back to her prior ways. Come to think of it, maybe THIS is the "skin" that PP was upset about
  20. looks good. Wear her well.
  21. I don't have a dog in this discussion (never mind my avatar) - but, as owning a replica watch/es is not a crime one could certainly say to a judge "here is proof of the cost of these items (genunie or not) and in their loss, I am requesting X as compensation." That would not work well if the defendent were a maker as producing the goods runs afoul the law - but as a repairer of replica items one could be held accountable. They are good/ they have a value... though difficult to determine. If someone took parts from 10 different year corvettes and pieced them toegehter - they could not claim compensation for the price of a new or single year vette - but they could ask the court for some portion of compensation for demonstrated costs/time in SCC. Not that doing so would go well, or that the legal-squeeze approach was best suited this conflict.
  22. lja1821 ... how would a fix be done - if necessary? Thanks.
  23. Looks a tad too far right - but - not sure. and, if it is - is a fix as easy as removal and replacement?
