  1. +1 for Omni

And honestly, this hobby is pretty harmless. The cost/happiness ratio is rather small compared to other vices. There are worse things that a guy can do in his free time.

The fact that I don't really care for the modern daytonas might have quite a bit to do with my answer.... If the watch in question is a PP, Lange or VC, the answer might be predictably different....

But then again.... what does a guy in his early 30s, unmarried, GF 4000 miles away know about marriage?

    cheers

  2. Tuesday......Russian Aviator - Spin Limited Edition.

Almost sold this because of scratch problems of its original mineral crystal but swapped it with a fiddy sapphire and replaced the original crown with a diamond crown from debaufre.... the result.....one of a kind. Funny looking but one of a kind nonetheless.

  3. Most of my reps will pass the 1 meter away test, some might even pass close inspection but if i am ever asked.... I'll say its a rep. The thing is nobody ever ever actually asks the golden question.

I know of someone who has poor reps and says they are real.... I'll let him be but come on.... a quartz AP Alinghi and a B&R with wrong date window location??? Feel sorry for him actually.

    Cheers

  4. When I first found this place 1 year ago.... everything I bought was on impluse, much to my detriment. I used to buy watches and straps on impulse knowing fulling well that I can cover the cost at the end of the month. When the bills piled up, I stepped back and reassessed the whole situation.

I am more disciplined now. I have set a maximum limit of 14 rep watches. I also set aside a small amount monthly to what I call the watch fund. Any sale of my current collection goes into the watch fund. This allows me to pounce on any special piece that appears in the Sales Section. If a particular piece is more than whats available in the watch fund, then I wait or sell a watch to raise funds.

Buy first sell later strategy is okay if you have loads of disposable income, of which I dont have right now.... :(

For Gen purchases, I buy those with extraordinary discounts.... simple.

  5. Wow.... Its been a year since I stumbled onto this place and what a year it has been. Made some nice friends through several local GTGs and seriously added to my collection. Pocket a bit lighter though but hey....nowadays, most pockets are lighter anyway.
