  1. It's a rep......see my review here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=82297 One thing, I reaaly enjoy this cheap, highly inaccurate rep! Great size and weight. I don't look at it as what it's NOT but I wear it for what it IS. All the diehard Rollie fans just ripp this one up, but hey, each to his own. I LIKE IT.
  2. By-Tor - Your much appreciated by me, and I thank you for your compliments. Carlsbadrolex - I am genuinely jealous! no pun intended! That's gonna be simply awesome I'll get some wrist shots soon!
  3. geo1nah2a - thank you very much, I appreciate your kind words...At least we have a base to work on! Ztech - thanks to you too...I couldn't wait for a newer version, I have to get some wrist shots for you guys. Dutchy - I think the braclet is just sub-par in weight, It feels fine and looks just OK...again I just LOVE the GEN braclet southcoast68 - Great points and your exactly right....(the rehaut does have rolexrolexrolex - sorry I didn't get a better shot)......again - I think we have something to work with here. THANK YOU
  4. I'd like to begin by saying thanks to this forums members and staff for providing me an outlet to really go nuts! I really enjoy the time I spend here. I know there are a whole lot more knowledgable geeks out there who will point out things I just didn't know about this watch, BUT that's what I like so much about this place.....you learn. Check out the offical Rolex Website here for specs on the Deepsea Dweller. Rolex announced the addition of an exciting new model to the 2008 lineup, the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller DEEPSEA. If you
  5. I agree that the cg's are off - little work on em?
  6. Lardlad....Check out WBK, he has these pretty cheap (non-working chrono's). If you want working chrono's - Buckeye is 100% correct And if you cant wait.....please look at the dealers here, it will save you alot of hassle and more than likely a buncha $$$.. Lastly, WELCOME.....I love coming here. I hope you do to.
  7. Great idea on the vitamin bottle- you get $20 McGuyver bucks!
  8. Definatly Fingerprints! Thats why I needed some Rodico. Yes - direct fit from what I understand. Just go for it! What's the worst that could happen? Really - I did alot of reading before even beginning. If you get to a tough spot or have a question, maybe I could help! It's there! Look at the lume shot - you'll see it making a 5 sec sweep! Here's the thing, whoever lumed this dial did a very uniform job, the covered every bit of silver on every hour marker! It's OK for now, till I buy that gen dial! Did yours go back together OK? Sure hope so.... Thanks, but I'm just gonna get the Gen...I actually have the Silix dial (as a spare) but didnt want to mess it up with my first attempt.
  9. Here's my story: Bought a UPO and got 2 dials as extras. Good thing too, as the dial it was sporting had glue spots from a failed "re-sticky of bad lume" adventure from the previous owner! I couldn't stand seeing this thing like this! It was heartbeaking! Let me also tell you, I have NEVER, EVER done this before. Heck, I took the caseback off and looked, but, never messed around inside. I kept looking at one of the dials which had "super-luminova" applied. Sure did glow bright....but had one tiny little flaw at just below one o'clock. Ah, what to do? So, at around my third cup of coffee, I said screw it, I can't take it anymore. I unscrewed the caseback and went to work! 3 hours later, I had the dial swapped! Not really a big deal at all. And I used NO SPECIAL TOOLS. (Other than a jeweler's eyeglass screwdriver and a very nice pick) Let me stonewall a couple flames for that last statement! I plan to replace the hands, dial, crown, & tube real soon. I didnt really care if i buggered up the hands or the dial. I didnt throw caution to the wind, but I had no fear either. As you can see, I didn't hurt a thing! Let me also say, I had to do this twice because there was a tiny spec of hair on the dial AFTER I reassembled, but the second time around, I had it all apart in 15 minutes and back together after another 20. I sure coulda used some Rodico, but that too is why I'm off to Ofrie's site (thanks again R2D4), and order me some parts! Tell me what you think! P.S. ---This crystal has the weakest AR ever!
  10. Just got finished replacing the dial on my UPO, setting the hands really isnt that hard - Get a "Bic" pen refill and a little transfer (by rubbing) the tinyist bit of stickey from a piece of masking tape to the open hole. Then just touch the hands and slide right into place for the hour and minutes. I found it a little easier to cut a slot into the plastic refill so i could hold the second hand a little better. Just take your time. (mind you i am talking about the refill - not the whole daggum pen!)
  11. I agree with R2D4 (usually do) I started a thread couple weeks ago about trying to get someone to produce a Ultimate SMP (USMP). Overwhelmingly wanted. The SMP draws more attention than any other rep for me, but then again, I don't do Rollies. I'd buy just the daggum case if I could get it! the He Valve is my biggest complaint. Let's be real: 1. the UPO has gained so much attention because it's highly "mod"-able 2. with that in mind - most everyone would swap to a Gen dial and hands anyways...right? 3. The bezel misaligned is a 10 min fix, pearl is another story...... Long story short - If you rep the SMP case like the Old Factory (correct He and crown guards), you got yourself a SOLID GOLD #1 Hit
  12. Is this the $98 PO Lite? quickest way to tell is the size of the HE valve. Puretimes PO Lite has a rather large one and not recessed as much as UPO Detail of the caseback (seamonster) is another giveaway...you have to compare it for yourself. Not close at all If you did get the PO Lite, love it and wear it well, I did. The watch just can't be beat for $98 IMHO.
  13. I think I have bought a couple replica's because I simply cannot afford to buy the real thing. I love my reps, I'd never waste tons of cash on a Gen even if I did have the disposable cash to do it. I'm not out to impress, in fact, I hardly even show mine to anyone who isnt buying reps anyway.
  14. I've only been here a couple of months and I am dismayed to see the ugliness of this hobby. I thought I would post around and learn as much as possible. The more I read, the more concerned I get. Maybe I just dont have enough information. I do know this - it took alot of guts for Greg to come out and say what he did. I respect the hell out him!
  15. i prefer the blender test myself.......
  16. After researching quite a bit, I have to agree the best rep of the SMP was the "closed factory" which of course is no longer available...unless you find from another member. I think I was lucky enough to get really close to the closed factory with mine and wear it almost daily. My co-worker got the 21J cheaper version and he absolutley loves it.
  17. Just play paintball...........30 Balls per second looks like rope coming out the barrel!
  18. I have disassembled and reassembled a Rollie Sub no sweat....but that EXACTLY my point. It was cheap, inexpensive and i had nothing to loose. With my SMP, its not cheap and i really do like it, so i'd rather nor screw it up by not using the correct tools or more importantly the CORRECT method of disassembly. Its kinda like sayin - OK go look at that lawnmower, take it apart, put it back together and then go do the same to a Corvette engine...not really the same. Even though I am Master ASE Certified and I can put that vette together, but i prefer to have a "manual" or at least a guide to go by.
  19. I cant find one dealing specificlly withe the SMP do you know of one you could point me to?.....and OK - so i buy a press....cant be that expensive, huh?
  20. I've searched and searched, but i cannot find a pictorial guide or description of the disassembly of the SMP. I'd like to remove the crystal from my closed factory and send it off to chieftang for AR, but i cant find any guide dealing strictly with the SMP although I have found many great articles with awesome pics for the Rollies from the bezel, crown, all the way down to replacing the dial and hands. I know you will probably suggest doing this with novice skillsets would be foolish.....but i am hardheaded. One way or another, i will....just looking for guidence!
  21. Im right there with you! I'd like to order the same watch and am totally clueless when it comes to finding a decent dealer to sell me one! I have been reading and looking all over these forums for 2 weeks! Please, Dorskh, if you get some good info, let me in on it. I am finding them from 115.00 all the way to 500.00 (various movements of course).
