Disappointed by the rehaut on that hatch....
-
The date window on the $us90 rep I recently bought looks fine. Check the pics further up in this discussion.
-
Who's tony? Is that who runs rolex2u.com, or are you talking about tonyxkf on cqout?
Same bloke apparently.
-
"Doesn't know her a r s e from her elbow - I don't know whether you use that phrase in the US or anywhere else for that matter, but it is well used in the UK.
She never called you out, she is just in the Muppet league, another day another buck category."
Mate, I think the yanks INVENTED that "elbow" saying!
(Of course they favour the incorrect spelling)

The so-called "5th Gen" in #20 has been around for a while. It's not an improvement.
-
JimmyT...
The rep I picked up for $90 is clearly not the most "authentic" version. But after looking at a gen in a dealer's window, I'm happy with it. Quite simply in my opinion, it's good value for money.
-
PM sent...
The dealer on CQOUT has an ETA 2836 version for about $us320.
Seems very expensive compared to the Asian 21j movt.
-
I thought about it aswel but I think its a matter of different perspective that the image was taken from.
Nope. I've looked at quite a few pics of the gen and, without doubt, the rep's minute hand is wrong.
-
G'day.
I got this one for about $US90 from a CQOUT seller about a week ago. Good value.
-
Case update?
-
The minute hand seems too short...
-
Oh man, I can believe I missed the fact that it was the NEW red chrono. I gotta start paying more attention!
-
Is this the one Ruby is selling? I notice she has a "cheaper" SMP Chrono these days. The only diff I can spot is the properly aligned pearl. What other changes am I missing?
-
Except the Puretime rep has a white outline around the date window...
-
Rolex2u have a rep on rubber for $88 at the moment. It's not bad for the price.
Actually they have two versions on rubber. The other isn't much chop at all.
I saw a gen about a week ago and I think it's far, far better looking in real-life than in photos. I reckon the pics I've seen make it look a bit bland.
Anyway, I'm considering getting the R2u rep to use as a daily work watch.
-
Here's a pic of the other caseback I've seen.
Note: The monster is shiny instead of textured. And the monster has a different saddle or whatever it is.
Maybe someone can find a better photo....
-
I'm totally hooked on the SMP Bond. I've checked out plenty of photos of the gen and it seems that the caseback "creature" engraving has changed at least once over the life of this model.
-
Ask yourself this question.... "what would Commander Bond wear?"
-
Is it true that "Doxa" is the Cantonese word for counterfeit? Or is that French?

Life goes on mate.
I didn't know what true happiness was until I got married, but by then it was too late.
Cheers.

I'm seriously considering an SSD. Not too bothered about the version.
Can someone please give me an opinion on the one offered by Ruby?
Is it a SSD?
-
The other flaws are subtle, but the "overhang" of the bezel is quite obvious, isn't it?
Good thing I found this discussion. The SSDv2 was very high on my wish list. Now I am not so sure....
-
Asian ETA-2836.
Thanks.

7. Once it's gone, you don't keep paying for it for the rest of your life
What Is and Why the Euromariner?
in The Rolex Area
Posted
Well...
Hadn't realised up until now that the "noob" and the Euromariner use different fonts on the bezel insert.
