  1. i know Bk has a vacation planned so you might be soon!!! ill try might not be till the weekend on wristis
  2. @cht im not exactly sure... (forgot) but im thinking it was in feb. i know it was the first day Bk announced it as an offering. i always liked the LV but i originally put a deposit on a SD. if i remember correctly about a month after the SD announcement and my deposit BK announced the LV. so i was screwed or blessed either way as i HAD to order the LV now because i knew BK wouldnt offer anything but the best. man was i correct. this thing is great! now if i can just hold out for the SD to arrive. if BK and WM9 offer the GMTIIc with a real gmt movement im a sucka for that one too! do you think Bk will offer me a group discount for buying three? ha ha
  3. thanks for the positive comments! a little udate for you on some things that i mentioned during the writeup. Crown "grit" - as i suspected but failed to state... the crown must have had metal shavings on the tube or the inside of the crown from break in. after a simple dry brushing and some canned air to blow it out it is SILKY SMOOTH! almost gen like. excellent for a rep IMO. Bracelet "stiffness" - after a clean, teflon and WD40 lube(probably both were not needed) and another clean and two days of wear the bracelet is much improved and not stiff like mentioned. just thought i would be fair on the pluses and minuses like i originally stated.
  4. i agree with you on this. and thanks for all the positive feedback! i truely appreciate it. im not here much usually on RG for some reason.... but i wanted to share this with you guys as its an unbiased review. i dont mind flipping if im not happy. probably keeping this one at least till my SD arrives...
  5. glad you all like it! im on order for the SD too. i guess ill be selling my BK/Jackjo/Vac modded noob LV now.... might have it posted soon.
  6. I posted this on RG yesterday and thought you all might be interested in seeing it as well. Enjoy! ok first and foremost im no review expert. this is rough and quick and i had to take the pics inside as its 33 and rainy out. but i think most of you will appreciate. i am going to be brutely honest (pluses and minues) so hope that doesnt offend. these are only initial thoughts as i have only had this for less than an hour. process: while long... BK has been great with information as he gets it. i felt comfort in knowing he would be hand assembling my watch and IF i had any issues i know he will address them in a timely fashion. shipping: Bk shipped the package priority mail in an envelope, a cardboard envelope, then bubble wrapped, and finally coverd in plastic wrap. the watch was in perfect condition upon arrival. Bk pmed me with a tracking number. first feel/thoughts: Dial: very sharp and very accurate. Z serial number so no rolex rehaut. maxi dial super lumed and torch like. date function clicks with authority and the numbers are all centered nicely. big plus here! Crystal: is ALMOST seated perfect maybe off a mm low as compared to the 10 year old no date (bare in mind maybe the newer subs sit lower than my 10 year old model). the cyclops is perfect and super clear. i almost wonder if it has AR. probably not but its that clear. EDIT- Bk comments on this below. apparently the newer subs sit at this height. so it is perfect just different than my older sub. Crown: about 90 percent. a little "gritty" towards the end of screw down but most importantly its not wobbly and its centered true to gen unlike the noobs. Bezel: probaby my favorite next to the dial in accuracy. its super stiff at first just like my gens were and the clicks are tight and firm. very gen like. i will give this a 98 percent at least. color seems to be very accurate. but as you know you can look at 10 gen LVs and see 10 different colors depending on light reflection. Bracelet: one word... STIFF. the color is better than a noob and only slightly off that of my gen no date. finish of the sides of the links is alot more rough than gen not a big fan of that. the bracelet had to be sized down one link and that was no problem. the screw came out easily and everything tightened back down fine. i know some have commented negatively in reference to the endlink fitment. mine is dead on to my eyes and i have no complaints about the endlinks. Buckle: while stiff it looks great to me. polished nicely on the ends and brushed nicely on the top. the diver's extension actually works gen like and latches back nicely with no issues of coming undone. so far im pleased however i feel the braclet feel is the only drawback. its stiff and binds on occasson but it might loosen up. i have it sitting on paper towels right now as i sprayed it down with teflon lubricant. lets see if that and some wear will loosen it up. it just doesnt have the "silky" gen feel. if you had or have a gen you will know what i mean by silky. so remembering this is a 500 dollar rep lets reflect. the watch dial and bezel is the best you will find on a sub rep IMO. especially the bezel and its action. the crown is where its supposed to be which is what i hated about my noob. well that and the crappy bezel action. so all pluses so far. of course Bk is a dream to work with so no issues there. the draw back to this is the bracelet in my opinion. but remeber IF you can find a gen bracelet it will be almost triple what we payed for these complete watches. i will attach these pics. they suck but at least i tried my best in a timely fashion. pm me or post if you have any questions or comments. in closing i want to say THANK YOU to Bk for all his assistance during this process. I am very happy with the watch!
  7. I bought both the SD and the LV. I will probably like both but like others have said.... if not you can flip anything from BK very quickly. he makes a quality product and he has a wait. anything of his used will sell fast because someone can pick up a preowned BK product without the wait.
  8. congrats! i would REALLY like to know how good this thing is. Especially how the bracelet feels compared to gen. WM9 brags on that bracelet but i have yet to read a side by side comparision with a gen. i hope its WAY better than a noob bracelet.
  9. Pm me in a few weeks. i have two gen rollies and i have a modded Noob incoming. maybe i can help you a little by explaining my opinion on what i think about the modded noob compared to my gens. hope that helps some.
  10. my gf wears my no date sub and it looks hot. now she doesnt wear it daily but it makes a great weekend "going out" watch.
  11. great post! been wondering if a gen bracelet would fit a noob case myself! good job.
  12. sweet guys! thanks so much. never occured to me that dealers would do that.... i bought my breitling SA from a dealer who is also a rolex dealer so im thinking that may be the way to go! thanks again! i assume a gen would fit on a noob case.... maybe i will try to fit my sub no date bracelet to my noob when it arrives and give it a try first! thanks again
  13. pretty basic... is there any certain place i can go to get a gen rolex bracelet? dont seem to be able to find anything on the net. thanks!
  14. sweet watch enjoy! thanks for the pics and i love the LV. cant wait to get one!
  15. wow i guess it really is hit or miss... thats frustrating to me. i will probably go with the world famous bk crown because i will probably regret it if dont. im a mess! lol
  16. thanks by-tor. i know you definately know your STUFF! i truely appreciate all your help. im probably not one that is going to collect a ton of reps as i am probably overly picky. kobe beef taste on a hot dog budget! lol love my gens but i feel quilty wearing them and beating them around... so i just sit them on the dresseer and look at them. silly really. im like most i guess i want a sub that is gen like and not have to spend the outragous price a gen demands. im hoping that my solution is a modified rep from you guys here who know the simple mods that make a big difference. plus its nice to have a watch that you can say has had some special attention put into it. i cant say enough about you, BK and jackjo to name a very limited few. thanks again.
  17. by-tor, lol i love ya buddy! i know its a silly type question but one that i thought you knowledgable guys could help me with. i obviously dont have a large amount of hands on experience with gens. i have two rolex gen subs and a rep gmt that either has just a real bad crown or maybe its how all the reps feel. i dont know, so thats what prompted the question. the noob sub im getting can come with the original crown or i can have a BK crown installed and i just didnt know if the cost of the BK crown would be worth it. make more sense? maybe, or at least i hope so. ubiquitous, i was speaking of the screw down itself. sorry for the silly questions.. just trying to get some insight as i dont have a large amount of hands on references to go by. thanks again!
  18. I am probably getting a modded Noob sub soon and while i know the crown is larger than gen.... i was wondering how the action felt. is it smooth or rough feeling. can anyone give me a comparison between the noob crown and the way the gen feels? other then a replacement crown being smaller in physical size, would a replacement crown be more more smooth? thanks!
  19. i have an email into rex. he obviously knows what he is doing.... but i will keep you posted on what he ends up doing for me on this. standby.... i will let you all know. should be fun.
  20. struck out at my jeweler. anyone have any ideas who might be interested in fixing this crown?
  21. toad, i will also let you know what i find out. i might strike out but then again i might hit gold. talk at ya all later!
  22. thanks for the heads up. my jeweler was on the phone yesterday trying to secure a true eta gmt.... so lets see what he came up with. i agree a ceramic gmt with a true movement would be way cool and im sure a very sought after piece if i was to tire of it later. this is such a sickness.
  23. headed to my jeweler today after lunch. (eastern time) i will update you all when i return. i actually got a few offers on the other forum to buy this gmt. so im at a cross roads i guess. beautiful watch but i dont know if i should fix it or sell it.
  24. freddy, wow, thank you sir. that is pretty much what i figured. i have a local preowned rolex jeweler that wants me to bring the watch to him so he can play with it some. (i know the rules about taking reps to dealers as i have two gen subs myself) he is a long time friend and swears he can put a legit gmt movement in it. im not too concerned about that but i DO want the crown to be more GEN LIKE. i will touch base here and update you on the progress. i was just hunting on this board to see if any guys here might be a better option as they (like yourself) would probably be more versed in the rep movement and rep watch in general. thanks again and any futher assistance would be appreciated. my next rep is probably going to come form either eurotimez or BK as they seem to be more quality controled. i would love to have a greenie sub. perhaps a higher end like a euromariner or W9. not sure which is best and dont worry i wont ask that out loud! LOL
