  1. Overboosted,

How did he communicate during this long stretch of time and what excuse did he offer

relative to why it is taking so long?

He had my 1680 for about a month - told me that he had 70/100 ahead of me and that he would

PM me when he started. He did exactly that and called when he started on the watch. I received it

about a week after he called. We communicated by phone several times. I was VERY please with the

    results!!!

If you read all the posts in this topic, it reminds me of a giant puzzle - missing several

    pieces.

I hope that you get your 6263 back!!!!!

  2. Sorry for my mistake. Yes, I meant posts.

    Capitalism defined:

The distribution of goods and/or services where pricing is determined by competition in a free marketplace.

    Certain rules apply:

    1. Supply & demand. It doesn’t matter if it’s goods or services – high demand – low supply = high prices. Low demand – high supply = low prices. In the final analysis, A COMPETITIVE MARKETPLACE determines pricing. You will be charged, in the long run, WHAT YOU, THE CUSTOMERS IN THE MARKETPLACE, are willing to pay.

    2. Long term survival is dependent on the delivery of a GOOD product/service – no matter what its price. Nothing kills a business faster than poor service coupled with bad word of mouth.

    3. The general public is pretty forgiving of violations of rule 2, if the business makes a

timely, sincere, and reasonable effort to correct its mistakes.

These basics rules of economics apply not only to Joe, but to everyone who offers a

product or service to the public.

Time will tell – we shall see!!!!!!!!

  3. Hi Big,

how is the lume on the watch? any lume shots available? Thanks in advance.

The lume is fair to good. It is about 60% as bright as a Gen immediately after charging it up for 30/40 seconds. After 10/15 minutes the glow is about the same. After that both my Gen & Rep glow softly for several hours. The BIG difference are the 1st 15 minutes or so after "luming them up". No contest - the Gan wins by a mile - after that - about the same. No lume shots.

  4. Looks damm good.... :Jumpy:

    I've ordered the Black one...

    Rg tribal

His service was OUTSTANDING - answered all PM's PROMPTLY - Shipping

took 4 days door to door over a Holiday weekend.

Although the bracelet looked great, I removed it and worked on it for about

30 minutes with fine rubbing compound - then soaked it in sewing machine

    oil overnight.

I also worked in the edges of the bracelet for a bit - especially the clasp.

The change in the look and "feel" was amazing. I was astounded at

the "black crud" that came off.

  5. well i have always like mbw and wm watches but the one thing is they use genuine dials, so they cut the feet off the back that installs them and secures them to the movment , and then they glue it right onto the dial which imho sucks lol

to make a long story short i have experimented with genuine dials and this is what u have to do and if u use a asian dial on a swiss movment , just many different better dials will not fit the movment u already got

someone mentioned epoxy the feet back on but that is just as difficult and probably will not hold up either

so i finally did it and purchased a machine that reinstalls these feet to the back of the dial correctly , so soon u will be able to have all your glued in dials fixed correctly to the movment

    Joe:

What will be the cost to do this on a watch that you already modded?

You installed a Gen dial on my MBW 1680.

  6. "No matter, what I'm most impressed with is the quality of the color (so rich!) and detail in your pix.

I'm now convinced that fluorescent lighting is the way to go, I'm using regular light bulbs in swan neck desk lamps for my mini studio set up and I think the color of the pics comes out looking kinda muddy and dead."

These were straight out of the camera - no touch up. I cropped several of these and downsized them so that I could upload them to Imageshack.

  7. Really, really nice pix.

Those light you bought - those are light boxes to view slides, right?

You know, I honestly don't know. I saw the pic. of the homemade light box setup posted by a guy over at TZ - saw the lights in a Mom & Pop used camera store a couple of weeks later and bought them. They have a small florescent bulb in each fixture about 10/12 inches long and 1/2 inch in diameter. In any event, they work great.

  8. man i spent more time in my setup and yours is taking better pictures lmao, i will have to get me some of those lights, u wouldnt happen to know if u can pick up another couple pair for that price do u or even a bit more, lol

This was the only pair. They were used & I just stumbled on to them.
