ok here's what ive learned this weekend, the Gen gasket is slightly taller but still fits in the groove, however it is about 0.15mm thicker not much, but too much to get the crystal in, Mounted my Dremel in a vice with a stone grindiing tip on and rolled the gasket around it to shave it down a bit, and managed to press the crystal in, although it was real tight it failed a pressure test, i guess there is no way to shave it down evenly all the way round, so a big waste of time and back to the rep gasket and a not very tight crystal

Ok one of my Upos , needs a new gasket due to repressing the crystal to many times, so its time to fit a Gen crystal while im at it, does the Gen gasket fit ? all i can find out is that its wider\thicker than the rep

right can i replace it with a 2836 then ? how is it modified ?

Guys, i have trustys Bond Gmt, the display back one, i need to swap the movement to a new one as its packed up, it supposed to be a swiss 2824 would this be a straight swap or has the hand stack been modified to get a GMT hand on there ? any ideas ?

Great sgtguk, glad someone has done this, before i order my Chrono version, i dont need to order an extra rubber strap then, cant be much in it but the gens are deffinatley different sizes the chrono is wider

Guys, does anyone know if the 45 mm UPO and the chrono version use the same lug width & therefore share the same bracelets and straps ? as the gen versions are different and incompatible

Great thanks, that matches my latest UPO dial, never realised the 2009 version was so far out, might have 2 go the Gen dial \ hands route now i know , it will bug me.

Guys, just discovered a old post about UPO's regarding the Text size and position above the 6, i have 2 upo's one from early 2009 and the new updated version from last year, both from Andrew id never even noticed buy my 09 UPO has the bad text too close to the 6 and too small the dial color now looks a bit flat compared to the newer one, both are back\white can you shed any light on the different dials that have been in upo's are all the latest one's now correct

gonna try that this weekend i feel its the rubber o ring undercompression thats causing it

thanks for the input Guys, it starts to spring back on itself, about a 1/4 to 1/2 turn strainght away, and then slowly seems to unwind the rest of the way, athough it tightens down it will not stay tight gonna strip it down and have a closer look,i will get another crown and tube from cousins just incase

not superglue, i meant the loctite paste, the one that doesnt dry, threadlocking i think they call it the stem is a bit shorter than the rep stem, but everthing is working OK !

thanks for the replys, the tube is stuck fast, the crown tightens down on it each time but springs back on its self and unwinds, might try a bit of loctite down the tube on the threads to see if that holds it

Guys, Just carried out the Gen Tube and Crown upgrade to my Stripped Ultimate PO But although the Crown screws down tight and everything work fine, it unscrews it self !! any one had this happen ?? Is it faulty threads ? or maybe the compressed o ring seal forcing it to unscrew itself ? Any ideas ? any advice would be gratefully received

Question : how good is the factory adhesive on the UPO bezel insert ?, does it need removing and refixing with Epoxy before Swimming ?

Waterproofed Mine as instructed, re pressed saphire, expoxy glued helium valve, greased back and crown,tightened mega tight, and went to gran canaria on holiday, My Patek Phillipe Aquanaut of Reg survived the 2 weeks However the Porika failed, managed 2 weeks in the pool and then leaked in the Sea (huge waves i'll admit) needed to open, dissasemble and dry out Seems so far to have survived its wetting though :-)

i should add for a third of the price i wish id seen these first, looking back i would have got all 3 types from reg instead of a UPO

Got mine this morning , here is a couple of quick pics of it beside my UPO to help you decide i would say the Blue hue of the AR is stronger on Reg's watch the bracelets seem identical, maybe the engraving on reg's is more defined on Reg's the crystal sits much higher than on the UPO on Reg's there is less lume in the hour markers the UPO's pearl is much more in proportion the hour and minute hands maybe a bit short on Reg's the secon hand seems a bith thicker than the UPO's but the red tip is much redder like the Gen Cheers
