  1. sounds like a circular argument to me and for sure the answer is a given BTW the greeks (i.e started with Aristoteles) operated with the concept of the "unmoved mover" to explain how God put the universe into motion that explanation was not very refined either.
  2. Nationalism and terrorism aside. Yes! It is my opinion that Osama is a real man (= that he has balls) BTW was that meant to be a trick question? Best regards Gunnar Good one
  3. UNITED NATIONS (AP) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez took his verbal battle with the United States to the floor of the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday, calling President Bush "the devil." I love the USA but I was so impressed by the president of Venezuela that I have to break into this thread. This man gave his message and insults straight and meant every part of it. One might think he is crazy or a communist but at least he has intent, the power of speech and is a real man (=he got balls). I heard his entire speach and certainly I do not agree with all that he said.......... but still I truly and fully enjoyed it . I also got the sad feeling that this man is as lost as his oponent (or in Hugo Chavez words) "the devil". Obviosuly lots of people around the world enjoyed this speach enormously. Lets hope the next president of the US can repair the damage that has been done to the reputation of the great country the USA.
  4. Glad to hear that manuel all beleifs evolve and change with time lets hope they will soon change quickly enough to make this world a better place g.
  5. Vacheron Chronographe is a nice slim and classy watch (handwound) but also TTK has offered some Longines replicas that are quite agreeable but for a really slim watch try a Skagen watch
  6. Geat input Chronus and yes I do agree that the religions are man made. However, being raised and having lived in Judaic culture(s) my whole life I do see them as a natural part of life. Great art and music have resulted from these beleifs and so it can not be all bad can it? g.
  7. So France wants to be a POLEX free zone now Maybe the easy solution is to wear reaplicas of the less well know luxury brands when visiting Paris

  11. I am afraid it may run much deeper than that. The west are seen as arrogant and offensive (and rich and powerful). Probably the seed that the Pope is anti-islam has been born in many a muslim and it will take lots of hard work (and positive help from muslim clericks) to repair the damage.
  12. Sigmund Fraud its seems I once had a argument with Neil and he is always right........well almost always @ryyannon despite your avatar I want to beleive every word you say

  17. You mean the obviously fake beards? or that the whole thing is staged?
  18. Naturally you are correct again Neil. I should have read what I post much more carefully. I am deeply sorry about this (when reread) obvious error. g. @ekhunter yes I agree with you the pope is a Catholic and not that other silly n thing
  19. Jokes aside JTB Many non-Catholics, and even some Catholics, wrongly believe that the doctrine teaches that the Pope is infallible in everything he says. In reality, the use of papal infallibility is quite rare. That the pope is "infallible" is true but just when..the Roman Pontiff speaks ex cathedra, that is, when in the exercise of his office as shepherd and teacher of all Christians, in virtue of his supreme apostolic authority, he defines a doctrine concerning faith or morals to be held by the whole church, he possesses, by the divine assistance promised to him in blessed Peter, that infallibility which the divine Redeemer willed His church to enjoy in defining doctrine concerning faith or morals. Therefore, such definitions of the Roman pontiff are of themselves, and not by the consent of the church, irreformable. I think...but certainly te latelest remarks by the pope wre not ex cathedra
  20. Not bad Neil but the blessed Douglas Adams said it better on behalf of our ocean dwelling friends..... "So Long And Thanks For All The Fish"
