  1. But I would like any Rlx experts opinion on the Rlx that might suit my needs the best. I wear 44mm Pams exclusively and am a big guy. I'm considering Josh's new Seadweller (The Perfect One), a Pepsi GMT, or an Exp II. I'm leaning towards the SD because it's a bit larger than the GMT and the EXP II.

I'm not a newbee and don't want to know who has the best of the above mentioned watches (unless you have a clear cut opinion) :p

    Thanks

As a long time gen rollie wearer and now a recent (goin' on two years) Panerai convert...it has been really hard to put my sub back on my wrist...

    ...love that "mercy wearing"...expression

...'cause everytime I wear it...it just doesn't feel right any more....and this is not a slam on rolex lovers...i still love my sub but it don't feel right...blame that one on my pannys

but anyway, back to the topic...for me, i have always loved the look of the pepsi gmt II...and call me fickle, but eventually i will prolly get a rep of one...as i think their tight.

'course, it'll prolly just sit there and rotate on the winder...

  2. I have heard and read of many vintage gen rolex owners having their rollies serviced by the various service centers only to have their vintage/patina'd dials and hands replaced with new ones. The kicker is that Rolex refuses to return the vintage parts to the owner! The service center also claims that they won't work on these vintage pieces unless their mandate is followed. I know many owners are p--ssed off as they have lost that vintage look that so many folks strive for... :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Many vintage owners have had to turn to alternative means to get their timepieces serviced....a real turn off if you ask me.

For once, I hope the US Government can get this case right...

  3. yep this has been known for a while - several of our members have bought from him.

I didn't realize that some members already had 'em...too bad they are asian movements...as I would prefer the 7753 movement in this baby...

    I also found honpo's old website and he doesn't have them...so I sent a message off...but haven't heard anything...and probably won't...

thanks for inputs on your 187s...

i guess my mind is made up now.

  4. What are the major flaws on the 029 other than the crown and lume.Thank's in advance.

I will second that...also, the font could be a little bit brighter..but other than this...crown, lume, and mag/date need a little work...after that, voila..perfect 29!

  5. @ Dealers and members with inside knowledge

Are we going to see any decent PAM 188 Daylight (:secret: ???) with:

    - Black subdials hands

    - Silver main chrono hand

    - Not recessed dial at 6

    - Asian Valjoux

So far only King and watchpoo (.. or whatever is called) have them.

    Watchpoo: http://gangan.moo.jp/hon/day-bl-swiss-si.jpg

    King: http://www.cclv.net/PANERAI-087.htm

Both with faults and both with gen Swiss ETA 7753 (at 700 to 800 USD :g: )

    .... just asking. B)

    Thanks

Who is watchpoo? Does this guy have a website as his 188 looks really good. I am looking hard at Joshua's 188 but before I drop 7 franklins...i want to find the closest rep possible..

    cheers

  6. :Jumpy: Where my money go? i had $200 ( or more ) in a CD-7 in the bank ... now ? i cant see it? SOMEONE STOLE MY MONEY AND i think was the admin :black_eye: i worked 30 years to save that and now :S hmmmmm

Sheeeit...thats nothin...i had 400 big ones in a CD and that is like history too...what was the bank's name again...something TTP Perfect bank...hmmmm :whistling:

  7. Other than the one edition where there are only 2 of them, is the 192 the most expensive Pam? I've done some searching and it appears it's the most at around $21,500....

    TIA

    The PAM163 retails for $23,100...

    ..i'll take two please...sheesh, what a rip-off

  8. My Rep Speedmaster Moonie is beautiful. The wife is flabbergasted at the quality for the price. Time for another one while the iron is hot! I love the look of his Rolex Sub SS Blue dial/bezel. What do you guys think of it. Opinions pleeeze

Bottom line...if you got wifey buy in...you better jump now...I personally don't care for blue dial subs on SS Rollies but that is just me...Now get that credit card out pronto...before wifey changes her mind!

  9. Those look like the Toscana line vice the MP line...you can't go wrong with either as the Toscana are somewhat inexpensive and look great with the 111s. I have several MPs and Toscanas. I prefer the Tans/Cognacs for everyday wear...the black straps will definitely dress up your look a little more.

  10. I too wasn't 100% sure it was him who made the trip, but more of a member finding the web site and posting a link for the pictures. ;)

I think that posting is from Jocke...he is a collector of vintage rolex's and such. He hangs out on timezone in the vintage section. He takes awesome photos including macros and also does some "how to" segments that are posted on the web.

  11. Plus next week I am going to finally put my name on a list for the real deal, maybe I will get it fast here in Poland... hope so.

    Cheers!

Good luck on getting your reall Daytona. Local AD here says its 8 years but my name could be moved up if I bought more watches....

I think I will have to look into ELs Daytona in the meantime.
