It seems that Rarely anyone says Two Tone or Full Gold Replicas (in Rolex for instance) is close or exact match to the gen.

why is this so? is it due to the difficulty matching a real gold color?

What must I look out for to find the best two tone or full gold replica?

I am more towards Rolex, so I'd want Rolex rep in two tone or Full Gold theme

I have yet to see a TT Sub rep match the gen...I have looked and compared both and I can't seem to find a rep's gold to match the gens in color or weight. Then rep's bracelets never feel right to me and the weight/heft is just one of those "little" things that influence my decision when buying...I want to know that baby is on my wrist!

I guess when I turn 40 next year, those lighter/thinner models will start appealing to me...like the PP and VCs...but until then...pannies all the way.

What the hell do you think you'll achieve with that? Do you think those guys are idiots? They are well aware of the high end replicas (and I'm sure many of them are members here). You're not doing favours to anyone when you post your fake pictures there. You draw unwanted attention to the whole replica scene and on top of that embarrass yourself.

If you think you can pose your rep as a genuine you'd better think again. Most of those guys are real hardcores and they WILL spot your rep (no matter how good you think it is), you can be sure about that.

No need to aplogize for the rant....Newbie here to RWG but not to the hobby of watches. There is a fine line between the rep and gen hobbies. And I don't think it should be crossed.

and he is backed up in regular watch service at the moment....

My first PAM was the 111G...you'll be fine and you'll pull it off no problem....the funny thing is that the rollie looks to small now...

Actually you really might want to consider having a proper PVD coating applied as the rep coating is way too black and is not TiALN. This is a service I will be offering to memebers - just waiting for company to give me a final price for it and would certainly be worth the money.

As for Jimmy CG's, they are a little bit thicker than the rep ones.

Seems like there are a bunch who are inerested in the Tropic 21 crystal for Vintage Rolex 6263/65 and so on. I contacted a seller and he tol me he can get those at 35$ plus shipping (they were 100$ on ebay and 150$ through other sellers).

I bought a couple for the gf from ioffer, the one Ruby offers are kinda not right it seems and not the most accurate / latest designs - atleast thats what the gf said after spending a couple hours looking at pictures of them and then comparing to those online. It took about 6 days and was shipped from China and the gf is over the moon with her that shes ordering 3 more Lets me get away with buying as many watches I want so tis all good !

Excellent post! I have three gens that I paid a lot of money for...and I have 4 reps on the way...I can honestly say that I won't be wasting my money on the gens anymore...I have seen the quality of work on the reps and there is little reason to spend the exorbitant amount of money for the gen when the rep is nearly as good.

Not to mention how much fun the hobby of mods and upgrades on the reps will become.

Actually it was $110 for the pair (including the PVD buckles). I have just been emailing him about custom orders and he is happy to make whatever you want. I have also been doing a Veni and scouring ebay for old leather satchel bags etc, for my Vintage 6152. Think I just found something too!! So will be sending the leather of to Smat for a custom vintage strap.

Could someone tell me where I can send my watches off to get PVD/DLC? I know Jack at IWW does them but is there anyone else?

Rob, thanks for the compliment, coming from you is indeed an honour. Actually, and I'm sure Rob would agree, this type of dial is not as difficult as some due to the rep lume being very glossy to start with. It allows the new lume to flow more easily although run off is more of a danger.

That is a fine job. Wow, I am impressed and I now have to rethink some more purchases. As I love that dial!

111G or older. I don't really care for the sandwich dial on the H models...I do however love 'em on the Fiddy!

Skip Patpong for sure...I would either head straight to MBK...but do not do a motorcycle taxi from MBK back to the airport...you will regret that...once in MBK go straight upstairs to the dealers...do not screw around with the other distractions/shops etc...lots of gens up there as well...

or

stay at the airport, head upstairs and get a two hour massage, then go have a dinner at the thai airlines lounge restaraunt...a little overpriced by thai street food stalls' standards but the food is prepared in a clean environment, with good service...that way, you can rest assured that your stay in Jakarta will go smoothly and you won't spend your time in the loo while in Jak

Hello everyone...just found this board and the other forum and am quite pleased... Just dropped an order to EL for some Pannies...already own a gen 111 and 113 and a rolex TT Sub which really doesn't get a lot of wrist time thanks to the Pannies...

I own a shitload of OEM Pam straps as well as aftermarket from Dirk, TC, Paci, Strapmasters...just bought a Greg Stevens and it should be here soon. can't wait to add some more Panerai and maybe some others to my collection.
