thanks! so the elinvar in your GTG picture, is it 618 or 622? is the thickness/ height the same in both?
-
618 & 622, what is the difference?
-
hi G, first thanks for sharing... what a wonderful case you have created! is it a screw-in type construction? and can you pls show us more pictures of its side profile? thanks!
-
hi t, good news and great work!!! could you please pm me your email address, thank you!
-
super!!! this is some good info...
-
hi flex, thanks for your opinion and i do appreciate it...=) its just that it took much effort for me to restore and etc etc.... i think that as long as the final watch could be turned back to original then all is still good i guess...=) regards

hi alligoat, thanks for the pointers! who makes aftermarket 18k cases and are they 1:1? (pm me if you see fit)...=) since the 3035 will be for a modern sub, i was wondering if they will be made in 904L steel in the future, if so then it will really be sweet...=) does anyone know if the current modern reps are made from 316L steel or 904L as used by gen? many thanks!

hi freddy et al....=) sorry for the late reply as i have been little tied up with work...=) yes, you are right about what you've said... however, i do not just have the movement as i have a datejust (on strap) which is given to me as a gift (stainless steel with gold bezel, crown not original though). also the movement needs a over-haul now. the reason for this project is mainly that i feel a sports (sub etc.) model is more to my likings and would really love to have one as a daily beater...=) so pardon me, if you think my project is meanless but would really appreciate it if anyone could help me source the right parts (be it gen or rep) so that i can have a sub on my wrist. many thanks!

hi freddy, first of all, thanks! have you any idea of the dimensions (diameter and thickness) of the ETA and the gen movements? also, how much is one looking at for a gen sapphire crystal? im sorry for all the newb questions as i need to seek as much info as i can for this project (as i already have the mvt) thanks again!

hi all, can anyone please tell me which rep will fit a 3035? i am looking to do a franken project based on the 3035 movement that i have, possibly into a submariner or other sports models. and currently, who has the most accurate sub dial on the market? thanks!!!

hi jitai, good looking 001b!!! may i ask what case did you use for your 001b? and can we pls get a shoot of the cg? thanks!
-
man~~~ so from what the pictures tell us, only the C serial does not have a "dimpled" case? btw, thank you ubi for the pics i am getting confused again help anyone?
-
thank you, sir so i guess i need to have my cg polished now
-
hi ubi, was it a perfect fit? thanks for sharing!!!
-
thanks alot for your pictures, hope that you do not mind me using your previous ones as a reference have you any more pics on the back edge of the case to share with us? many thanks!!!
-
hi, thanks!!! honestly, i do not have any idea who made this caseback, it is supplied by one of the dealers but i do not think the issue lies with the types of caseback used. IMO, regardless of which caseback is used, the gap (distance) between the edge of the case and the caseback is still too close (compared to the gen). have you any pictures of your jimmy fu cases to share with us? many thansk!!!
-
hi all, after reading many posts regarding the accuracy of the jimmy fu cases, i did some research on the gen 01 for references. many things have been said about the jimmy fu cases, mostly that it is a 1:1 copy of the B-D series and that the main advantage of it is its ability to accept gen parts if one can find them... however, please take a look at the pictures of the gen (one from flavor flav and the other from the risti's website), there is no "dimple" on it at all...so i am a little confused here also, the gap (distance) between the caseback and the edge of the case is also wider on the gen than the jimmy fu. please help, anyone (esp. current jimmy fu owners)??? is this common on all jimmy fu's? much appreciated!!! p.s. sorry for the lousy pics and dirty watch
-
hi merlin, thanks! did you use a standard rep case (fiddy) for your project? was the internal diameter (and depth) of the case too big for the movement? thanks again!
-
hi merlin. would you care to tell us how you did this? many thank!!!
