  1. Ok sorry.. I am clearly have a slow night... So this is a Rep with a gen mvmt in it ? (looks fantastic... love the colours) Is there a story about this mvmt ? I also would love details on how to get in touch with Phong - if these are available Cheers
  2. Hello.. Well recently I received the 50th Ann Moonwatch from Eurotimez. Now the flaws here are well known.. no domed crystal and sub dial spacing is wrong due to the movement etc etc. But its still one of my favourites.. and a mighty fine looking watch. So I was thinking of buying the proper gen moonwatch case back and possibly the correct clasp as well.. Hopefully I have correctly chosen the right items below from cousins : http://www.cousinsuk.com/searchresults.asp...rchtext=X8543BB http://www.cousinsuk.com/searchresults.asp...archtext=X8543O Now I wondered if I should also get the : http://www.cousinsuk.com/searchresults.asp...archtext=X8543U (dust cover) http://www.cousinsuk.com/searchresults.asp...archtext=X8543Q (case back gasket) Do I need the above and will they fit alright on the rep ? Is there anything else I might need or should the clasp just fit on the rep bracelet ? And now a couple of piccies of the watch out of the box so to speak : Really pleased how the last photo came out.. good detail on the subdials..
  3. Sorry to hear that mate.... glad everyone is ok ! All the best
  4. Hi.. Heres a Omega Seamster I bought from the bay a couple of years back. I have so far not got round to getting it serviced or restored. I wondered if anyone here knew anything about these older models. I did post once on Chroncentric and got this reply : "Yes it is one of the late 60's seamaster models with one of the best vintage inhouse Omega calibers ever produced the cal 752, considered as one of the best omega automatic movements and superior to etas in terms of quality, accuracy and durability. It is a very good watch and far more valuable than the eta powered Omega you see today." I've not had the back off since it arrived..but its been running pretty well though losing a bit of time over a week. Now either I will pay to get it cleaned up/serviced or I may sell it as I have my eye on one of the Sinn divers watches so any idea how much these old seamasters are roughly worth ? apologies if I mess up the links.. first time sticking in photos..
  5. well mine says speedmaster... isn't it meant to have professional on it as well ? the clasp from cousins is
  6. quite a good selection here : http://www.watchworx.co.uk/ Very quick delivery... got my order next day !
  7. Problem now is.. I have the rep... like it lots.. really now want the Gen...
  8. Yes he does.. I got my 50th Anniversary from Chris a couple of days back.. he also has the normal moony as well Very very nice..
  9. I take it theres not much difference between the 7750 and 7751 then ? Yeah seen the add.. very nice watch.. my favourite out of the speedy date dials !
  10. Hi.. I have a 50th Anniv handwind speedy on the way.. and browsing the forum I came across the Day Date version. Now I have only been into reps and this forum a few weeks.. made a few purchases which have either been real cheap Asian 21J, one Swiss eta (a SOSF) and a couple of handwinds. From reading up the 7750 mvmnt seems to be a bit if a love/hate thing.. loved until it breaks, seems to be the way it goes. But I love this speedy.. and its seems to be nice and accurate.. but its 775X movement. So for those who have one (or in the know) how are they holding up ... I think the reps been out since the beginning of the year.. so plenty of time for it to have proven itself ? Any opinions.. being in the UK I am looking for a easy life (not really a modder..yet - so looking to buy and wear!).. especially since finding people to work on reps does not seem that easy Cheers Matt
  11. I have a 50th Anniversary Speedy on the way from Eurotimez... should have it next week Looks pretty good if you can get past the flat crystal etc
  12. Personally I am waiting to order the Vintage Explorer 2 (The Steve Mcqueen one) I'm not sure why but I prefer the straight lines and yellow markers over the triangles. That will be a future purchase also from eurotimez
  13. Hi, Thought I would post a quick note... Last Friday I got back from Turkey with a couple of Reps.. a Tag (a strange dial like a skinny oblong with a blue and white face (with screwheads dotted about.. no idea if its a fantasy or based on something real) and a Pam which was PVD with black and gold dial... again not sure its actually based on a real model. Neither cost much.. both autos of unknown movement. Now that got me thinking as I like Pams but will never drop a few thousand on a watch.. and I started to hunt the net for better reps... hey presto I arrived here. Now I am still investigating which Pams I want to get and how much I want to spend (do I go for the swiss movements - though they seem not be anymore - do I stay away from chronos and 7750) but thought I would try out a few of the dealers here for various goodies. From ebay I have a 16 watch storage box with plenty of space for the pams etc. I have a couple of rep boxes and Pam straps on the way from Pure Time A couple of pam straps from Homer and as a initial order 3 of the cheaper reps from Trusty... Once I work out which Pams to go for I will probably next try Eurotimez for couple of those as well. So on the way shortly are : B & R 42mm white face with power reserve IWC Pilot watch (the St Exupery model) Chopard Gran Turismo XL Looking forward to trying those out and seeing how the standard asian movements hold up. Next on the list is either the Breitling SuperOcean or Omega UPO and the Rolex Vintage Steve Mcqueen rep. So all in all only after a week I am kinda hooked. Just wanted to say thanks for all the helpful information / reviews / tips etc I have found here.. plus the great listings of collectors to purchase from.. makes the initial purchase a lot easier Thanks Matt
  14. hi Sorry for the newbie question. When buying the pam reps I presume I should ignore any marked as Swiss Unitas, save some money and get the cheaper Asian ones? So for example theres no reason to get the ultimate 127 fiddy over the $190 version? Or am I missing something? Thanks Matt
