On a related point, forum members and WISs represent a group of passionate, deeply invested watch enthusiasts. We must remember that many rep makers are avid gen collectors, and they rely on these forums to solicit a critical eye about the watches being produced. If we can be satisfied, then there's a good case to make it would be successful on the market. They might actually save money in market research by having us around.

I think so. Let's hope the collectors think so too!

That is a very cool looking watch there. I'm glad you kept it around long enough to see it back to health. Well done!
-
yes, get well soon. Here's to a very speedy and thorough recovery.

Does anyone know what kind of tourbillon is used in this rep? Is it an ST-80?
I can't tell from the size of the balance wheel.
Chinese flying tourbi used .. a nice working tourbi ..
Portugese Mystere Tourbillon

I was thinking of cutting back my reps..
edit add.. sorry.. swore I posted this up

I'd have to go with APs. I thought they were obnoxious things when I first entered this world, and now I think they're pretty great. But I think this is only because my need for a simple, elegant piece is found in other pieces, like an IWC. I also thought the Zenith Defy was a hunk of crap, but now I think they're fantastic and nuanced.

Classic case of 'if it seems too good to be true' then...
I agree. If they could rep this monster, then a seconds at 6 movement should be not thing. If you see a rep of this one offered on the web, keep walking, it's a scam.

That sounds exactly right. I hope I can get it fixed. It's one of my favorite pieces. Not accurate, but it's a beautiful timepiece on its own.
Thank you for your insight.

Hello all,
My Zenith Chronomaster open, the one with the seagull lemania movement inside (which I love so much!) won't wind up to full power. In fact, every time I try to wind it, the crown resists me so much than any power I put into the movement will spin back and the power reserve marker will fly back to zero.
Is this movement dead? Or can a watchsmith with basic knowledge fix this?
Help please. Really.

my god that's a beauty!

There's one on amazon for $250 bones. that's the only one I was able to find.

Very good article, thank you for sharing. It appears to me that any withdrawal by ETA would only benefit non-Swiss companies at this point. If Sellita is not going to even conceive of the possibility that non-swiss markets will jump in to fill a vacuum (meaning they will try to market a cost-effective substitute) left by ETA, then they're missing a crucial element of the game plan, right? The evidence of it is here in the Rep community.

It's a beauty. May it treat you well! Hornback won't look right with that watch. It's too dramatic, and the beauty of this piece is its understated lines.

Nice one! I love the 600 t-graph searambler. A grail watch of mine for sure.
BTW, Nanuq, Nice... Quoting Dante? Very cool.

these are fantastic. I want a doxa so bad. A 600t-graph searambler is haunting my dreams.

It's a fantastic watch. I would like a mat platinum Hublot. I like them when they have one color scheme for some reason. Great job, man. Enjoy.
-
I concur. The AP will wear a micron smaller than the Hublot. Although the Hublot will sit closer to the wrist which balances it out.
-
I am loving that gold Seamaster calendar. Congrats on your familial find.
I concur. The calendar is a beauty! They all are. well done, and good luck with whatever you decide to do.
-
that's not silly at all. I think this piece looks fantastic. the engraving on the back is super cool.

I have batted around the idea of letting this one go if anyone had interesting offers to make. PM me if you have any ideas.

I think it looks pretty cool. I always thought the overseas needed the bracelet though. That's just my opinion.
