  1. After much consideration, and trying every possible way, when I put the endlink between the lugs and look through the hole, I can see through the opposite hole but at the same time I can see that the alignment isn't perfect with the inner holes from the endlink. Therefore, I guess, a small piece of metal is the only thing in the way of those springbars actually springing in!

Thus, I'll probably sell my full 93150 bracelet, get some $$$ and wear this beauty on a cordovan leather.

Thanks all for your input and let me know if you see an alternative solution!

  2. Indeed, the case is POLEX L342 XXX. When held against the case, the endlinks are actually a little under the lugs (about 1-2mm). I honestly think they are genuine.

Then maybe I have a trouble with the drilling of the lugholes. The case was prepped by Justasgood, it was its old 1680 build ;)

    What should I do?

  3. Dear fellow members,

Long time no see, flooded with work, had the opportunity to move to the US, lived there for 8 months before returning to Europe and maybe coming back in a few months ;), I didn't have much time to share with the forum. I'm sorry for that.

As some of you may remember (or not), I was lucky enough to get Ubi to assemble a 5513 based on parts I had gotten. 2 years in the project, I finally found a pair of genuine 580 endlinks, only thing missing for a great watch. I got them this morning and guess what, they don't fit!!!!! :bicycle: :cc_hang:

I was under the impression genuine 580 endlinks would fit a old MBW case (or any mbw for that matter). I tried everything, with bracelet or just endlink and lug bar. Apparently, I can't get the lug bar to align with the lughole. I can't get them to fit in really.

Does anyone has any clues? any remedy? Otherwise, I would either have to find other endlinks (but come on, I now have a full genuine 93150 bracelet) or I'm thinking of selling the bracelet for $$$ and getting a really nice cordovan leather bracelet that would give the watch some edge!!!

    What do you think?

    Thanks guys :thumbsupsmileyanim:

PS: I'll try and find some time soon to do a proper review of the watch but I have a shitty camera at the moment.

  4. You find me a cheap source of rep 8mm crowns and I will gladly complete the modifications. It really doesn't make sense to put a $250 rep crown on a rep that only cost $70 to begin with :)

Love the build! Congrats! Can you share where you sourced this baby? Didn't know they were making cheap 6538 rep with the "correct" coin edge bezel!!! I want one of these now!

Is it the correct size, i.e 36 or 38mm, never remember which is the correct size a 6538 should be?

  5. I must say it looks wonderful. And I'd say your son will feel pretty good about owning a piece as old as he is.

One thing though, I personally prefer the one with lugholes. Wouldn't you be able to find the last one with lugholes sold the year of your son's birth? That'd be cool :thumbsupsmileyanim:

  6. I have one I'll be posting for sale pretty soon. Probably this week end if I have time. It is from BK, it is a WM9 V3 z serial and it comes with a perfect period correct (flat four) gen insert! No scratches no nothing on the insert. So don't dispair!

Anyhow, when I post it, I'll also post something on the forum to let everyone know! :drinks:

  7. Here we go-

It's a Bk/Wm9 V2 with gen crown/tube, gen insert and gen crystal. The gen crystal really sets this already incredible watch on fire!

You must admit I was pretty damn close! :victory:

Nice one, I gotta a V3 myself with gen insert. Might consider adding a gen crown and tube in the near future. If anyone has some in stock, drop me a PM! :drinks:

The gen crystal was a direct fit? No need for anything else?

  8. Folks,

are you sure this 5508 is a franken?

I'd say it's 100% gen. What master Ubi has to say on that one?

Anyhow, this one is a true beauty. Although I especially love the big crown, you have to remain speechless when in front of a sub like that, thin case, 37mm. Just Wowwww!
