  1. I have a trusted seller on the vintage rolex market/forum that I've bought many sets of OEM 2mm bars from. He usually gives me 3 pairs of bars for $20 shipped. We're both in the CONUS, though. Not sure of your location. PM if interested in his contact info.

Thanks. Indeed, you can check your inbox! :drinks:

  2. Very nice review Chi! Sure makes me want one :bangin:

If I understood correctly, cheaps but nice mods would be to throw a clark crystal, drill the lug holes a bit, silver DW maybe, a straight second hand (no more problem with the dot) and work on the CG's a bit. Age the whole thing a bit and you've got yourself a pretty nice watch!!!! :drinks:

    Might do that soon!

  3. LOL

    You guys crack me up!

I'll let you guys know when I get started here... Might be a bit before I get going though :)

BTW... Do you really want me to log this project in the manner as specified by Nanuq?

We want the "behind the scenes" feature! YES :Jumpy:

  4. Hey gang,

Sorry to chime in somewhat late; I haven't been on the forum in a few weeks. Chief and red alerted me to this thread; I can attest that this is indeed my old watch! WTF?! $40K US???

FWIW, rm88 did not purchase this one... It was another member.

Disappointing to say the least. I am always reluctant to sell my pieces as it is; this may have sealed the deal in convincing me to never sell another piece again...

    Wow! :black_eye:

Wasn't on the forum for a few days and I must say i'm so bumped about the whole story! How could someone try to pass off this super franken for what it's not instead of enjoying this true ubi masterpiece for what it is (which is a masterpiece!).

I know I showed some interest on Ubi's 7032 but just to make everything clear, I was definitely NOT the guy who bought it from Ubi! I wished! :whistling:

Thanks Ubi for taking my back on this one, from the first posts, it looked like I was believed to be the scammer! :wounded1:

Please, don't let them lessen your passion! We, here, need to witness all the fantastic builds you provide us with! They are true inspirations to a lot of people here! :drinks:

Thanks to the admins for reacting fast but not too fast! It seems like they took the proper time to ban the guy responsible for all of this.

  5. Fantastic builds! Congrats on the 4 explorers, they just look great (i have to admit the space dweller leaves me speachless :whistling: ).

The Rolex explorer 1016 was the first rolex watch that I truly loved and that practically got me into this hobby in the first place :bangin:

Keep up the good work and, just in case, if you ever decide to part from one of these beauties, think of me fast and your watch will sure enjoy its new home! :drinks:

  6. Holy--! That MOP looks phenominal! I can't believe that $138 is the entry fee to this beauty!

Reps have come a long way, my friends...

That is exactly what i thought when looking at the pictures!

Congrats to the buyer! What a nice watch for such a small price! The gen doesn't really look different! These DJ reps are so well executed! Might get one aswell. My heart is balancing between either this or a Milgauss!

  7. Hi Guys,

I was wondering if anyone has purchased a case from NDT. If so, what was your experience with the quality? I am really close to buying a 1665 GW case and have narrowed it down to NDT. The main difference I can see between the JAW case and the NDT case is the case stamping. The NDT has the incorrect E. I am not sure that it is worth it to spend an extra $500 on an already expensive project and especially on something I won't regularly see. i would rather put that money towards a better bracelet. But I do want a quality case. So, does anyone have anything they can share? Thanks so much in advance!!!!!

Cannot help you at all in this matter of feedback with NDT. However, i read somewhere that you could easily get a 20 to 30% discount off from the original price advertised by J&W. Take that into account (if you have not yet of course :bangin:). Maybe the difference between NDT and J&W won't be that important afterwards.

  8. Most of the gen Forum users are just owning a gen and thinking of themselfes as superior, but they do not know anything about the history, the movement and the small little things that make the watch so disirable. I love RWG because the people know what they are talking about and not just spending money on the watch that is most expensiv.

+1. RWG really is THE BEST :thumbsupsmileyanim:
