any newz on the mark XVI?
-
Sounds great.... Personally I've been begging at silix a couple of times as well, so apparently it pays off to make a lot of noize ;-)
-
It's crazy, we've been begging to have this one made for a long while now.
Totally agree... Eunomians and myself have been starting posts on the mk XVI for over a year now...
Bring it on!

For all fan's of the Hirsch racing strap.... please review this (old) thread I started once I received my GT XL....
http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=40286&hl=
Please be aware that there will be spacing between the lug's with the 22mm Hirsch strap as the lug width of the GT XL is 23 mm!!! :-(
I'm currently planning to visit the Mille Miglia next year (15 - 17 may) in Italy, so I'm glad I can at least wear a matching watch...
But now all those new chrono models are coming, I'm heavily tempted to go for one of those as well ;-)
-
thanks all... good to know I'm not making any unwanted claims by wearing my GST loud and proud!
Although I guess it's not that smart to actually mistake the fish symbol on the crown by submersing the rep under water without testing it at first ;-)
-
I did my research here and in google, but could not find more than the IWC claim:
IWC's motto is "Probus Scafusia", meaning "good, solid craftsmanship from Schaffhausen" and was established in 1903 as the "Official Motto."
There must be more history behind this, I guess? And what about the fish symbol? I only know this from the bumper sticker on a lot of religous owned cars ;-)
-
yep.... still waiting... over a year now!
-
I had a similar issue with a IWC GST Chrono once, but this was due to the fact that the edges of the slots in the caseback are to sharp. For now this means I will not wear the watch for more than one day or I have to get me some tool to soften the edges...
Godd luck Chieftang on solving this issue!

Big Pilot and little pilot XVI, too! This would be great news!
Indeed.... Both myself and Eunomians have been posting request to our famous collectors begging for a decent pilot XVI for a year now.

in order to make the transition from the weekend to the business week, I've allready swapped from the though 177H to the more stily 111H today...
Sunday and start of the week: 111H on BOB Sportivo Black
Saturday: 177H on Toscane Fiero

Hi Victoria,
I know this might be regarded as 'swearing in church' by posting I'm really happy with my cheap-ass 20USD Black BOB Sportivo on the 111H I got second-hand from Dutchy. It's a simple but thick leather strap which has been made water-resistant. At first it felt a bit like rubber when mounting straight out of the rubber envelope, but after spending a couple of nights on the spinning-bike at the gym, it got better and better. Now it has the nice leather structure, but not to disstressed. If anybody is still considering to buy a black leather for the 111H, stop searching and give BOB a PM...!
Enjoy the pic's!

Yay! I was sure you had bought it, though sad you stopped posting regularly soon after. Thought you were angry, Erwinner.
LOOK AT THAT PATINA!
Wow, you must wear yours every day.
It looks like a Havana cigar rolled on the thighs of Dutch maidens.
Thanks Madamoiselle!
Nop, nobody angry... just got some feedback from the home-front about spending too much time behind the screen and too little with the family
And as you allready noticed, spending time with the family pays off to get some decent 'wear' in the Fiero strap... In weekends this is indeed the favority combination with a pair of jeans and a shirt. Unbeatable!
One thing I noticed on the Fiero after wearing it for a month or so is the fact that the upper and bottem piece of leater is of different fabric. The upperside is the smooth tanned leather which fades in colour when bent and which gets the usual signes of wear at the sides from the buckle. The bottom side is thicker, less flexible and has no signs of wear from the buckle. No complaints from my side as the combination of both kinds of leather make up for an excellent thick strap which makes a statement everytime I wear the 177H.

I know, I know.... way to late to post the pic's of my 177H on Fiero strap, but hope you still appreciate it... at least I do, so thank you all for your kind help with most gratitude to miss. VBarret aka Madamoiselle Strap. After reading her strap capers and a reference to a one-day 50% off offer at www.timeconnection.biz I am now the proud owner of a 177H on fiero.... Who follows?
and of course some of the obligatory wrist shots (hey, it even looks great on my small wrists ;-)
-
love the strap on your 111.... Where did you get it?
-
I've posted the exact same question a couple of month's ago as well and am still waiting....
I guess the more request, the sooner our collectors will notice, don't you think?
anyway; as soon as it's released I'll place my order!

If you've ever been to Florence, the capital city of the Tuscan region, you may never have forgotten the colour of the Arno River, as you gazed at it from the Ponte Vecchio.
Now you do it again! Just as I've promised my wife not to be spending any more money on watches this month, you start referring to our most favorite European city! We try to go back to Toscany every year and spend at least one weekend in Firenze. And indeed; the Ponte Vecchio is one of those spots were every tourist is taking his/her best pic of the entire holidays (besides the one where you try to imagine the viewer that you save the Pisa tower from falling).
But if you like reliving the mediaval history of Toscany a MUST-SEE is the Palio in Sienna... spend 5 minutes watching this you-tube and tell me with straps you would recommend to relive this mediaval fairy tale....
By the way; Love your review again!

P.S.: I went to answer the door just now, and the delivery guy said "NICE WATCH!"...my DSN PAM 112h on custom-made dark Butterscotch Zeugma strap. YAY!!!
Be carefull with that delivery agency... as soon as the delivery guy realizes what's hidden in all these neat Asian packages he just might not be able to control himself

Thanx 4 all the comforting reply's... You're all totally right; nothing is easier than spending each monthly salary on more 'cheap' rep's and than spending next month's earnings on straps and mod's again ;-)
For this month I'm done having bought both Dutchy's 111H and Stutzer's 177H and ordering the Toscana Fiero strap.
Next month I'm in Greece with the family so will be spending the money over there
The lume on both the 111H and 177H are allready great. My wife asked me to put the watch either under the sheets or in the box; the glow kept her awake
Only mod I'm considering for now is the cannon pin fix. I've heard there's a simple fix where you can simply pop-in a add-on; or do we need to take the movement apart? Who can tell me how to do this the easy way?
-
The 177H fell between the bed and the matras and got scratched... it's not very deep, but visible both on the case and the crownguard. Can I fix it without sanding?
-
Just got my 111H from Dutchy.... Great to be able to choose between a TI 177H or a SS 111H daily depening on my mood...
Only I was wondered about the crownguard of the 111H. It's brushed while the case is polished SS. Should the CG also be polished or is brushed just like the gen?
And if it should be polished, how can I fix it? I tried mounting the CG of my PAM090 but it has different holes for the screws....

Hi Victoria,
As we've been PM-ing back-and-forth last week I knew what to expect, and have to say "It's just what any (business) men needs"!!!
After all of your suggestions and spending too much time behind the laptop (according the lovely lady at home) I'm dying for a review of the black strapculture legend...http://www.strapculture.com/legendmp/sclg-m870.html
I guess this is the more 'neutral' choice to mix with both grey and darkblue suits and still wear a powerfull strap.
Who can help Victoria out to do a review on this beauty?
