  1. So browngo1 what Is your opinion/impression of your new Breitling Seawolf?

    Thanks for asking Maxman.

I'm over the moon with this one, especially as a short time ago I thought I'd missed the boat when it went out of production.

The dial is fantastic, although if you want to be completely anal about things, perhaps the 2 is very very slightly thicker than the other numbers? This might just be me.

The lume dots are fine, although they do seem very small (not sure if they are any bigger on the gen), but a big improvement on my Skyland, which has the dot at 4 partly off centre of the circle it should be in. The rest of the lume, 6, 9, 12 and the hands, looks fine too.

The bracelet has very sharp edges, as does the clasp, but nothing a very light rub with some emery won't sort. Not sure if it's because it's brushed and not polished like the Skyland, but the clasp seems much tighter and stiffer to open and close.

The bezel is ok and lines up properly and the crown feels solid with practically no play at all.

The date lines up in the centre of the window and is a modern looking font, although I'm aware it probably isn't correct. It is however, in keeping with the watch.

I haven't checked it for accuracy yet, but I think it is running slightly fast.

All in all, I'm really pleased with it and glad I eventually got one.

I might go for the black Ocean Racer strap further down the line, as I love the pics I've seen on here with the black and yellow combo.

  2. Guys --

I have the gray version with the so called "incorrect date font." Literally, the only way anyone would know is if they are a rep wolf expert, or they had the gen in their hand. This is one of the best out of the box reps in existance -- not only aesthetically, but because of the gen Swiss movement. You can count on your hands how many reps actually have a gen ETA inside. The thing just feels gen -- and I know, a buddy of mine has the gen in black and I stared at them both, side by side for an hour! Holds up really well.

Thanks JKDDUDE, now I want mine to arrive even sooner!!! :Jumpy:

  3. I'm sure you're spot on with that analysis - we can go a bit overboard sometimes in our quest for perfection!

Coincidentally, between my earlier post and this one my Yellow Seawolf has arrived - and I'm absolutely delighted with it. I'd never actually had one on my wrist before - it's a big chunk of watch (and I've got 7.5 inch wrists) but it feels great.

I'll post some pics in a new thread when my HK Tan strap arrives to complete the look......

Looking forward to seeing your new 'Wolf, Andy.

I'm still waiting for Josh to send me some pics of the one I'll have soon, hopefully.

  4. Sadly, Josh's no longer have the correct date font otherwise I would have ordered mine from him - he's a great dealer.

Considering the overall quality of the replication, I guess I can live with the incorrect date font. As long as it's not in Chinese!!!!! ;)

I doubt very much if anyone would know it's not the correct date font unless there was a gen next to it.

  5. Hi,

My 1911 arrived yesterday and even after reading the reviews about the quality of the replication, I am still amazed!

Ordered it from Joshua on the evening of 4th August and it arrived yesterday morning, 10th August.

Took 1 link out of the bracelet and it fits perfectly. No micro-adjustment on this bracelet.

I removed each of the bracelet screws and replaced them using Loctite 222.

Some of the bracelet links were a little stiff so I treated the whole bracelet with Squirt, bike chain, dry lube and now its silky smooth.

(This is a great product for this as it is odourless and leaves no greasy residue. Request a free sample at www.squirtlube.com)

Wore the 1911 most of yesterday and it appears to have lost only about one second overnight.

The only thing I found wrong with it is that although the large chrono second hand operates as it should with the pushers, the sub-dials at 12 and six don't work at all, but as the chrono isn't something I use anyway, I'm not bothered enough to request another one from Joshua. Anyway, it's possibly something which could be rectified when it gets serviced in the future.

I've taken a few quick photo's this morning and added them below, sorry they're not that good:

  6. I was planning to buy an Ebel 1911 Dicovery, panda dial from Precious Time and had got the price and ordering information etc. from PT, who I must say replied to any emails very quickly and politely.

However, I went to WU online and entered my details and then had to call a premium rate number to basically give them all the details again. I was asked all sorts of questions by a guy who could hardly speak English and when I asked him why he needed to know where I worked he said if I didn't have anything to hide I wouldn't have a problem answering his questions! I asked him exactly what he was implying and he said "My friend, if you don't like the way we do business you should go to another company."

    Guess what I did?

So, unfortunately, as PT is only accepting WU payments at the moment I had to cancel my order with him.

I've re-ordered with Joshua at Perfect Clones, as I got my Skyland from him previously, and he takes credit cards.

I wanted to give PT a chance as he is supposed to ship from the UK and it's probably less risky as far as customs go, but as a potential new customer of WU I can't believe the way I was treated.

Just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with WU?

  7. I'm thinking about getting my first PAM and I like the look of the updated 036 from Josh.

I've done a bit of research looking at info from PAM experts on here already and I know that the older version is regarded as better.

However, I really just want to know if it's worth getting as a first PAM.

I have never met anyone wearing a Panerai of any description, gen or rep, so it's unlikely that it's going to be called out as a rep because of some minor imperfections.

I'm not into getting lots of mods done to make it closer to a gen, I just want to know if it's really any good?

  8. Does anyone know if any of the trusted dealers sell any good reps with the ROLEXROLEX engraving spaced correctly on the rehaut?

Basically, the "X's" should line up with the 1,2,3,4 & 5 hour markers and the "R's" should line up with the 7,8,9,10 & 11 markers.

I saw one example, but can't find the thread again, where the spacing was correct, but the rest of the rep was a disaster.

I'm thinking Rolex might go down this road with more and more models in the future, so isn't it something the rep factories should try and get right?

  9. Yeah right. Chris DOES dropship! He's in Thailand and dropships from China. It's still a role of the dice. No reason to pay extra!

Hey, I'm only trying to pass on info I've found on here from other members.

I know Chris is in Thailand and the reps come from China, all I'm trying to say is that an order is not sent out direct from the factory.

According to what I've learned here, Chris gets someone in China to give each order a once over, after it leaves the factory, before it gets shipped.

  10. Eurotimez prices are slightly higher because they don't dropship and they carry out their own quality control checks.

This means that there is less chance of someone getting a watch with the cyclops postioned wrongly or a bracelet with a dodgy clasp, etc. etc.

If anyone has registered and can't access the new site send Chris an email and he'll get it sorted for you, he normally replies within 24 hrs.

Have a look at his post below for more information about Eurotimez:
