  1. Andrew tells me I'll have mine by the end of the month. Not sure if I believe him, but I really don't have a choice.

    ::: waiting sux :::

    You're not wrong! I ordered on 30th April from Joshua and I've been checking my email 2 or 3 times a day for the past couple of weeks, hoping for some QC pics.

  2. Man that thing is sick! The strap is awful with the mold marks but that can be corrected with a gen as you have said. After seeing this yesterday I immediately emailed Josh to get my status and as others have indicated he has only sent out 3 and others will follow shortly. That doesn’t help as I was content to wait when it was only a production sample but now… I’m freaking out here :shock:

    Me too bro.

  3. Welcome, Mr. W.

    fitmic's right, only buy from one of the Trusted Dealers and you'll be ok.

    The other important thing before you buy is research, research, research and then research some more. The information available on here is fantastic and a very enjoyable part of the hobby.

    Enjoy your stay

  4. I'd say you repair or service that watch you really love.  I can see the point of not spending a fortune if you can buy a new  rep watch for alittle more, but sometimes that watch is not available anymore. On the other hand, I think spending $ 100 servicing  an ETA iwatch s not that out of consideration, since the same service would cost you $ 200 or more if the watch is a gen like a Longines, Omega or the like.

    I agree.

    Almost all reps are going to need serviced at some point in time. Some sooner than others, but if you keep replacing them when they fail it won't be long until you've spent way more than the cost of servicing.

  5. There's a guy that drinks in my local who knows everything about everything. You all know the type.

    Basically, he regards himself as a watch collector because he buys one every time he goes on holiday. A while back he said, "I must have over a hundred watches, but I don't have any Rolexes, although I do have a few expensive ones that cost me about £200." You get the picture.

    Quite often he'll comment on the watch I'm wearing and ask what it is. He hasn't heard of Panerai, Ebel or Chopard, but, "Patek Philippe, yeah I've heard of them, they're French aren't they!"

    Anyway, he was in the local last night and asked me what the time was. I saw he was wearing one of his extensive collection, so I asked if his watch had stopped.

    "No, it's a self-winding one and it loses about 5 minutes every hour, because I don't move my arm about very much. I'm going to go and get the next bus and just wanted to check what the correct time was."

    I told him what the time was.
