You guys are all very dangerous with crazy ideas Pretty soon I'll be sleeping under a bridge, walking everywhere I go and cuddling at night without my gf but instead some breitlings.
-
Totally, I blamed you in front of my gf. Now, you can blame me and get the blue dial
-
hey Guys. I should point out not to cause confusion. Both these are gens from an AD. MSRP is $4550-usd each. These are the new 2008 dials. I'm not sure if they make replicas yet for this model?
-
Picked these two up. Most people like the white, I lean more towards the black
-
Hey Congrats! I have the skyland version. As far as I know, they have all been sold to dealers, each as you said with a waiting list. There was one on ebay listed for $5900- What was the MSRP for the super avenger blacksteel?
-
It seems most with gen super avengers go for the white. Here on this forum, the skylands are usually chosen in black. You guys want to share your opinions which way to go for the super avenger? WHITE OR BLACK.
-
thanks guys. A little research on my part shows the 2008 Super Avenger has been given a make-over. Perhaps when the reps get caught up they can make some adjustments to improve the current rep.
-
hey Guys. I've been looking at the Super Avenger and see that it is much expensive than the Skyland version. I'm aware that the Skyland is the updated V2 version but how about the Super Avenger?? Is the current Super Avenger already the updated "better" version or are we still awaiting for the release of a V2 Super Avenger?? Btw, where can I get a red rubber strap instead of the black and blue. thanks guys.

Where can I get a pvd B&R rep with red arms? prefer the chrono in 46mm any ideas
-
Does anyone know where you can find a variety of reps- ie. various brands other than maybe hublot with Valjoux7750 movement? Other than the dealers which advertise on this forum, anyone else out there carrying higher end reps? thanks
-
how are you Andrew. What do you mean by red limited number in the back? There is nothing red according to my knowledge on the gen. Btw, anyone know when this v2 will be available for sale

My Breitling Blacksteel V3 Has Arrived ...

Are all V1's too dark or are they inconsistent from watch to watch? Btw, how long did it take for you to receive the watch from day of order? thanks again. -
My Breitling Blacksteel V3 Has Arrived ...

The back case should display a Limited edition in black and the model number is in a larger font in black compared to the serial number. Just want to point that out as I'm looking at my gen. Either way, it looks cool and I would like one too -
My Breitling Blacksteel V3 Has Arrived ...

hi Wheaton. Thanks for posting your new toy. I'm eager to find a good blacksteel replica myself. Could you confirm if the color is as dark as it appears in person? It looks darker than that o the gen and perhaps too reflective as the gen is more dull. Also, what is with the name v3? I thought a v2 was to replace the current v1. best -
I can't wait for the v2 blacksteel. I'm thinking of getting the V2 skyland avenger in stainless steel. So I need to ask you guys if the blacksteel has all the same markings as the as the stainless steel version? I'm also assuming the V2 blacksteel and stainless currently available is replicated at the same level of correctness? Look forward to hearing back.

Good Catch. I didn't notice that until you pointed that out.

Without the aid of a macro lens or 3x loupe it would likely take most of us a minute or two to tell the difference. These new reps are just that good. Knowing the gen intimately is not enough to differentiate. You have to know the rep as well to understand the differences. hi Andrew. I see you are from Toronto, my hometown before moving to the states. btw. there is currently a blacksteel on ebay from toronto You mention using a lens. But what would you focus on? Would you simply look for imperfections due to lower quality control on the rep? and learn as you go looking back and forth? or are you aware of any special details which are simply not cost efficient to duplciate when making the rep? Thanks guys for taking the time to respond. I appreciate the information to what you'd should focus on when distinguishing btw a rep from a gen blacksteel. The members here are very detailed orientated and certainly very knowledge-perhaps even better at pointing out the differences to some collectors of genuine pieces. Those photos I had posted earlier was of a geniune blacksteel, a watch I have in my collection. I signed up here to learn from everyone here and am glad that I had done so. I have learned much of the emphasize once again was on the lume dot-when judging a photo, without the aid of handling the actual piece. I would love to get my hands on the best rep money can buy, which probably is the much anticipated v2 and examine them closely in my hands to see if really other aspects of the rep are as good as many have said here on this forum. Of course, the blacksteel being a limited edition, is not something one would find easily at a Breitling AD. Actually, I checked out all the stores in Manhattan last month and no one had one in stock. If anyone here has a genuine blacksteel and a rep, I would love to hear your opinion. Anyone here think an eyepiece over a rep and a gen will easily seperate the two, checking the details/quality of the dial or the marks on the finish? take care
-
I have read all the posts that I can find about the blacksteel rep, and it seems the emphasize has always been on the lume dots. This is why I want to know how the rest of the watch stands up. But since we can only post pictures, it really limits when any can do to verify if the one shown is real or a fake. My goal is to get a real and a rep in my hands and really study it for details.
-
Thanks guys for taking the test and answering my post. I will post the answer later for anyone else that wants to know 100% if this specimen is the real deal or a rep. But just how different is the rep vs. the real feel if one were to compare one to the other in your hands? Will the rep stand a chance? 1)How is the quality of the rubber on the rubber band, the clasp or in this case the much more simple pin? 2)Are their weight identical? 3)Will the push button for the stop watch and the crown be a giveaway? 4)And finally the 3 -dimensional aspect with the arms and the details of all the markings on the dial be easily picked out with the naked eye under close inspection?
-
I posted some pics of a blacksteel sitting in what appears to be an original breitling case-is that a dead giveaway. It this real or fake? Tell me what you see and why you think it is real or fake.

hey guys. I'm a newbie here to he forum. I read over and over about the "lume" dot at 3 being the most easily recognizable factor in the rep. Could someone kindly explain what is the lume dot? Are you all refering to the lumenescent dot at 3 o'clock not being properly aligned as I believe I see a white circle drawn used to guide the white dot? Can someone please take the time to educate me? thanks.

Recently found this forum from a referal through a watch collector. Signed up as I find this forum very interesting and didn't know something as unique as this existed. I'm logging on from the united states, anyone else? Please introduce yourself regardless where you are from. I have a few watches in my collection. I won't disclose whether they are real or rep. I'm thinking to putting some pics up and test you all. chat soon.
