  1. Is that two hands up for you Lani? Great photos btw and thanks for sharing as I enjoy reading your posts. So why do I ask......actually, I just wanted to gauge how people on the forum value this new TG. Pricing a product can be hit and miss, and not until it is put onto the market will one know how the people/consumers value the item. I myself like the ceramic IWC and would even consider getting a gen. However, I think imo, that the gen is overpriced at $7000- usd not to mention $10800- for the doppel and non of these are truely limited watches. So a rep, especially one as good as this can be a solution until I really decide whether or not to go with the gen. Funny enough, many members here have voiced their opinions in regards to the pricing on the rep also. Stating that it is overpriced and in some ways I would agree, especially when there is dust inside the crystal and with mechanical failures immediately upon delivery. So far we know there are 5 or 6 sold, I'm guessing Lani probably has two so he doesn't have to change straps for the evening look. Would like to know if there are more. keep up the good work guys!
  2. Just of curiosity. Can we get a show of hands just how many has bought the new TOP GUN?
  3. that is freakin cool! Now, I do hope you live in a safe neighbourhood, otherwise any thiefs who see this would think they'd hit the jackpot. Of course, you could also get a couple big dogs to run around loose in the house.
  4. Very nice. I'm still waiting here for my order on the BS and my strap from HKtan:( CNY really slowed everything down.
  5. Thanks for the very informative response. Do you know what IWC uses on their top gun watches? They call them ceramic.
  6. With the recent explosion in popularity of black watches. Terms like Ceramic, pvd and DLC have come up often in the description of material utilized in time pieces. Can someone share their wisdom and try to explain just how these are different and perhaps which is a coating versus a material that is simply uniform throughout the layers in the watch case. Many black watches in the past were not very durable and any damages to the surface material will reveal the bare alloy underneath. Is this still true? thanks
  7. It seems nowadays, every watch company is coming out with their verision of black pvd/dlc/ceramic watch. Just check the new releases of SIHH 2009 on JLC, GP, even IWC again. We all love the Breitling BS, and the IWC Top Gun was hot and often sold out. But just how long will this trend last? More importantly, will these watches hold their value in the future compared to their stainless siblings? BTW, to save me some time...........anyone here know if the TOP GUN reps are as good as the Breitling? Let me know if there is a v1 and v2 etc...Note that the TOP GUN has more then one version so I need to know which on is replicated. thanks!
  8. Just ordered mine from Josh. My curiosity got the better of me as I've always wanted one to compare to my gen side by side. Once that's done, it might go to the for sale forum:)
  9. thanks guys for your response. Hey Dave, I appreciate your re-assurance on the shipping. I was going to use Josh if I was to go ahead with this one:)
  10. Hey guys. I just want to make sure that it will last some time on average before spitting out $450-usd. Nowadays, everything is on sale, even gen watches but I guess not for reps:( Besides, with the exchange rate of the US dollar, I think the price should reflect the better exchange rate. I have another question for those who have bought reps and had shipped overseas. In the event the merchandise is confiscated, do they send you a second one or does the buyer request for shipping at his own risk?? Please keep the responses coming about the reliability issue. thanks guys
  11. Any with the V2 blacksteel experience any mechanical failures or see any defects yet on this model?
  12. Hey Lani, I would love to be able to make some contribution to this thread, but I'm sorry to say I don't have a micrometer
  13. hey Guys. Thanks for the great review. I read each pointed noted carefully and examined my gen using a loupe. I only want to add that the rehaut under the numeral is a line and not a dot on my gen. All other features pointed out were very accurate. enjoy the watch
  14. A 30min search and no match. I recall that vendor likes to price some of the omegas at $108-. Does that ring a bell to anyone?
  15. hey Guys, I saw this omega seamaster chrono, the regatta model on a vendors webpage not long ago and can't seem to find it now. can someone suggest where to look, I'm in the process of going one by one and still can't find this dam watch. Any one know where? thanks guys
  16. notice he has a perfect score and over 200 feedbacks but is selling fakes on ebay, but I guess at least he is honest where he points out his special treat in the bundle
  17. dial looks good but certainly him not being interested in responding and the non matching model number draws suspicion. Only model number 2569.52 has the black bezel. The old model number was I believe 2569.50. Also he has no third card so the watch could be pieced together by someone when he bought it. BTW, check out this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/LOT-OF-5-WATCHES-INVIC...alenotsupported Watch #5 is the centerpiece
  18. http://cgi.ebay.com/OMEGA-SEAMASTER-AMERIC...alenotsupported Item # 250325267375 I reported the above watch following the steps under the pinned topic. Item is still listed after 3 days. This is one of my favourite watches so I happen to know a few of it's details. This model number pertains to a model with a silver bezel not black. I've asked the seller to confirm any mods and he said nothing. I also asked him if this was a titanium model which he replied no. The picture clearly shows a lack of shine normally seen in stainless steel omegas. Finally, I told him I was interested and asked for more pictures, upclose shots, he never responded. I personally have watches, gens on ebay and feel it is part of my duty to keep cheaters and fraud off ebay. I get international bidders all the time wanting to pay me using eschrow-most of these people are involved with fraud as they want to pay more than asking and want you to reply asap. Of course, they will lead you step by step with details in their email how to register with eschrow. Am I doing what I should to warn other ebayers? how else would you approach these situations?
  19. hey Ztech, I put my loop over the red "line", actually not a dot as I called it earlier. It is very precious and clean in appearance. Looks almost rubberized in nature, and of course I'm sure it has been tested by omega for durablity against the regular elements: ie. moisture, acidity, heat etc. Don't think it is something that can be easily duplicated at home, of course I wouldn't doubt that these rep manufacturers can do it if they tried. But if no one is putting this on reps, it may serve to recognize gens over reps easily. I've not had any of my omegas serviced as of yet as they are all relatively new, so I'm not sure if omega puts this red line back on after servicing.
  20. Do any of the more expensive omega reps have this in the back?
  21. Of course I am refering to production of a new design or update like this model. Otherwise, annual production estimates could simply be through sales number of previous year. What would they do with a huge surplus of on dial color, dump it all on wholesalers? But in any case, I'm surely wasn't a fan of the old black dial with the white subdials and certainly would never buy one. btw, ever seen anyone else quote themselves?
  22. Has any seen any replicas try to imitate the factory red dot seal on the case back? Anyone know how this is applied and the type of material used?
  23. I thought I was alone in liking the black dial equal if not more than the white dial. All the AD and forums voted white over black. I wonder how breitling decides how many of each dial to make and in what proportions splite between different dial colors.
  24. No wrist shots yet. The watches still have the factory sticker over the clasp. I can't get over the idea of tearing them off. Sort of like a little kid staring at the band-aid that he/she knows it needs to eventuall come off.
