  1. Hey, I never kinked an hypotenuse in my life. I may have bent a few parabolas, but who hasn't?

Wow, you guys are tougher than the Math Club.

Anyway I'm over whole integers (which is a redundant term BTW), repeating decimals are where it's at. I mean, when you're travelling through Euclidean space, are you gonna land on Mars @ 20?, Venus @ 45, Alpha Centauri @ 105,000,000? Doubt it.

So, don't take the test. See what I care. I cheated anyway. You are allowed any constant between 1-9. Everyone just assumes integers. If you use 'Pi', you get '8.'

If you use 'cake' you get '2.' So yeah. Math burn.

  2. Was actually thinking last night; why don't you just mill an 'homage' watch? There are 7750 chrono <'kits'> on Ofrei and similar.

The asymmetrical pusher arrangement of the vintage Rolex chronographs would present a lot of problems in both the milling and adaptation to the 7750 . You could go the route of say 'Tudor'post-16923-125588636208_thumb.jpg get a nice piece in the endeavor and probably go down in RWG history. There are a lot of 'Frankens' floating around here, but I don't think anyone has yet built a watch from stock.

Hey, I know, produce a run of say 100pcs., get a contact in Guangzhou to run you off "RWG" dials and you could offer them to the membership and.................ummmmm, naaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

    Good luck!

  3. self banning's [sic] as such not permitted on RWG.

Oh. That would explain why member 'Dave123' is still registered. If he had his way, he'd been self banned to Titan* by now.

    * Titan; one of Saturn's 61 orbiting bodies.

  4. Cute.

Were you the one that stated a while ago on R1, that the abuse of punctuation marks drove you crazy?

No, that were Clive. I was the one abusing the punctuation to those ends. Ahhhh, no return of the salad days.

    @ Col

It's just linear algebra Col. you know, this stuff; 3x+4y=5 or 4x+6y=8. I could prove it, but why bother? Numbers do not lie. By dialectics it too can be proven; I am a multiple of '9'. Jimi Hendrix once postulated; If 6 were 9. He died before I could set him straight.

  5. I thought of it more as a roast rather than a flaming.

    Ooooooh, OK, my bad.

Well then, 'Bored' ? Aren't you getting married soon? You should have stark raving fear for the future to keep you more than well 'occupied' in the quieter moments................ :p

  6. C'mon P4, don't drag me into a flame fest.

You really want to know what happened to 'Highflyingclive'?

After years of my abuse he jumped off a foot bridge into the River Wey, down stream from the Yvonne Arnaud theater, Guildford. They found him floating face down, across from the "White House" pub. Oh, the irony.

    Back home, which at this point, was breduced to a garden shed replete with dirt floor and third hand 'Tandy' floppy drive PC with monochrome monitor was the old RWG page open in reply to the last post he would ever read;

"Brilliant post 'Dimsey'! Was there a point there? I, I, I.............."

    So..............

Hey, if you really are bored, go on over to 'Humour' and take the <Role Model Test>.

  7. FIND OUT WHO TRULY IS YOUR ROLE MODEL. DON'T SCROLL DOWN YET.

DO THE SIMPLE MATH BELOW, THEN SCROLL DOWN TO FIND YOUR HERO.

It's CRAZY how accurate this is!

    No peeking!

    1) Pick your favorite number between 1-9

    2) Multiply by 3 then

    3) Add 3

    4) Then again Multiply by 3 (I'll wait while you get the

    calculator....)

    5) You'll get a 2 or 3 digit number....

    6) Add the digits together

    Now Scroll down

    >

    >

    >

    >

With that number, see who your ROLE MODEL is from the list below:

    1. Einstein

    2. Oprah Winfrey

    3. Snoop Dog

    4. Bill Clinton

    5. Bill Gates

    6. Gandhi

    7. Brad Pitt

    8. God

    9. Demsey

I know, I know....I just have that effect on people. One day, you too can be like me.

    Why are you laughing???

P.S. Stop picking different numbers!!! I AM YOUR IDOL ..... JUST DEAL WITH IT!!!!!!

  8. Sometimes I lie awake at night pondering just this question, then I think "fug it" and go back to sleep. :animal_rooster:

    Ken

I know what you mean Ken. You have to get over the 'little stuff' in life. It's like, now that President Obama is in seat, and the world once again 'likes' America, I can stop tossing and turning over what I feared the good people from the Principality of Liechtenstein thought of me.

Could we discuss something a little mor important in life? Like boxers v briefs? Life is two short(s).

  9. Been on the lookout for a new boat and been taking some pics myself - but not sure how the budget will go.

Wow, Cornerstone I like your potential boat TWICE as much as the one Dems is drooling over!

    LMAO!

"Hun, yes, yes, I do love you, and we'll have plenty of time for that after breakfast, but, I'm not a machine. I'm a human being, with feelings. For boats. Eight paces to the right please."

Crikey, why does it always have to be about her?

  10. Well, sorry for your state P4, but, I'm feeling a little bored and low too. I've been wanting a new boat, a specific model, and things are kinda tight with the recession and all.

To make matters worse I went boating last week-end with the wife and I saw 'my' boat sailing on by and I took a pic of it. Damnit!

There's no justice in this world. When the hell will it be MY turn? WHEN!

    post-16923-125571509313_thumb.jpg

  11. Wow! Nice start there. Love it!

I would love to have success in 'ornamentals' and have tried, but I have a 'brown thumb'. I have suffered such financial loss and frustration that I had to go in another direction.....................

    front.jpg

Although very unassuming an not impressive, this shot of my front yard was actually 'planned and landscaped from scratch'. The Live Oaks were standing on 'open lawn' when we moved in. All the shrubbery (save the one Sego Palm, center) and a few specie trees are all native to Florida, and I harvested them myself. Discovered on nature walks from the rural. As they were native 'over there' they thrive 'over here'. I actually do zero for them. They are happy to just do their thing. The price was right too :)

You may want to consider such an approach? It's fun, especially if you have kids and get them involved. It's like a treasure hunt. You bring a field guide along and you learn buckets. Some 'weed' varieties do well also in this vein, like Morning Glory and Moss Rose, good ground covers.

My only other suggestion to the general is fragrance. An often overlooked aspect to landscaping. I use Sugar Magnolias for this as they are native, but you may want to try a Jasmine (climbing/vining), Gardenia or similar. Just go light. A little wafting by every once in a while ttrough an open window is heaven. Getting smacked in the face by it walking into the back yard can actually turn your stomach!

Good luck. Keep posting the progress!

  12. jus trying to follow in some big foot steps D. :notworthy:

Ha! Now who's talking to, 'bout, one's own self?

You just keep and maintain your even strain with regard to; Horology, raffles, membership upgrades, pictorials, camaraderie, noob mentoring, shout-out box, and general forum support. You know, the periphery.

I'll continue to bear the brunt; the self engraciating, borderline megalomaniacal, self indulgent posting of ethernet folklore and general tomfoolery. Capice` ?

    Capice`.

We all have our part. -_-
