  1. After many weeks of waiting (I order on 6th October) my watch arrived on Thursday (12th November). I ordered the V5 and requested it to be fitted with the high beat DG4813 (it is $178 plus shipping) and after a long wait it finally arrived. Here are some pics I have just taken i will take some lume pics later if anyone is interested, but it has been seen before and it is a nice blue.
  2. Here is a quick pic taken with my iPhone of a pre 2000 model Daytona (seconds at 9) that I just got from Silix. Yes the subdail spacing is wrong but I felt this was a better (more reliable) option. I notice they have been taken off the site now as it took him a month to find me one.
  3. My 4813 version that I ordered on 4th October was finally sent out today, (got my tracking number today), so once I have it in my hands I will post plenty of photo's for you to view if you like?
  4. Any chance of any lume pics? Would be good to see if there have been any improvements there too.
  5. Looking good, nice comparison. I have the DG4813 high beat version on order so should be just as good as a ETA clone but at a much better price. I will post pics once mine arrives if anyone is interested?.. shouldn't be too long now as I just approved the photo's from Eurotimez.
  6. Does anyone have any tips on how to fade the dial to give it the aged look?
  7. I've not been active for a while but I recently bought a new camera and I also bought myself a budget priced Milsub so I thought I would share some photo's with you. I really like the look and feel of this and I know it has flaws, but for the budget price that it cost, I dont think it's half bad? I do think I need to leave it in the sun and do some 'ageing' on it now though, it looks far too new for a 35-40 year old watch, what do you guys think?
  8. Hi guys, I thought I would show you this, my latest purchase from over at one of the other forums who claims it is from a new manufacturer? Seems to have a nice bevelled edged date window too.
  9. I would suggest a DW case. PM sent.
  10. I have an old Daytona (seconds at 9) rep that I bought back in 2000 (running what I beieve is an asian 7750) and it has kept great time and had a lot of wear, however the red 'Daytona' has completely faded away on the dial. I bought a seconds at 6 dial and movement complete to drop into this case, but the dial is about 2mm too small so doesn't look right. I was wondering if it was possible to get a new dial for it, but to be correct for this rep I believe it should to be this model dial? This is my current dial (as you can see the 'Daytona' has completely faded away). Here is the seconds at 9 movement: Any comments, advice or even information as to who made this case etc would be appreciated, again I bought this back in early 2000 and has worked fine and never missed a beat and has been swimming in several oceans in the past.
  11. I would also be interested to know if anyone in Europe could either build or supply such a franken
  12. I'd also have to go with gen on this one, all things considered and looking at the glass and rehaut. Very nice either way
  13. Welcome aboard Michael, great to have a UK based watchmaker on the forum willing to do work on our reps, I suspect you will become VERY busy very quickly. PM sent about some work from me
  14. mine has a '727' under the balance wheel
  15. Good luck with your new investment CableGuy, I'm sure you will be as please with yours as I am with mine. Mine is indeed a DW and mine is fitted with the V23.
  16. After seeing another post for this 'lite' version (Here) I thought for $98 you really can't go wrong so I odered one to check it out. Well mine arrived today and it weighs in at 149g feel good in the hand although the bracelet needs an oil. Here are a couple of pics straight out of the box. It appears I got one with a bad pearl though Oh well, at this price I really can't complain and it's easily rectified.
  17. I contacted TomHighway in September and although he did send 1 reply, I am still waiting for him to reply to the next 3 PM's I sent him.....I decided he cannot be relied upon. I am based in Yorkshire and wish there was a modder/watchmaker here on the forum that was willing to do work for the UK members, I think it's fair to say he would get plenty of work. We need someone who can service, repair, re-lume, waterproof, CG mods etc etc here in the UK
  18. Hi Cableguy, Yes, you have to have one 'built' to order. Good luck.
  19. Hi, Welcome from the UK. You have joined a community of great people. Cheers Simon
  20. I have to say (although it's early days) I'm very impressed with the movement so far, it's currently losing just 7-9 seconds per 24 hours and it feels sweet when it's wound.
  21. Today and this weekend I'll be wearing the latest addition to my collection
  22. No I have 16 in total, of which 7 have been bought in the last 6 weeks
  23. Yes I had noticed the 727 and wondered if this was normal to see on the Mystery Movement? I couldn't resist a couple more photo's, I really love this watch
