  1. I think my addiction is taking over and I need to go into rehab :o

I have been collecting reps for arround 6 or 7 years but since joining this site I can't seem to control myslef :)

In the last 6 weeks I have bought:

A Rolex Blue dial Two Tone (Swiss eta 2836)

A Rolex GMT MasterIIc (swiss eta 2836)

    A WM9 Rolex Submariner

and a DW Daytona 6263 with a V23 movement (direct from the man himself)

I also have on order waiting to arrive

A Brietling Super Ocean Steelfish (white dial with both brown leather and metal bracelet)

A Rolex Super Sea Dweller 'lite'

    A Rolex 1665 Double Red

I think I need help

  2. Guys,

I have just opened up one of my old two tone subs that's still going strong after approx 3.5 years but it needs a new tube/crown as the threads have worn.

Anyway, When I bought it I understaood it had an ETA 2836-2 movement but I have just looked and it's a 2834-2 (the case has the serial P863698 and the case has lug holes).

On the movement between the 2834-2 and before the ETA trademark I can make out what looks like the letters VBY and underneath that is AO then to the right of the ETA symbol are the letters AR with what looks like the number 2169 under that?

Can anyone tell me anything about either this movement or this model of case?

I have tried to take some photo's but they all came out blurred

I've not come accross 2834-2's being fitted in Rolex reps before only 2836-2's but I'm no expert, would this be a better movement or is it just the same as a 2836-2 essentially (it looks identical)?

    Cheers

    Simon

  3. My advice would be to look at a 16600 (Sea Dweller) if you can stretch to it as these are sure to increase in value now it has been discontinued by Rolex.

I would also buy sooner rather than later if you can for the same reason.

Here is one example of a 2007 model 16600 in the UK for

  4. Hi guys,

I have been having a sort out and I came accross this old automatic swiss watch that use to belong to my Grandad.

I know nothing about it, other that what I can find out on google and that was that the swiss watch makers, Jowissa Watch Ltd was set up in 1951, I cannot find out anything about the brand Halcyon or this watch a 'Halcyon De Luxe'

Can any of you guys help with any information about the watch and the movement and do you think would it be worth anything?

    Cheers

The writing on the movement reads "ONE 1 JEWEL UNADUSTED SWISS, JOWISSA WATCH LTD" Then to the right are the initials "GN"

  5. When I bought the Daytona, I did buy it as being fitted with a gen Valjoux 7750 movement and it was suppossed to have the seconds at 6, but it came with seconds at 9 ........but I didn't risk sending it back and never opened up the back (I didn't know back then what I know now, thanks to this and others).
