  1. It cant be fixed???? I give up man. I paid more money for the gen eta movement. Just paid 65.00 to have it "fixed"....... The up hill clmb it looks awful.
  2. The ongoing Euromariner saga grows..... After getting the stem put back in the movement isnt smooth in some spots now. it seems to jerk in some spots and almost tick in others. but in some spots its silky smooth. Just think i've only had this watch a little over a week. All started with a peice of lint that was left in the watch on the face. wish i would have never had it opened to have it removed. Just lived with the lint
  3. Found a rep friendly watchmaker today. He fixed the damaged setscrew (?) and i wa son my way. Funny, before he cracke dit open he said...."you sure this isnt a genuine??"
  4. It will look like the one in this watch.. http://cgi.ebay.com/SUBMARINER-DIVERS-WATC...7QQcmdZViewItem
  5. the first guy said no way he would open it. I told him to go ahead but he still thought it was real
  6. I went out today (while working) to try and find someone who could remove some lint from the dial. (thats a whole nother story) http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=85481 Went to first place wich is a jewelry pawn shop. i walk up,owner is wearing 2 tone sub. I asked if he could remove lint. he asks to see my watch. Says "thats weird, can i remove the bracelet??" i say ok,he removes braclet has his loop out examing the watch. (dial, bracelt, engravings on case) He says man, when i saw the pearl it threw me off cause i thought it might be a replica but after looking at everything else it's a gen. I tell him i bought it used (i did from amember here) he then says previous owner must have replaced bezel. He says he cant work on it becuase its a gen. Next place i go the owner says he doesnt work on them but can send it out. asks if he can see the watch. I hand it over. same thing. BUT!!!! he offers me $3000.00 for it on the spot. He says he sells 8-10 used rolexs a week....... True storys..... i swear.
  7. I really dint know what to do. It wasnt the official AD but a ofiicial repair shop. Either way the owner was nice about the whole thing. The day started out with mr going to 3 other pawn/jewelry stores that sell used rolex's. All 3 thougt it was gen and wouldnt remove the case back to try and see about removing the lint on the dial. On antother note, thanks for all the help. I aslo posted in the rolex area and have been told there as well that i have a keyless works issue but it's not destroyed.
  8. after some searching it looks like this is common if the stem isnt replaced correctly. Got to find a watchmaker now to fix the keyless works.
  9. gotcha...... I'll TRY to find a fairly local watch repair shop tommorow. I drove to a few jewelry places to day but all had to send it out somewhere. There is supposed to be a guy that will be in tommorow at noon.
  10. Figures. as long as it can be repaired.....i've had it a freakin week. It runs right now,but if the crwon is unscrewed the stem falls out.
  11. And the watch is running....just the stem will come out if the crown is not scrwed down
  12. Took my watch (euromariner ETA ) to a kiosk in the mall to have dust removed from dial. She opend it up,pushed in detent and removed stem. Decided she couldnt reomove movement and put it back together. Well, then i cant set the time or date and when the crown was all the way screwed in it didnt work. she says she doesnt know what to do nad wasnt supposed to open rolex anyways. So i take it to a Rolex repair shop. he opens it up says he cant work on it cause it's not gen but does something to where now the stem will fall out if the crwon isnt screwed down. he says a watchsmith can fix it that is not broke. Any ideas???
