  1. Here's an update on my situation. It seems that Chinese customs have seized both the SMP Chrono and the Tag Link sent on different dates. So I contacted Joshua to see if we could resolve this, since it was in fact he who wanted me to send them back to him.

After a few mails back and forth, I am now receiving a new SMP Chrono and Link by Fedex. I will be paying for the shipping charge.

Just underlines the motto of many other people on this board: "First choose your dealer, then your watch". It would be great to even get a response from Paul if I had purchased these watches from him. Had one small problem with a bracelet a while back, but he wouldn't even reply to my mails.

Joshua has replied to every mail I have sent the last few days, and he has done this a few minutes after they have been sent.

Josh, you have a customer for life (or at least as long as I am into reps ;) )

  2. I was thinking of this one as part of a Christmas gift for my girlfriend:

    and for me:

Waiting for a couple repairs from Joshua, so going to have him ship them with these.

What do you guys think? I've had a few problems with the new 7750, but don't really hear that much about other people here with a lot of problems, and considering the amount of these watches going around, I should think I've had my share.

  3. I am down to the final question on my exams, and was hoping someone here could help me out.

    The question is as follows:

Give an account for which conditions, except for the financial, you expect a company to rely on when it comes to strategic measures by producing and marketing its own products in stead of distributing products produced by suppliers.

Guys.. I know its the weekend, but I'd really appreciate some help. I am totally stuck here.

The background for this by the way, is that this company has previously distributed products purchased from suppliers. The supplier has also been in charge of marketing.

Now, this company feels they have the know-how to start their own production of the same product, and market it them selves. And in addition to the financial aspects (which I have covered), there are other aspects which need to be clarified and emphasized when a company is to undertake investments like this.

    Regards

  4. Yes but again you're missing a key point.

I agree that brand name bags would not cost a lot more than a quality generic brand bag (they will cost more) but you are buying the brand the exact same way we do with our watches, yes even with our rep watches.

    Ken

And yet, rep watches are not priced based on the price of the gens

  5. @insane and @vmena you guy's need to understand that the bags that sash and I sell are in fact priced (in many occassions) less than 10% of original.

Take a look at sash's Chloe Paddington for instance they gen is worth over $1600

Yes you can get many generic bags or even minor branded bags for for only a couple of hundred but when you start talking about LV, Chloe, Hermes you are getting up in the thousands, what makes a leather bag worth that much..............hey what makes a Rolex worth $7,000..............brand name.

    Ken

Yes, but I don't believe that production costs for rep bags any higher than a no-name bag, and therefore the mark-up shouldn't be any different. But of course, if people are willing to over pay, which it seems they are, then I of course understand why the prices are so high.

The fact that they are priced at 10% of the gen bag is of no real value to me. I am just interested in paying what I believe the bag is worth.
