  1. Nope 2824 gy9ydagy.jpg 3035 ute8ebuh.jpg 3135uju8y8ej.jpg 1570 pyme4use.jpg Have a good look2824 and 3135 the same way except the 1570 and 3035 so a modern 3135 will turn the the same as a 2824

No, thats not what mymanmatt meant. He was referring to the how the hands advance, not the datewheel...

I think there is two distinct tells for a Rolex

    1) Most Rolex movements hands advance clockwise (i.e., you are turning the crown upwards to advance the hands) - which is what Mymanmatt meant. ETA does the opposite.

    2) Most Rolex movements, when you wind back the hands, you can also wind back the date. ETA does not do that.

  2. Thanks for kind words.

Agree the pre-ceramic versions seem nicer (though more prone to scratches on the bezel).

I don't think i'll be selling these anytime soon - spent too long chasing these two down.

I compared the genuine 2531.8000 with the old version that Paul used to offer (back in 2006) and the quality is there. They were very nice reps.

Saying that though, the current batch of POs are also very good!!

  3. No i did not cut the dial feet because the dial is made for the tudor snowflake and fits the eta movements 2824-2 and also fit the 2783 but having said that i purchased a dial that is made for eta movement and the feet are 1 minute off so i have to cut them !

haha your answer was a little confusing...you said you didn't cut the feet at the start but said you cut the feet at the end of the sentence?

Let me rephrase if my question wasn't clear, I have a 2783 movement, if I order a yuki dial, would I have to cut the feet to fit it? (accounting for stem alignment, etc)

    thanks again!

  4. This is my trusty 1680 into blue snowflake build ! my dial is a mahand from ebay and it fitted my 2783 , 2783 and 2784 the movements are identical apart from one part but i think that the 2784 is a higher beat , check out my blue snowflake build post

this shot shows the insert i heated it up on a gas stove for short time

this dulled down the shiny insert and gives a matt finish

the other photo has the old insert that was replaced

quick follow up question if you don't mind.

Did you have to cut the dial feet off the Yuki dial to fit it to the 2783? I heard the dial feet position don't line up - can you confirm?
