  1. Good thinking Shawnbeever. Tried that, same problem. Seems according to my watchsmit that the lughole spacing is not equal.
  2. Thanks all for your response. All the watches where bought from eu sellers. The point I want to make is this: i know when buying a rep you can face some problems, can also happen with a gen. To give you all an example, this the reaction I got from my dealer about the fake ETA: "Are you sure that base movement was not swiss > > There are swiss Base movements with some Asian Components installed > > Infact almost all Swiss reps now have base movement but have a couple > of asian parts also included as you ETA do not supply these movements > anymore. > > The Asian ETA is all 100% cloned, but a lot of the swiss ETA movements > are assembled with some asian parts. > > if you can send me a picture of the movement i can query it with factory. > > You must understand i do not open watches when i receive them. This > would break the pressure seal if any... and with the amount of items i > ship i cannot open every single watch. > > The only time i open a watch is if a customer asks me to take a > picture of the movement."> This afternoon i went realy nuts when my watchmaker told me that each spacing on my super sea dweller is different. Thats why the SEL's won't fit. Mind you, i'm not talking about cheap watches, 225 euro or more, is about $300 I will take my loss and buy a sec hand Planet Ocean.
  3. May god bless you! You're a kind man!
  4. I am talking about european dealers! I live in Europe.
  5. I am trough with it. In one year I bought 3 reps and spend almost +1000 euro's (1486 dollars)! I bought the watches in good trust at "trusted" dealers. First one (Ultimate DSSD, was not an ultimate, was a version 3! It's only because of this forum that I discovered it. Bracelet fell off, watch damaged etc. Second watch a "Rolex" LV (also a supreme, broke after a week. Crystal and bezel fell off after a week. A well known forum member, discovered that inside the watch was a fake ETA. Supposed to be a gen ETA. Now my so called Super sea dweller (1 month old) has got a gap, the size of a toothpick on the SEL. I went to a friendly watchsmit this afternoon and he discovered that all the lugholes have different spacing. In fact one pushpin is so completely bent to make it fit that It's only a question of time that the pushpin will brake. I am fed up with the stories about QC and service. Feels more like, take the money and run! For the money I spend on all these pieces off crap I almost could have bought me a second hand gen! I 've had it and wish you all happy holidays and thanks for the great articles. Maxfly
  6. I have a ssd,1 month old, really like the watch except for one thing. One of the sel's is not a tight fit. There is a gap of several millimeters between the bracelet and the watch. You can actually move the sel. It ruins the fun for me. I'm not looking at the watch anymore but only to the crooked sel. I think that one of the lug holes is not correct drilled. Has anybody got an idea how I can fix this?
  7. Hi, I live in the Netherlands to and bought a wm9 from PT. Give me a mail!
  8. Hi Michael, I can reconmend Tribal, he lives in Europe. He modded my SSD (bought from PT) , gen pearl and insert. Looks great now. It keeps great time btw, 1 sec a day! Search in the members list for his name and email him with your request. I don't agree with the remarks from the other guys about the SSD. I compared it with a gen SD and you have to look real close to see the difference. Appart from the Rolex experts nobody will see the difference! With an oilbad they mean preparing the bracelet for use. I use WD40 once a month.

    PT Swiss

Good prices and great service! Nice guy to do business with.
  10. My SSD from PT is coming back from Tribal next week. Tribal did the mods for me, cg's shaved and gen pearl. I will post some pictures when its back. Did you know that Tribal is living in Germany? Have you read the review in RWG where a SSD is used by pro divers? Look in the search function for it. What i like about the ssd from PT is the weight off the watch and the bracelet is topnotch! The watch feals like a sturdy tool! Best of all, mine gaines 2 seconds a day! It's running like a charm. PT is also a very nice guy to do business with. Hope this is helpfull.
  11. Go to Schaap&Citroen, they are AD for Rolex! It's near the Dam square. Have fun but beware of pick pokkers when you are drooling at the windows!
  12. I ordered a WM9 at PT, i think it's a V1. By-Tor, do you know how the cg's are on the V1?
  13. Thanks guys, i tried the scotch-brite pad and it works perfect! Special thanks to HaloArchive!
  14. I've read the excelent tutorial of Gioarmani about " How to restore & maintain a brushed/satin finish" Where can i buy such a pad in europe?
  15. I agree with you Tee-Jay. it's the only reason i can think off.
  16. Hi Nanuq, In your case I can imagine that the factory makes a mistake ( beautifull watches BTW) but with an "ordinary" Submariner or late model seadweller it should't be a problem in my opinion. That's why I don't understand the names Ultimate, supreme etc if the cg's are not even close to the gen!
  17. I was wondering why are the crown guards always wrong on reps. If they can make copies of Rolex almost to detail, why can
  18. Which rep bracelet comes close to the gen?
  19. I agree with Toadtorrent that "They feel more fluid and well finished" I am not an expert but can feel with my eyes closed the difference between a gen and a rep. Have you noticed that a gen "sounds" different? When you "rinkle" the bracelet it sounds different then a rep. I now it sounds crasy but i have a gen 16610 and a wm9 in front of me. I did a couple of blind tests with my wife and doughter and appart from weight they could hear the difference. When looking at the watch the shine of the gen is different, more bright and reflecting.
  20. Is the actual weight of a gen Rolex bracelet heavier than a rep? If a compare a gen sub with for example a wm9 you can feel the difference in weight. The weight of the watch is most of the times the give away. Is this because Rolex uses different steel i.e 904l instead of 316l?
  21. The guy i bought SSD from changed the insert on the bezel with a very bad one. You can spot from a mile that it is a fake. Since the watch came from PT and i am going to buy a v3 DSSD from him, he is willing to sell me a new one for a very good price
  22. Thanks Toadtorrent, i bought one from PT.
  23. Sorry guys. My fault! Will not happen again.
