  1. I love it! You beat me to it! I've been practicing CG mods to various cases. My plan was to turn my noob sub into a DLC'd, no CG, no cyclops Project X homage watch. The only problem I have been having is the noob bezel. Did you remove the bezel for the CG mod? If so how on earth did you do it without bending it?

Love the work! Nicely done! :thumbsupsmileyanim:

You can speak with member 'PBDAD' over on repgeek if you'd like

  2. Well for a long time now, I've been looking for a decent rep of the Project X Sub. After some though, I decided to take on the project myself and build one.

It is about 95% done. I'm thinking about maybe swapping the insert for a ceramic one, and maybe a WM9 date wheel, and maybe a full AR of the crystal.

Thanks to PBDAD for shaving my crown guards!

    - Noob case with shaved off CG's

    - Swiss ETA 2836-2

    - WM Insert and pearl

    - Rep Sub LV Dial and Hands

    - Cyclops removed from crystal

    - Datewheel Realigned

    - Bk Crown and Tube

    - Black Zulu Strap

Let me know what you all think!

  3. Yes, you'll need a 2836 replacement datewheel and an overlay to glue on it.

I probably have some old ETA datewheels laying around; a few of which have been stripped of their paint already and would be perfect for an overlay. The lack of paint allows for a better bond with whatever adhesive you choose to use, and also makes for a slight bit more clearance due to the reduced profile; you'll want as much clearance as possible between the overlay and the dial to prevent rubbing, which will cause the date to stick when rolling over.

    Thanks!

Please let me know if you have an extra old ETA wheel for a 2836, and even a rolex overlay! I would gladly send you the funds for it

  4. Unfortunately, no. The datewheels are different sizes; inner and outer diameters. the 3135 is just a larger movement than the ETA in general (12.5''' vs. 11.5''' for the ETA), hence allowing for a larger datewheel.

So then what do you reccomend I do?

The eta datewheel on my 2836 has fallen off and it seems as though a few of the teeth from the date wheel have worn out, so I need an ETA wheel and a Rolex overlay that will need to be glued on.. correct?

  5. i took it into a dealer today and asked him to look at it and he thought it was a genuine.. he said if its a fake its the best one he,s ever seen

    get in there

Wait - you went into a dealer with your Rolex replica???

    You deserve to be banned.

  6. Anyone familiar with a sub case with serial F320840?

I am trying to get a noob case from Silix but this is the only one he has available with no rehaut engraving.

Can anyone post some frontal shots or give any insight on this case?

    Thanks so much

Or if anyone has a noob case that they will part with, please PM me!
