  1. I always said I was going to buy a gen 16610. But after seeing how far replica's have come, and seeing the qaulity vs. price in replicas, I refuse to ever buy a gen SS watch again. The only gen watch I will ever buy is going to be something with a precious metal (yellow gold, rose gold, platinum etc..).

The replicas are just too damn good to spend on an SS gen

  2. One of my favorite watches, looking to soon hopefully add this to my collection..

In my opinion, the bracelet can be swapped out with a good two tone aftermarket on the bay, using the same clasp. The same goes for the crown.

One thing that really bugs me on this rep, is the god awful rehaut. I have a few gen rolexes - all with engraved rehaut, and trust me when I say this - the gmtiic's rehaut is horrible. It's painted, not engraved, and its not even symmetrical. The font is off too.

Besides the rehaut, it seems to be an outstanding rep that i'll soon add one day

  3. Reading through some of the more trust worthy and respected rep vendor sites, I find they are always touting how "accurate" their products are; "just like the original" and "most accurate out there." Some even offer special upgrades to make their watches more accurate. WHY wouldn't an application of a quality lume be something that would be a simple upgrade??? I mean, if it costs a little more money, why not pass the cost on to the buyer? If someone doesn't want people to know he/she has a rep, the lack of lume would be a dead give away. Come to think of it, maybe the gen models of the reps mentioned above didn't come with lume???????? HELP!!

You're missing the point. If the gen has lume, then the rep factories apply lume to the rep dials. If there is no lume on the gen models, then they do not apply lume.

  4. This has always plagued me. I, for the life of me, cannot install a watch back together simply because I magically get fingerprints or dust on the crystal. Many attempts with the dust blower and windex and it still gets in there! It's the most annoying thing to putting watches back together, after those tiny movement mount screws.

  5. Hey all,

I'm looking for a dealer or a member that sells the older style Datejust models, as opposed to the newer ones that were introduced in 2005. (thinner and brushed lugs as opposed to the thicker and polished lugs).

Anyone know where I can find one? Thanks -

New case (NOT the one i'm looking for)

  6. Hey Guys,

Got a couple of questions if you don't mind. I have the SSD v2, and am not sure if it's a mineral or real sapphire crystal. I put a very light hairline scratch on the crystal.

Isn't sapphire supposed to be scratch proof? Is there anyway I can get the scratch removed? Is it maybe a mineral crystal? The watch was purchased from Trusty...

    Thanks guys
