I think theres a golfsmith near lex and 53rd... And there's another golf shop on 35 between 6 and 7th. Good luck!
Thanks - I work a block away from there! I'll check it out tomorrow

Golf... finger fart there...
it is in fact the lead tape that cyborg mentions, that I suggested as an alternative to the bracelet.. it comes in strips and can be cut smaller.. should do the trick.. it's weight is substantial..
Thanks for the idea Lani - I'll let you know how it works out

Thanks guys ... I live in NYC Manhattan.. anywhere nearby I can pick some up?

Post a picture of the movement...

You could switch from a jubilee band to an oyster band w/ solid mid links.
I'm already on an oyster with solid midlinks

Thanks so much!!!!!!!

Can someone please post a tutorial on how to replace a crown? (How to remove it from the stem, and the best way to glue it to the new stem etc..)
Thanks!

Bump - still looking for a solution..
Anybody?

Order one from BK. He'll mod it with a better crown and better crystal.
The WM9 YM is the best of the best, and cannot get any better than this.

Hey Guys,
I have a few small items (a band, a winding stem, etc) that can all fit into a small envelope. I was wondering how much postage I should put on the envelope if it's going to the UK by USPS standard airmail. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks a bunch

So the truth comes out.
Threats, especially PP ones are not tolerated around here, totally unaceptable behaviour.
Information noted.
You know what? Here are the screenshots from my PM's. Can we get a mod to ban this guy? I hope NOBODY does any transaction again with him in the future, as it seems he WILL be coming back. I hope he proved his cowardice and idiocracy for everyone to know what an idiot he really is.

I have to thank SliverG for giving me a partial refund. We have met with a resolution that both of us felt reasonable.
Why did you edit your original post? You were affraid that everyone saw that you threatened to Paypal dispute me? Well he DID guys! He threatened to dispute through paypal. I have the screenshots of our PM's to prove it. Never do business with this noob again. He haggles on the price, lowballs till no extent, then complains and wastes time. I have been a trusted member over here, Repgeek and RWI and I have never ever mislead anyone and have only trouble-free transactions. You should ask ANYONE who has ever bought from me. Ask over on Repgeek too.
I dont think that SliverG finds this reasonable. Sounds like his hand was forced, I hope that was not the case. Going through PP Is a huge no no around here. PP disputes are only exceptable (maybe) after every avenue has been exhausted and even then not always.
I don't find this reasonable. I WAS forced. Threatening me with Paypal is a big no-no, but this guy seems to think he is above that. I hope everyone will reconsider their options before doing business with this guy again.

I'm VERY jealous Freddy. Congratulations on a beautiful build.

Err... Solid gold bands run about $3000 (at least)

Hi guys - the WTB section rarely gets an views. I've been looking for a while for one of these. It's not the modern datejust case with polished, thicker lugs... but rather the older version 16233 style case. I'm pretty sure it's the same case as the Exp I. I'm looking for a case-set with crystal and caseback, and yellow gold fluted bezel.
I'll take anything you have, rep or gen. PLEASE SOMEBODY PM me or email me at silverg112@gmail.com
Thanks everyone

Greeat review TeeJay - thanks for that.
Where did you buy it from? I'd like to order the same one!

Firstly, that DJ is beautiful.
Secondly, I'm happy to say that DateJusts get a good amount of attention here. Many people have neglected them due to the new larger, wall-clock-on-your-wrist-styling fad going on and I'm happy to see that people still have an interest in them. I am looking to build an '80's two-tone Datejust as well...... when I get the right parts and stuff.
Enjoy!

Does anyone know somebody who is in the US that can do the graphite treatment for me one of my daytona secs @ 6?
Please let me know!!
Thanks

Working on a franken project.....
Anyone know where I can get some dial stickers from? (to go in between the dial and movement)
Or if anyone has a couple that they can send me?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!
-
WOW is right. Where can I find one like that? I've been looking for an older solid YG datejust..
-
Can you elaborate? What exactly is the problem with the sec @ 6?
And what do you mean by "flat" - on it's caseback?
Do you know what, i just realised that keeping them in a winder is going to make them last a lot longer.
Watch flat = gravity and weight of dial etc above pushing down on extra gear wheels helping to wear them out.
Watch constantly rotating all angles = no gravitational effect pushing down constantly on the extra module gears. They are a lot freer to turn.

Haha thanks Hike. I have the black dial with stick indices, standard on the gen SS models.
BTW your avatar... wow. Those are some insane [censored]! I love the [censored] where you can see veins. I have a lady in my office whose [censored] are insane and you can see a slight vain appearing at the surface.... daaaaayyyyum
I think I have the same model as yours!
What I do with all my 7750/chrono watches is to pull the crown out all the way till it stops and then I store after use! So far, DONT JINX ME!!!!!, they're all ok! Don't run your chronos on those that have the se@6 mod! It seems to strain the movement more! Now these are just my style and observation and I am no EXPERT! But, hey, so far so good!

Hi Guys,
I know i know, not the most reliable movement. I bough it off a member and it's fine. I just have a quick question. What are early signs of a failing movement?
Does anyone else here have a secs @ 6 daytona that can confirm?
Thanks!

That dial looks terrible. You are correct to say that $100 noobmariners have 1,000x better printing than that. I've purchased over 50 reps. Some with beautiful dial printing, and some worse than yours. I would not accept that dial at all. That really looks terrible, and you're not whining. If that was an original DW, then I would be a little more inquisitive on his QC standards
add more weight?

Hey guys,
Bought the lead tape today. There were 2 variations - one was a roll of lead tape, and the other was 10 square lead pieces that I can cut up. I'll try a few tonight inside one of my reps and let you know how it comes out.
PS - do you think its better to tape to the inside of the caseback, or on the back of the rotor?
