  1. There is no need to base mindless assumptions upon my personality based on speculations. I am far from naive. I have taken reasonable steps with the company. They have offered a different remedy each time, and they have not come to fruition. I predicted that you would have preferred a crystal in your hand, rather than money, because then you do not need to go through the processes of sourcing a crystal. This is my justification for waiting and seeing if they would deliver a replacement crystal. Yes, it seems that they have been lying. Now I will do what I can to get a refund. Remember I am on your side. This company have wasted alot of my time, I have just as much motivation to resolve this situation as you do.

  2. I never said that your request to a refund was unreasonable nor did I imply such a thing. I was told the crystal was in transit to me. The company won't issue a refund if they believe that I will receive a crystal. I gave them a deadline, they haven't met the deadline. Therefore I will now demand a refund for value of the crystal. Don't make this personal Ryaku.

  3. I'll never doubt you again, b16a2!

Sometimes, you really DO have to see a watch in person. This Breitling for Bentley is gorgeous, even if it's as busy as all get out.

    Wow!

    You better believe it

Breitlings are famous for their fancy dials, allowing for the many different calculations that can be done. I sometimes think that Breitling is like Marmite..... if you ever see a Breitling in real life, you'll either be hooked on them, or disregard them in digust.

    Another favourite of mine;

  4. Yes mate i totally share it..... unfortunately b16a2 seems to have a different opinion (maybe cause crystal is mine).

Please do not make statements like this, the fact that the crystal is yours makes no difference. I too am tired of the situation as much as you. I have said to them enough times to just send it back. A replacement is on the way. Unfortunately there is little more that I can do. I have to take it on their word that they have sent a replacement and that it is a courier problem. Bearing in mind I received the first crystal back after 4 days with a very good AR coating, but just in a slightly wrong tint, I have no reason to suggest that a company with such a quick turnaround would suddenly become a rogue company.

I would like to thank you for your patience as it has been too long. I want you to know that I am on the phone to them daily chasing it up. I want to get your crystal back, or a replacement sent to you. I will not stop until I do, rest assured. I do understand your feelings though, as this has been a ridiculous time span since the crystal was returned to them.

  5. Hey, did you get AR done on your black Navi? It no, still "love it" with lack of AR? I love the black gen, but have been leaning towards white rep, but the World version. What are your thoughts based on your watch? Black safe with no AR compared to white? Or if you have gotten AR done, what did you pay? $55? or about?

    thanks

It is currently on its way back from having had an AR coating. Without the AR coating the Navitimer really suffers if you have witnessed a genuine, there are a lot of reflections, so for the extra $55 dollars (if you use k222 in EU, or $40 if you use Chieftang in USA), I would recommend having it done.

I love the Navitimer World. Slightly larger than the regular Navtimer, and has a real pilots look to it. It does also uffer from a slightly sunken datewheel, the reason for this I am not sure, I assume it is because the movement is very slightly modified to incorporate a GMT hand (this is just an educated guess)

If you go for the white dial, reflections appear to a lesser extent on the crystal than on a black dial. So if you were to buy a white dial, its not as necessary to get an AR coating applied, however, I would still have it done anyway, as it will make a difference.

  6. Congrats on your first replica, and your photo's are very good. Have a read through some of the guides available and you'll be shooting pics at a level worthy of some of our greatest photographers here!

Sometimes my chrono is slightly off on one of my watches. I let the stopwatch function run for a couple of mins, then stop it, and restart it, and it falls back into place perfectly. I always do this with the knowledge in the back of my mind it could all go wrong, I dont put too much faith in my 7750's haha. If you can live with it, I would personally leave it there.

  7. K2222 is in Poland.

Btw, genuine AR is harder than saphire. If you manage to scratch it, the crystal will most likely be scratched, too.

But you could be lucky with rep AR.

Anyway, K2222 can polish out scratches, too... He did it on one of my crystals I sent him ;)

Just a quick note; AR isn't harder than sapphire, even on Breitlings. This is an unfortunate reason that many watch owners who have double AR coatings, such as Breits and Omega PO's sometimes have to poilsh the outer layer off of the crystal due to small scratches being evident in it. Whilst proper AR is very durable, and must go through a scratch test to reach a required standard, it is softer than sapphire. It is however more durable than mineral glass.

  8. The trip compax is a beautiful looking Navitimer, but you will have to bear in mind it has the datewheel a few mm below the date window due to the extra gears in the movement to move the seconds to the 9 subdial.

With the 12,9,6 dial Navitimer, the datewheel sits nice and flush with the date window. You also get a datewheel from Lello to make the font more accurate to the genuine.

I have a two tone black dial with Leather strap and I love it. Search in the Breitling section for posts by Andreww, as he has posted a few pictures of his tri-compax Navitimer. Although this is the older version, they are largely the same as the current navitimer, only small differences, so it will give you a good idea of this version.

  9. I fear I may be starting to do what I said I wished not to do :) As with anything there is always another point that can be put across, and again Teejay, it is a very reasonable point to put across.

I won't contribute anymore to this topic, I feel I have said enough, and would just like to refer to a quote that I feel is key when reading my account (again not aimed at you TJ, just a general reference, but it seems my reply has again followed your post)

It is merely a post that is for you all, and is meant to be used as a piece to put in the jigsaw. For some it will mean nothing at all, you have views set in stone. For others who didn't deal with Mark, and who are forming judgements based on the 'bad press', here is something for you to consider. It is my account of my dealings with Mark, and my account of how I value him as a friend.

QUOTE EDITED FOR TYPO's - seems to be a common occurence for me at the moment!
