If that's a gen than i could use the case of a tudor no date submariner... i think i can get hold of one from MBW. And i still have a gen 5513 glossy dial... Hmmmmm... sounds interesting
By the way Drik... awesome work!! That dial is so incredibly cool

It looks like the inspiration has dried up

Fact of the matter is that there was always something that irked me with each of the reps. Something in the back of my head.
Hahahaha... i know what you're talking about too well... Congrats with your new PO and i fully agree with you. Even a highly modded rep, even with gen parts, is just no real gen... there will always be somehting that need improvement. The flaws on the UPO kept me from buying that rep and i've considered buying the gen 42mm version. No funds unfortunately... so who knows
Excellent choice

Excellent pictures my friend

excellent review again, my friend
You really take reviews to a new and much higher level. It's a great read... and very informative! Thanx so much for doing this and taking the time to share it with us
PS. i love your sense of humor in details

Thanx T... really appreciated

that's a nice one

Since a few days i can't edit my posts anymore... anyone else have this problem? Or is this a new feature

It seems that those day's are a thing of the past.. and may very well be refferred to as "back in the day" when talking about a ride around the island...
No worries about this... in a few years we will have very environment-friendly cars for a ride around the island... only that roaring sound will be different with an enige like a lawnmower

You're right Kruzer
I'm still waiting for the timeslot where we can use the appartement of a friend's cousin.... since hotels are insanely pricy this would save us quite some $$$. So it's depending on when we may use the appartement... hope to know it soon as i also wanna book a ticket!

@Stephane... that would be awesome, a NYC GTG... let's see if them local homies organise something when we pay them a visit
-
PM me with the exact dates.
no dates yet, but when i have them you'll receive a PM
I guess my main interest is something in the line of a GP Richeville chrono, GP vintage 1960 chrono or maybe another GP. Or maybe one of the newer in house caliber driven Daniel JeanRichard (caliber JR 1000).
Another great option is a eighties or nineties Submariner or Sea-Dweller.
I have enough ideas... just not enough mulah

Hi guys,
I'm planning a trip to NYC and i'd love to visit some pawnshops or used watches dealers, to maybe find a nice gen watch. I have no specific watch that i'm looking for but i'd love to look around and when the price/model appeals to me i know it's too late to hide my credit card
While searching via google i couldn't find any website with good information nor a website of a used watches dealer. I already emailed one guy (the watch collector NY) but his reply was not nice so he won't get my business.
Do you guys have tips, names, websites for me?
Thanx in advance

F A N T A S T I C Stephane !!
What a great project again and with that gen dial and pearl it really looks awesome
-
It's a lovely watch, Peto. Can you tell me what's "franken" about it?
-
Make it less Graham Chronofighter and more Mark XVI...
Bump.
That's a good idea mate! Why so many ugly watches with complicated pushers, difficult to copy cases, strange dials and unreliable movements... when they can EASILY copy a simple Mark XVI.

No, the 'real' Autavias I meant I'd love to see are those like this...
Here you go, Docblackrock... my two beauties
both are gen... the Monaco is a normal reissue with TAG on the dial. The Autavia is a very rare one with decompression bezel.

My old 600T Sharkhunter... traded it for a 750T, which was a dumb decission, so i sold that one again. Now i hope to buy a 600T or 1000T again. Magnificent watches!!

Congrats TJ !! ...and choose whatever watch you're comfortable with
PS. but the tourby in gold that Homer posted (Cronsell on his wedding) is mighty fine for such an occasion as well

TRC will always be a great memory! it was, like more members already said, the first really big forum that prevented so many of us of spening way too much of garbage or scamdeals. The last few years it was a calm oasis and it was always good to check it out, but i think this move was inevetable. RWG is more alive and kicking... but never forget the huge knowledgebase called TRC
Thanx to T for starting that place and offering us all such an incredible place to share knowlege, experience and joy together
... Would it be possible to make a quiet corner here for the older members from there (the die hards who stayed for so long) to enjoy the passing of time?...Andy... you old fart... but honetsly... i would love to hang out with you in an oldtimers corner

... this will be my last post....
That sounds more than excellent!

I just hate low end replicas, because their so numerous it "devalues" the rolex name and prestige associated with it. There really should be regulations on the fakes.
You are [censored]ing hilarious! Now stop posting [censored] like this and start taking your pills again, because to me it seems like you are kind of sick in your head.

Crownguards are terrible! Sorry, but that would bug me all the time... no clue how the rest of the watch is as i only see those darn CG's...
