The crown does stick out a bit. I noticed that just after taking those pictures. it doesn't really bother me that much. Im not gonna try to fix it cause ill just end up breaking it. I may think about aging it a little. I just got it i dont wanna break it. I may order the white dial version just for the hell of it, and its only $98. I like it alot, i need to find more vintage stuff. I think i may get a vintage GMT next. Do any of the dealers have one for less than $200?

My vintage daytona is in pieces. Otherwise no, the daytona would be my favorite. I really need to get a new one.

I just got my 1665 Sea-Dweller from josh today. Its the $98 28800 beat asian version. Its a hell of a deal for $100. I might just get another. The movement is very nice, i compared it to my dads swiss sub that we also got from josh and it ticks at the same speed. Its much smoother than any plain asian 2813. Its my current favorite, but i hope i can find another vintage to order soon that will top it. So suggestions would be appreciated, but vintage only, im sick of new stuff. Enjoy the pics.

Im trying to figure out if its worth it to buy supposed swiss movements rather than regular asian movements. The main factor im looking for is what wont break if i drop the watch on its face real bad. I know about the beat stuff, i guess. My reason for wondering this is i was planning on buying that Sea-Dweller for $198 that josh has then i look today and hes got one for $98. I really dont wanna spend $200 on reps anymore. But if they are going to last longer i guess i would spend the other 150 to get the "swiss" movement. Thanks

Ya it defiantly is stuck. I tried to fix it today but im not sure what happened. As soon as i got the dial off the date wheel just fell out. I didn't do a very good glue job i guess. So i reglued it and in the process did the aging. but i think the date wheel has an internal problem now cause the stem got stuck in the date position. Oh well might be getting near retirement. I have lost one watch 2 weeks ago and saw this one comming. Soon I will probably have a completely different collection. These reps really don't last long at all. I think i might build a gen. Gather gen parts as i get money, assemble it. Then i wont need to keep replacing the damn asian movement ever few months cause it broke.

I gatta get the official opinion from you guys. I aged the dial and hands on one of my subs cause i had to take it apart anyways. I cant tell if I ruined it or not. Might have went a little much. Let me know what you guys think.
-
Never mind. I think theyjust took it off ebay.
-
Ya its just a crappy 2813. i want to try to age the dial anyways so looks like i might buy that. Even if it doesnt work i think ill find some tudor parts that it will work with and have that for a while.
-
I dont think the problem has to do with the date wheel overlay, i think its an internal problem. It takes about 8 or so turns of the stem to change the datewheel just once. I dropped it pretty bad and even when i first changed the movment the first time to this one there was a problem with the date wheel. It wouldent change the date all the way. It would go inbeteen 2 numbers. So anyway, i dont care if it makes no sense i just wanna know will it fit?
-
I would just take the movement in if i were to take it. and it would probably be to my cousins shop.
-
Movement Would that Tudor Movement fit in a noobmariner from josh? I dropped it really bad the other day on concrete and now the date wheel gets hung up, so im thinking of replacing. This will be the 2nd time ive replaced this one. But at least with this i could take it to get repaired.

Not sure if im willing to spend $600 on a rep.

I had a white 6263 from josh that recently broke(some of you may already know). But what i need to know is do any of the trusted dealers sell a better 6263 than josh? That was my favorite watch and now im down to 4 subs, all that i like but i want a little vintage daytona in the mix. Thanks

I ripped the dial off thinking it was glued on. I didn't see any screws on the sides. So i stuck a screw driver underneath and pried it off and now the mounting things are broken off and still in the movement. As for the movement, there is a gear that fell out and is in the way of the stem now.
-
It needs: 1 Movement 1 Crown Tube 1 Dial 1 Crown stem Its a rep so after this many problems now i dont see any point in fixing it. So ill just get a new one sooner or later.
-
yup games defiantly over. just got the face off and in the opening near the hole where the crown goes i could see a small gear that was completely loose. I still see no way to get the face off but mine is off and not going back on. so now for parts i need 1 crown tube 1 stem 1 movement with a face. Im just ganna get a new one sometime.
-
There are not any screws along the outside of the movement like a regular sub movt. Could they be on the bottom side where the weight is?
-
ran into a small snag. i have the movement out and all the hand off but how do i get the dial off?
-
ya i defiantly took the stem out when it was in the setting position. But im not sure if i want to take it apart all over again just to find that its broken anyways. Because when i broke the stem i was pushing has hard as i could. so i wouldn't be surprised if i really damaged something inside. I think if i dident damage the insides the stem may still work. If i can get that to work we are back to only one problem. So ill look at it again and see what i can do and if i feel like taking the dial and hand off.
-
Well its game over unfortunately. Trying to get the stem back in i snapped part of it off, the very tip. the square part is still there. Correct me of im wrong but i believe that little piece does not come with new crowns? I have no idea why it wouldent go back in. Is it because when i pushed the release button it was in the second position? I took the stem out twice today and the first time the stem was just unscrewed not pulled out at all. then it went back in fine. But time to get a new vintage daytona when i get some more funds.
-
Its josh's automatic one just like the one in my sig pic.
-
ok so i took the movement out and i drilled the hole into what was left of the crown tube and the size of the bit was just under the size of the case hole. So i managed to get the broken part out without damaging the threading i think. So now im putting the movement back in but i still cant get the stem back in. Why would this be?
-
Well in the process of trying to get the tube out, it snapped and half of it is still screwed in. Either this has just become a parts watch or im going to have to take the movement out and drill that out and retap it. And i cant get the crown back in for some reason. Favorite watch.......down the toilet.

Any idea what size the crown tube is? This site has tubes but im not sure what part to measure.
