  1. I got this watch from a fellow member. The second hand jumps (worse than a quartz movement). Sometimes in 1 second increment and other times in 2 second increment. Can anybody tell me what's wrong with it? What movement does it have? The watch appears to be a 47mm watch and I'm also wondering if I can find a sapphire crystal for it. Will an A7750 movement fit into this watch? Other than the jumping second hand, the watch keeps decent time and I do like the design of it. The movement is bit loose, so when I pull the crown out, it looks like the dial moves a bit.

    Thank you for your help!

  2. hi guys,

Has anybody done comparisons between the Breitling datewheel font and Swiss ETA 7750 font? I am really having hard time finding a datewheel with correct Breitling font for my two tone BCE. I've checked with couple of dealers already, none of them can source one for me, so I figure if they are similar, I will just go order one to replace my A7750 native datewheel. The A7750 movement takes Swiss 7750 datewheel right?

    Thanks!

  3. I actually care less about the AR, but I wonder removal of the outer AR would help anything. Both of my v2 BCEs don't have very strong tint on the crystal. As for my modding project goes, I will also be installing a gen bezel, tabs and maybe crown if it fits. The hands on my will be relumed to match the gen dial. I'm even thinking about swap out the Asian 7750 movement for a Swiss one, but maybe that's something I will have to do later because the A7750 movement just got serviced.

Please keep us updated on how yours is going! :)

  4. This is a closeup shot of my BCE. I assume you are trying fit the dental floss into the groove where the bezel spring sits. Well... good luck hitting the groove!

This is what's beneath the bezel. Watch in the picture is a v2 BCE, but I believe the designs on other Breitling are same or similar.

This is the bezel ratchet, which enables the click and also pushes bezel up. In the picture, the ratchet is upside down from what it is normally sitting on the watch with crystal side up. My logic tells me that if you can somehow bent the little tabs (enables the clicking) up a little bit, the bezel would be less loose. If the screws around the bezel pushing the bezel spring wire toward the groove can push a little bit further, the bezel can be tighter.

  5. Yes I did, but I currently have several project open, so I'm not sure when I'm going to mount them (I want everything go perfect first). I still need a gen dial (white), stainless steel crown, pushers and hands. I contacted Tony at Asian7750.com, but haven't heard anything from him yet.

For some people's BCE's bezel can't be removed, by changing the tabs can still make a very big difference. However, these tabs are not easy to find. If you do find them, they are normally not cheap :( Before ordering, make sure all the screw holes on your bezel is centered, so you can mount the gen tabs.

  6. Thanks BT! I was going to post that, but you beat me to it! If you see the word "AUTOMATIC" on SOSF dial is in white, I believe it's for 42mm SOSF.

Back to the original post. Over the years, I got some crazy deals for ebay! Some of them are just insane... BT knows... :) I really don't know how to put a word on it, but I've also spent a ton over there.

Any how, I currently use http://www.powersnipe.com/

It works great! With it, I can do other things while powersnipe bid for me right before the auction is over... works perfectly!

  7. My understanding is that the loose bezel can be caused by three things:

    1. Case. The groove where the bezel spring sits is too far from the ratchet. This may be an unlikely cause because all the cases are machine made, but possible.

    2. Bezel. The make of the bezel allows it not perfectly keeping the right distance between the bezel's "click teeth" to the ratchet. This can be fixed by getting another rep bezel. I fixed one of my Breitling by doing this.

    3. Ratchet. The Ratchet which makes the bezel clicks and unidirectional may need to be adjusted (need to be raised up a little bit).

Does the bezel click at all? If it does, you may be able to improve the clicking by adjusting the ratchet ring. The hardest part is getting the bezel off the case to access this ring. In some watches, it's impossible to do. Basically, once you get the bezel off, you will know what to do. Breitling bezel mechanism is quite simple.

  8. Hi there,

I have to BCE here with A7750 movement. Both BCE are v2. The movements are serviced by different watchmakers. I've noticed that if I start the chronograph, on both watch, the large second hand will have a short momentary pause as the minute register advance. Is it normal? I don't believe I'm seeing this on my Skyland.

    Any thoughts on this? Thanks!
