  1. Not if they lead to a product that is acceptable. Half-full vs half-empty. Given Chris's response this could gain traction.
  2. Thanks for posting. I think the fear of duplicate posting is overrated. As new people join, they don't necessarily go back and read forward. So fire away. Also, I do not believe this was dupe.
  3. They have been having internet problems. You may want to call if it goes too long.
  4. Quick question. From what country will the watch be shipped from? (Just thinking about customs if need be)
  5. You sir, are a Genius. The piano wire takes the cake!
  6. @jfreeman420 Different strokes for different folks. The appeal of the 14060 is its simplicity. Thus, my plea for a NON-COSC version. In theory this should be way easier to replicate than the 16610. Even if the rep comes in @ $300ish, that is still a far cry from $3000. IMHO - Reps like the Explorer I, 14060, AirKing's, etc. Should be perfected by now. They are so simple to begin with.
  7. How long to stare depends. Learn the common tells. Here is my method. Quick Glance #1: Identify watch. Note: (Is it a common uncomplicated model or complicated chrono) IF Common Model like a Rolex Sub Quick Glance #2: Date Mag / Crystal Rise & Rehaut depth. Note: (This will easily eliminate the low end and Canal Street stuff) Quick Glance #3: If still unsure, note Sweep, Crown, Crown Guards, Pearl. Note: (Still can't tell, I assume Gen, and note the persons cloths, shoes, etc) IF Complicated Model like a 7750 Quick Glance #2a: Eliminate the low-end. Is the Chrono Sweep seconds hand moving? Is the correct Seconds @ 6 or 9 sweeping like it should? (Most of the time: Chronos are OFF, so an always running chrono to me is suspect) Quick Glance #2b: If it is a 9-6-3 subdial w/date. Does it have a sunken datewheel? from here you really need to know your models, as there is not enough time to keep staring. NEVER Call a person out. It would be hypocritical. The fact a person has a Canal Street version on just means he/she hasn't found us yet.
  8. As far as PP fee's, maybe, do what they started doing on the Geek. Use "Gift" when sending in the payment. No fees.
  9. The rules must have slackened even more. Fuck is no longer appearing as <Censored>.
  10. That chart about sums it up. The 14060 is off a mm or so just about everywhere. However, even as Chris suggested, using current offerings could get us 98% there.
  11. I wonder if it would make sense to have someone here "front-end" a group buy. It might light a fire. Or, if as individuals we all buy 2 or 3 each and pepper them back to the community via FS: threads. With good numbers, and a good representative we could also force the issue of springbar size etc. Just a thought. (Same thing with the 585 endlink possibility from ETZ)
  12. A few key points. Forum members chime in: I think most would prefer the simpler NON-COSC dial. (i.e. minus the Superlative Chrono Officially Certified text). The extra text IMHO takes away from a sleek, simple time piece. So-- 1.) Lug holes a must! (preferably correct size for 2mm springbars) 2.) Non-COSC Dial (or BOTH as an option) 3.) Obviously a non-Cyclops crystal. Pics of NON-COSC: Pics of COSC:
  13. I would take 3 sets or MORE if need be to get the ball rolling on this! Given the 13 votes, and both myself and Torresp, and probably Freddy333 taking more then one set, I think we are at 20 easily.
