  1. Good points on the Dive/Quality/WR side above. Ask yourself the following questions: 1.) Do you work in the traditional business world where reputations matter? (Sales, Lawyer, Professional, Sr. Mgmt, etc)? 2.) IF you are ever called out, will it reflect negatively on you in above roles? If your answers are NO/NO or YES/NO, go rep. If your answers are YES/YES, own at least one respectable, affordable gen, and reps for fun, or "off / non-important" days. In my daily life, I have certain business affairs, that getting called out could in fact be a bad thing -or- there are times I do not want to appear "better off" than some co-workers, peers, clients. (I am probably paranoid, but some of it is out of respect) In these economic times, the guy who can afford the Rolex (real or believable rep) may not fair as well as the guy with 2 kids and a 3rd on the way. It is discrimination, but believe me-- these discussions happen behind closed doors. Sometimes you need to fly under the radar. Own both...
  2. Excellent. I have both RAF's and NATOs in route as well in various sizes.
  3. Depends. The R-n-R and WL have a cleaning agent built in. Cleans, waxes, lubes. If it is good enough to clean and lube a bike chain, I think you are fine. I did mine on a brand new WM9 bracelet. If you have been wearing yours for some time, I suppose a pre-clean couldn't hurt. Personally, I hate mixing chemicals.
  4. Also in agreement. Some of Rolex's best designs. Simple, elegant, functional... Nice collection.
  5. Excellent! I would love to know the specs/mods, etc on this beauty/franken.
  6. Personally, I would change the crystal to one without AR or a Chief AR version. (I have 2 DSN PAMs that the AR is bugging me a little bit) Does anyone know a source a for PAM crystals that fit reps? Since DSN is pretty popular, anything for those? TIA
  7. Great Watches and Pics above starting off the week. Wow. Going with the SOH:
  8. @Harley357 Beautiful Railmaster! Sticking with the 177ti. Pictures make the dial look to 'blue' Grrrr!
  9. DIY is the best route, and a pin tool, or even a mini tool-kit off the Bay will set you back less, or the same, as going to someone. However, way back in the day before I had tools, I had good luck with "Department Store" (that does not carry the same brand) watch repair sections. For example, to this day there is a "Sears" with an on site watch repair guy. All he does all day is change batteries in Quartz watches. These guys see reps all the time and can care less. Should you be called out by a Kiosk or the Sears WIS, just be agreeable: "I thought so, my brother-in-law gave it to me and said he got a "good deal", now I know why".
  10. Four: SOH SOSF BlackSteel Skyland Fantasy Navi-Date
  11. Freddy333's post above leads to my view on the subject. If the shoes, cloths, other accessories like pens and sunglasses match, it is hard to spot a "quality" rep. Funny thing is, if I see a PAM on a non-OE PAM strap, I tend to think the person is "one of us". There are days I wish we had a secret handshake or something. I don't mind deceiving the masses, but would welcome an honest discussion with others like us.
  12. New Toy 177ti just arrived:
  13. Inspired by Kelsters FS thread...
  14. China will copy anything. The replica Rolls Royce is branded "Riich" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/pictur...-Auto-2009.html
  15. Start with Silix to find out what he specified on the shipping label, and if it is possibly disguised as something other than watches. It would raise suspicion if you said watch parts and the package said something else.
  16. SOSF from a rep perspective. The larger lume markers are harder to screw up than the small dots.
  17. That is a work of art!!! Wear it well.
  18. I like them ALL. I have another use for #3. Can you share your source? Thanks!
  19. I have purchased from these guys before. http://www.jomashop.com/ HTH
