@Sixx WoW... @dluddy, Keith Moon was Neil's biggest influence back in the day. He has said as much in past interviews. I think it was Moon's influence that lead to Neil drumming with the opposite end of the drum sticks. He did this up until the Test For Echo record, when he went "back to school" with Freddie Gruber. Also, make sure to check out his Buddy Rich tribute stuff. This is actually my favorite solo of his, and it is not with Rush. I think I like it for the smaller/simplified drum kit he uses. Also, you can see him "flip" to using the back side of the stick shortly in to his Rush-esq solo portion.

Sounds like you have an Ace Timer "fuzzy logic" that when set @ 1000 TPD will give you 500 CCW and 500 CW. Not enough. IIRC you will need 650+ CW turns to keep A7750 or one-way winding rotors happy. I have an Ace, I love it, but-- I will be hacking its circuit board. It only keeps the ETA's, Miyota's, and "Russians" happy. On a similar note, I have a PAM rep with accurate & functioning power reserve meter. On the winder, it simply extended the 40hr power reserve to about 1 week. I watched daily as the power reserve slowly crept to zero. At least that has been my experience. YMMV. -Ronin

As far as 14060 reps go, I emailed most of the Collectors/Dealers here back around January. Andrew had an even better "photo spread" of a 14060 rep on his site (lug holes in the pics). Upon emailing, all, being very honest and forthright, stated the pics on their site were old, and the 14060's currently available are all missing lug holes, amongst other things. Fact. 14060 should be one of the easiest to replicate. No Cyclops, No Date Wheel+font issues, a non COSC model has less dial writing. Reality, factories are using no lug hole cases, technically the dial on a 14060 is a different size then the 16610, so again case issues. Also, IIRC there are slight differences in the bezel. Any rep 14060 is basically an inaccurate rep based on the modern 16610's. One of my fav's, this is on my Gen list. -Ronin

Just want to emphasize trying to stay within the community, exhaust all possibilities before flaunting it to a watch repair person outside the community. Opening it once, and properly closing, and tightening it should not compromise what ever waterproofing the rep came with. You can also pick up a Rolex case back tool off eBay for cheap. -Ronin

Hmmm. First of all local mall? I don't know of many real watchsmiths that could afford the rent at "the mall". Was this the generic Fossil kiosk or something? Second, searching around this forum or even google for noisy rotors / rep watch movements / water proofing will generate a ton of results. IIRC, you posted your rep at the gen Rolex forum a couple of days ago. You seem to have a strong desire to get your watch in front of as many non-rep friendly people as possible. Please do not mis-understand me, I mean no harm, but you seem to be pushing your watch into the limelight pretty hard. Try to stay within the community, DIY, and then as a last resort investigate public watchsmiths. -Ronin

I actually followed the Guru1's lead above, except my Duct Tape Sticky Ball did the trick. I am on the fence when it comes to Rubber Cement -vs- a 2 Part Epoxy like a JB Weld. (In hind site, I have to say for a $400+ rep, the factory needs to do a better job here, these "plugs" are just waiting to pop. At least a real screw could easily be loctited) -Ronin

Some of mine have some "sticktion", if that is a word, others just freewheel and I can use a finger nail to move them. I have boxed mine until I have time to "cement" the faux screws.

As usual, YMMV. And as a Seiko owner as well, I would in fact take the Seiko over it. My Seiko Automatic survived 3000 miles on a motorcycle and a week at Burning Man, and 6-8ft waves while surfing with it.

I have had good luck with some of Vostok's automatic movements. In fact, they have a pretty good anti-shock system. I once rode 4 hours off-road dirt bikes wearing a Vostok Amphibian. It is also my skiing/snowboarding watch. Thing is still running in the winder perfectly after 3 years. Movements are solid, but some of the case/crown external components could be improved. The 2 Vostoks I have had have both had wobbly crowns, loose bezels, etc.

If you blink you will miss it. He does not miss a beat.

I wonder if the sunken date window could be corrected with something like a Lemania Manual wind movement instead of the A7750. IIRC some Daytona reps feature these. Heck, I would actually go for a NO-DATE like the old 806 or 81600. We really haven't seen any good vintage reps of Breitling either.
