  1. Once you start playing with the 1575 movement, it is very hard to go back.
  2. Seller has ZERO feedback. Looks like a hodge podge of accessories. Pac-Man called, he wants his Wok-a-Wok-a-Wok-a back. I suspect someone is going to be out $4k.
  3. Sticking with Fall Colors, ORANGE today:
  4. Bummer, and PP sucks sometimes in this area... but-- The goods and services exchanged here are not exactly the same as buying on Amazon or eBay. I have always felt the Seller has to be 'comfortable' in their decision/picking the buyer. In a "normal" transaction I really believe the Seller has the most to loose. (PP Disputes, Lost in the mail, getting shopped by a brand/LEO, noob with unrealistic expectations). Buyers should do their research on the seller, and choose accordingly. Sellers should make their Terms and Conditions clear, pick the Buyer accordingly. Personally, I normally honor FIFO (First In, First Out), BUT define my terms to where I am willing to ship, how many posts the buyer must have -or- "I will not sell to 0 post, buyers". Good news is, sounds like everyone is safe, but I agree it can be disappointing.

Nearly every "modern" day pilot I know wears some version of the Citizen Skyhawk. I personally know 5 pilots that wear the Citizen JR-3000-51f. @Rolexaddict, while there is no denying not needing one in the cockpit these days, I would think a dual-time zone, multi-function watch could come in handy on layovers and overseas travel.

I too have been watching the show. It is painful at times to watch-- I have 3 family members that are pilots, and have a chatted with them about everything the show gets wrong, but I digress. I continue to watch it as one of those brain candy shows. I am surprised no one has mentioned the fact they are wearing modern 16710 SEL GMT Masters. It was very clear in the pilot episode, there was a great side shot of the case. (No lug holes, sapphire crystal). Honestly, I can not shame them for it. They obviously did enough research to know they should be wearing GMT Master / Pepsi's, and bought what was readily available. The biggest complaint on the nets, and that I also have is the "Captain". Way too young to be a captain. They have attempted to address it as a "who you know" jump the line thing. I was hoping the last episode actually got him fired. Personally, I think the cockpit crew should have been cast a little bit more "Mad Men" style. Imagine a "Roger" as Captain, "Don" as FO, and "Pete" as Engineer. A WWII era captain, and Korean War FO. Much more accurate.
  7. I have one of these movements on the back back burner on my bench. I think the problem is in dealing with the 4th wheel that drives the center seconds and 6:00 subdial. You cant freeze the 4th wheel so it would take some real creativity I think. Also, these movements are not like an ETA and are not as friendly to disassemble to get to it.
  8. Here was my / same dial from Ingod dropped into a MBW 1st Gen 1665 Case. Leave it alone...
  9. That looks great, and I have to say I love it on the Jubilee Bracelet. That Bracelet really balances out the very toolish appearance of the 1655.
  10. Big media hijacked the Youtube version... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-6LR01ZeDU Here is the original on Vimeo:
  11. The places where I have seen HBB are: Las Vegas, South of France, and the Middle East, and Sports Stars. Out of the handful I saw, I would venture a guess that the ones worn by Caucasian 20 to 30 something males are the REPS. Really? I guess this all depends on where you live, occupation, and social surroundings. I think "Its a Rolex and therefore must be fake" line of thinking is out of date, or localized to certain sociology-economic groups, and REP enthusiasts suffering from our own version of Medical Student Syndrome. I travel a lot for work, spend time in board rooms, Sushi Bars, and live in a major metropolitan area-- The majority of watches I see are GEN's. I would go as far to say, in my neck of the woods, 2/3 to 3/4 of the Rolex and other luxury brands I see are GEN. As for a nice vintage, why is there this other misconception that they must all be beat to $hit? I have had watches handed down to me by my Grandfather and Father dating back to 1918! For the most part they all look practically NEW, because they have been "properly cared for". A casually worn dress watch (weddings, funerals, formal functions) from the 1960's, could/should look fantastic. Finally, if you sent in a 1675/1680/5513 from the 60's/70's to a Rolex Service Center, it should come back looking like a new watch. Lets do some casual math/statistics. For the sake of argument-- between the rep forums there are about 30,000 "of us" out there, and lets say another 30,000 tourists to Rep hot spots around the world. Lets say right now based on that there are 60,000 REPs on peoples wrists right now. JUST looking at eBay, there are approximately 25,000 "complete/gen watches" between Rolex, Breitling, Tag, Panerai, and Omega. The microcosm that is eBay has roughly half of our 60K For Sale, which means at one time were on peoples wrists. Now factor all the GEN watches that out there and not for sale on eBay. Factor in Rolex produced 2000 watches per day in 2003. That is 730,000 GEN Rolex's produced in a single year! Based on that, I really do believe the majority of Rolex's on peoples wrists are in fact the Genuine item. Final thought, these days people drop $500 on iPads, iPhones, and a fully loaded Mac Book Pro can easily set you back close to $3000. Is it really that unbelievable that there are people running around with $5000 watches strapped on their wrists? Just playing Devils advocate here guys. 12. Honestly, I am not sure his English language skills are up to par to tell the difference between a complaint and compliment. At least in my dealings with him. It is now safe to say I am out $268 from a botched transaction a year ago.
  13. Wow, nice collection. Glad to see someone else with an addiction. To the next 5/10000
  14. Speaking of Sherlock. Not sure everyone is aware, but HOUSE is modeled around the actual Sherlock Holmes character, but in a medical setting. "Wilson" is "Watson", "Vicodin" his "Opium", "Guitar/Piano" his "Violin"...AND, the actual address of House's House is 221B as seen in earlier episodes. Pretty cool....
  15. Yup, 17J is the norm (hack or non-hack OK), but the ones PT was getting in the 1665 Rep's were 21J Hacking versions.
  16. The above pic is normal for a 9315 93150. I am guessing you are referring to this style found on a MBW REP Bracelet:
  17. F, come out to CO and practice on a 14'er with me. (Although I must admit, I am a fair weather hiker when it comes to doing a 14'er). Also, if you want a Find Me Spot satellite tracker to let your friends, family, and forum know your whereabouts when out of cell phone range, or to dispatch a helicopter if you get into $%^, ping me. I have one collecting dust.
  18. Didn't your 3804 contain this DW? I just went with it, since it looks VERY close to a RSC Service Replacement DW...
