  1. I know what you are talking about. Two ideas are: 1.) Applying heat to the 'case' while being careful to not transfer heat to the movement/dial. A soldering iron heating strategic points can make the case 'expand' just enough to release. 2.) Working 'in the air' upside down. Risky, and not very watchsmith like, but sometimes desperate measures... (This I have done).
  2. They show up from time to time on eBay... ..corected 150x Date (Thanks Alligoat) @Ubi, what is your movement pictured out of?
  3. All, I was just PM'ing a member giving them a helping hand, and thought I would share this tidbit of knowledge in public as well. This has been discussed before, but I figure the pictures will help. The discussion is about What 1575 Rolex movement to transplant into a Yuki, Phong, even MBW with the LEAST amount of issues. The short answer is you want a donor movement from a 150x Date or 1680, 1665, 551x to make life 'easiest'. (Beware eBay auctions with 1575 movements advertized as 1680/1675/551x as some are actually pulled from 160x DateJust's. Use the photos below for confirmation). You CAN use 1575 out of a 160x Pie-Pan dialed DateJust, but you will want to swap the calendar retaining ring or GRIND it down. Allow the pictures to explain. Upper Left Rolex Package IS THE correct part. PN: 7956 This is the 1601 DateJust setup. Note the sloped shoulders. Part 7956 Left is from 1601 Pie-Pan type dial, right is right! See the Pie-Pan retaining ring is a larger diameter. You can grind it down 1mm as needed. This is ready to slide flawlessly into my old Yuki. To recap, there are 3 different Calendar retaining outer rings. 1.) For Pie-Pan dials found in 160x series Date Just (these have the sloping outside) (you don't want this, unless you do what I did. I swapped the part, or you can GRIND down outside shoulder.) 2.) 1675 GMT's had a flat version as well, but slightly different diameter. Ignore this since you probably won't find one of these. 3.) The one you want is the same across 150x, 1680, 1665, 551x. So a 1501 Date is the same as a 1680 if you are going for 1:1. Hope this helps.
  4. OMG! Look at that thing! Bravo! Dibs! Say, my 9315 (in 95% shape) would look perfect on that. We should swap bracelets. AWESOME as always!
  5. A 24 hour hand generally tracks 1/2 as fast as the regular hour hand.
  6. That was great! Thanks for sharing...
  7. There are some that are locked down to the home country of the card issuer. 'Vanilla' Gift Visa comes to mind and does NOT work.
  8. Pics of the watch in question? (too lazy to Google from the tablet)
  9. Looks like this may be a duplicate post.
  10. Not to bad. I wonder if that is a 5.3 or 6.0 crown. Would also love to know dial dimension.

    NO!

This is a real easy fix, but as mentioned shipping it around with that loose could lead to more problems. Use this a opportunity to learn / DIY. All you need to fix this is: Ball of Duct tape to remove case back (should do it) Small jewelers screwdriver (remove two screws holding it in case) Small screwdriver or thumb tack (remove stem) < most dangerous part, keyless works beware > Super Glue
  12. Still has the original battery. Only good for about 2 hours these days... (This version "Requires" Firewire or the wall-wart to recharge) Still, these 15g/3rd Generations and the original Gum Pack Shuffles have the best iPod DAC's.
  13. Nice. • How do you tell if the stage is level? The drummer is drooling from both sides of his mouth. • What do you call a drummer that breaks up with his girlfriend? Homeless. • How many drummers does it take to change a light bulb? Five: One to screw the bulb in, and four to talk about how much better Neil Peart coulda done it.
  14. Same marketing hype as-- calling certain personal electronic devices "Magical" To be fair, REP AR has come a long way. Nothing beats Chief's. The single AR as you describe is most likely a similar process to the Swiss, but without double AR it will have an overly blue hue. In my opinion.
  15. This one is for Freddy333 (wearing the 1680 today)
  16. Ask 10 different people, get 10 different answers. Good advice above, but really, just wear it, let it unwind if you are not going to wear it for awhile -or- keep it on a winder if you are wearing semi-regularly. It is one half dozen or the other as to what causes more wear.
  17. Every time I see or here that Kid Rock video, I think of this: These are NOT necessarily my views, but funny none the less:
  18. I think this varies. I was showing off my Ingod Rail 1665 to Ubi before I built it, and it fell between the seats of his car. It got lodged between the steel seat rail and center console. After 10 minutes of digging it out, there was not a single scratch on it. We were stunned.
  19. If this was his normal transformer, there should have been two complete bezel assemblies, sounds like one is missing? I would not be surprised if BK has a spare bezel with the aforementioned octagon wire installed.
