  1. www.perfect-clones.com is showing Bandwidth Limit Exceeded www.trustytime.com looks to be having a web application problem.
  2. What are the noticable differences between the white letter and DR or is the white letter better since it will be under less scrutinity than the DRSD?
  3. They are partially correct. You can get an idea of the fluctuations here: http://www.kitco.com/charts/historicalgold.html
  4. Oh, I will add that the nail polish does not completely do the trick for me either. However, I do think I am starting to slowly get more "used" to the nickel and was not breaking out as badly as I first was. Benedryl helped as well.
  5. I am thinking just wear it until it develops a serious problem but the wear and tear may be more.
  6. Unfortunately, perfect modern SDs do not exist. The big difference I have always seen right away was the HEV. If you are set on a perfect SD, start out with a vintage MBW 1665.
  7. I am not an expert but perhaps try shipping the case seperately from the bracelets and ship them a week apart? Have both parties mention the contents as watch for repair or bracelet for repair, etc. Good luck!
  8. Your Dad is probably very allergic to nickel as I am. 316L stainless contains 10% - 14% nickel while the genuine 904L stainless Rolex uses contains 23% - 28% nickel so it would be even worse. The allergic reaction is usually brought on by a combination of the heat and sweat. It seems strange how quickly the reaction is brought on. Perhaps try taking the bracelet off and cleaning it thoroughly with soap and water and then applying lots of clear nail polish. Afterwards, see if he can wear it a little at a time in a cool, dry environment and go from there. Either way, it will most likely not be an issue after the weather cools off. Until then, there is always titanium =( Good luck!
  9. Joe, I have been working through issues of my own for the last 3 years. It does not happen over night but things will get better. You have friends here and we will all be here when you get better, I promise! Until then, we all do the best we can and that is all that counts.
  10. So this brings up the question of how to find a jeweler for the replating. The only jeweler I have good connections with is the Patek AD and there's no way I can ask them to replate EL's 3919, LOL. Anyone have advice on how to find the type of company to do the replating? Am I looking for an actual jeweler or?
  11. You scared me too LOL
  12. Take your friend two friends, George Washington and George Washington, and go ask them! Just trying to help you feel better.. the wait must be killing you.
  13. I purchased PT's Ultimate 16610 LV and feel it was fairly represented in the photos. You can read about my transaction here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=6968 You can find other people's transactions here: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showforum=11

  15. Watches are a bit like a young woman to a teenage boy.. they don't really need a working function as long as they look pretty!
  16. Does anyone know how PP applies their AR coating? I have spent plenty of time at my local AD but cannot figure out if the coating is applied to the inside, outside or both sides. Does anyone know? I have purchased a genuine strap for EL's 3919 and am now looking to AR coat it if I could just figure out how it needs to be coated, LOL. I have made good friends at my local AD and afterwards, I plan to acquire a set of springbars for accurate gold color reference. Then bring on the 18K yellow gold replating! If anyone has advice for any of these steps or if you could point me in the right direction to get the plating done, I would greatly appreciate it as well. Thank you!

  20. Thank you, Bill, for bringing perspective to this discussion. You are without question correct in my mind.
  21. I think this is a very good sign
  22. I would also recommend EddieLee's Patek 3919.
