  1. snow and BBQ go hand in hand.....
  2. I have a cartel 111h entry level from a couple of years ago, that has a problem. The winding mechanism seems to be gone. When i hand wind the movement, the seconds hand spins violently and never allows energy to be stored in the mech. I am wondering if there is anyone in Canada that could replace the movement for me?? Do the honorable members have any Canadian recommendations?? Keep in mind that the watch IS entry level... I would like to send it out for a new engine, and maybe a lume job..... any info is appreciated...... ice
  3. so which watches should we be hoarding now?? because unless I can fix my flux capacitor, I likely cannot cash in on the Rollies that we all know and love!!

  6. I am now on the path of discovery... discovery of my lust for all things vintage. I have acquired a 5513 that has been vintaged and slightly modded, and now my focus has become the highly praised 1680. I would prefer something that has been modded and loved by one of the fine artisans on this forum, but these seldom come up for sale. I am now looking toward buying the best "base" 1680 from one of the fine dealers. Any feedback or suggestions?? It seems that through my reading of many posts, every sample has its flaws,( many glaring, others tolerable ). Which 1680 from which dealer offers the best starting point? HELP!!!!

  9. You may also consider visiting the Hackintosh website. Here, they explain how to run os x perfectly on windows hardware. Now that Apple is Intel, a few lines of code, and you can have a Mac Pro at a Dell price. I have been running this exact machine for over a year, without hiccup. If you are serious about a Mac but don't have the dosh, you can build a cheapie, and have your Mac as well!! iceclimber
