  1. Yes - you do - very well put. I think the watch look decent, and quite good, but I guess being on this forum makes me want more. Also I bought other cheap replicas, and perhaps it is 50% chance to be satisfied with these cheap ones, although they are mainly good ones. The Oris at 47mm for this type, I think is too big for me. It seems quite chunky and big. I do not think you are a snob, but I guess you are quite quality-focused. Also I try not to put too much weight on the small details, but want to find something that I like. So I think it is just to keep on buying these cheap ones : ) Sometimes they fit what I want. I am a newbie and need experience and I guess the art is getting translated the pics I see to how it looks when I get it and how I will feel about it But I keep learning, and it is great fun
  2. Thanks - AsciWhite for quick answer and pics! The watch looks quite OK, it is a little bit difficult to see if the dial is blue. Is it blue(blue/turquoise) like the bezel? What is it you do not like about the watch?
  3. I am looking for the same watch. Could you post some pictures, would be very appreciated? Also what do you think about the watch?
  4. This doesn't happen for me neither. Could it be the Options box - (on the right - above first post) is not set as "Standard"? Just a wild guess...
  5. It is a beautiful watch. Although to me, silver is very different from white. I bought the Chopard GT XL "lite". The text and picture said white. The watch has a very silver dial. I love the watch with the silver dial, but to me it's not white. These two colours on the Chopard are very different. On the TAG of course they might be very similar, and as you say it might be the same thing.
  6. The above picture looks white to me, I agree to that, however on the TAG website it is another picture. That one is difficult to see if it is white, silver or silver/white, but the text is clear. http://www.tagheuer.com/the-collection/car...w=CV2A11.BA0796 it is written "silver dial" two times on the above link. (Same link as in my last post.) Quote: "Case: Polished steel case with tachymeter scale on the bezel (black aluminium bezel for black dial, brown aluminium bezel for brown dial and polished steel bezel for silver dial). Domed sapphire crystal with double-sided antireflective treatment" Quote:"Dial: Black, silver or brown dial with 3 registers: chronograph hour at 6 o
  7. I agree with you that the dial is white on King's website, I think the replica has a white dial, no doubt. However on the TAG website it is clearly written at least two places that the dial is silver. What colour you see on the picture white or silver or silver/white is not clear to me. But I trust the text when it says that the dial is silver. I absolutely love the white dial on the rep, but I think it is not accurate. That of course might not be so good, but still the watch is really beautiful - which might be reason enough to get the watch.
  8. I think that is the one with a silver dial. I do not think it is one with white dial. If you read and look carefully at the Tag Heuer website (link: http://www.tagheuer.com/the-collection/car...w=CV2A11.BA0796 ) it is silver.
  9. I have also seen some say that, however I do not know if that is the consensus. I have not found any arguments to substantiate it. I have looked a lot around about these watches, and searched here on the forum and I haven't found much info or opinions. (perhaps there is, however I didn't find it.) I have also looked for some pictures of these gens, and found some. I didn't find any pics of the backs of the watches though. After that my conclusion is that these Ferraris (Panerai) are quite good reps. I think I would go for the one I liked, and I know I will do exactly that I have not found anything to show that FERR0008 is the best. What I found in my limited hunt is that the ones sold at the dealers for approx 300 USD are good replications. The ones for around 100 USD are not - Added later: I think this (non-chrono) USD 158 looks just fine: http://www.jpc8118.com/fe10001-scuderia-00...sia-p-2390.html and I also think I found other non-chronos that looks just fine. Not a very good conclusion So I trust some of the more experienced members here will clear it up..
  10. Cheers and congrats with your new PO - it looks great! The other Seamaster is also nice. I especially like the orange colour on the numbers on the dial. I got the PO lite from Trusty, and it has a more red colour, however a great watch for the money. It is interesting to see the differences, I guess yours also has more correct length on the hands. The Trusty version has a better logo, which strangely is not shown on the website. I love this orange version This is terribly - I feel tempted to buy another, perhaps black bezel..
  11. Looks like a clone site of Trustytime. So this might be no version - just a scam? The web page has Trustytime-name and the picture has another name. Looks very suspicious to me.
  12. Hello from a fellow norwegian, also a noob I have found lots of useful info here and like it a lot. The only trouble is I get to know all these watches I would like to buy Welcome to a countryman - all the best!
  13. Regarding that www.tt88.com sells it. - He might not have updated his webpage. Are you sure he sells it? I am assuming you mean Trustytime? I found it on his webpage, however he says he doesn't have it anymore. This one: http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...;products_id=25 He says he only have this one: (small P&O on the back) http://www.tt88time.com/index.php?main_pag...products_id=164
  14. I am a mechanical engineer, also a noob, sticking my head out.. 304L is a lower grade to 316L, 316L will actually stand for acid, at least some of them and for some time. 904L I think is equivalent to 316L, it has some other components and might be better in some areas. I do not think it is a big difference. I would think the Rolex engineers says 904L is best for Rolex and watches. And others, perhaps Omega engineers says that 316L is best for watches. Strenghtwise they will be the same, also 304L. It will not be worse to have a watch of 304L. Normally we do not get our watches in contact with water, so not a big chance of get in contact with acid. I am in no way a metallurgy specialist, so others might know more about this, just a common mechanical engineer 304 & 316 can be both 304, 304L, 316 and 316L - not a big difference there either. I guess it is the same with 904L. Also all these steels are what we all call stainless steel, which is quite a big category.
  15. Good with confirmation I feel a bit lighter, don't have think about customs(toll).
  16. Nice to meet another Norwegian and thanks for the info jody73! What I find on www.toll.no is that watches should only have VAT(mva) 25%, not customs. Correct me if I am wrong
  17. Yes Not knowing the lingo - I mean Seamaster - The James Bond 40 years ltd... I have seen some very nice ones - one from Precious Time. With swiss? ETA. Is it really swiss? I will send a PM . Thanks!
  18. Thank you for your welcome, FxrAndy Looking forward to visiting the forum more.
  19. Thanks for your answer, interested in what you do? (It might be safe to order from Asia then..) Do you order from Asia or Europe? Do you get it declared as watch and what about the value? Yeah wondering about a Seamaster 40 years , might be another one you are thinking about?
  20. Hello forum members - greeting from Norway! I started searching on the net for replicas, and found this and some other forums. I have read a lot and really enjoyed a lot of the information, especially the tests of the watches. I also have found out some possible places to buy from. Not knowing a lot about the import to Norway, but hopefully there are other people from Norway here? Already I have used a lot of time reading on the forum, and really enjoying it. Also amazed by the beautiful watces here and the amount of work and time some people put in them. First I would like to get an Omega Seamaster. Any advice from other people in Norway?
