  1. Your second hand is slipping on its post as you reset. My Skyland does it all the time.

You can either run the second hand round to 12 o'clock and stop the chrono there ( which will of course mean that you will have the minute counter past its zero position. Or you need to de-case the movement and re-position the second hand. I've seen a fix to this problem on the forum somewhere (perhaps someone could chime in) but it involves removing the second hand and applying glue. Something which I have neither the skill, patience or steady hand to do.

The general advice is to only reset the chrono with the second hand between 10 and 2.

    Hope this helps. :)

  2. Watchgo was one of the first sites i stumbled across when looking for my first rep.

There are a lot of pretty pictures to look at but thats just it, you have no idea of the quality of rep you will receive, if you receive anything at all.

I'm just glad I found RWG in time, it may have saved me from losing a substantial ammount of money.

You see, the collectors that can be found here have built up a reputation amongst our community by usually delivering high quality goods in a reasonable time for a fair price and also rectifying problems that sometimes arrise.

They are then rewarded for their efforts by feedback left by us which in turn increases their reputation and so on.

Just choose a collector recomended by us and you can't go wrong.

When you do get your first rep though, remember , WE WANNA SEE PICS :D

    All the best

  3. Up until a few weeks ago I was a Precision Surface Grinder and Spark Eroder,

( It involves lots of electricity and micro-vapourization of metal in an underground laboratory  ) Muhahaha.

I lied about the laboratory, but its still a really cool process to watch

Thanks alot worst recession since the 1930's

On a positive note though, I am re-training as Quality Control Inspector at a Topless Carwash

  4. One of those 100 lumen led flashlights should charge up the lume rather quick... Thinking of getting one :)

I read this and chuckled to myself. To my right is around 15 Led flashlights all lined up on my table ( All +200 lumen ). This WAS my only obsession untill RWG arrived in my life.

    Curse you Google.

My name is Arniezac and i'm a flashaholic. :p

  5. The chrono second hand on my Skyland has slipped slightly and although its only about a 1/2 sec to the right, its being bugging the hell out of me.

Since I have n't aquainted myself with a local rep-friendly repairer yet, I decided to have a go myself. I know jack about watch maintenance by the way.

A few minutes on the search function and I was armed with enough info to do the job.

Suffice to say I managed to realign the second hand perfectly albeit without the proper tools ( i pushed it round by hand a bit, sorry).

Put everything back together correctly and did n't even have any bits left over.....Brilliant :D

Anyway , the sence of acheivement you guys must have when you complete a project must be amazing and a big thankyou to the more knowledgable amongst us who give their expertise freely.

Hope I can pick up a few more tips . I must have saved myself a few quid tonight.

    Cheers

    Arniezac.

  6. I know its a long shot but did anyone catch Joe last night at the Civic.

It was sold out and was a fantastic night of rockin' blues . Great to see his carear really start to take off.

He's touring the UK at the moment and plays The Royal Albert Hall next month.

Plenty of stuff on YouTube if your not familiar with the name.

    Check him out..........now!

    :band1:

  7. I wish it was a top 10. Picking three is tricky.

Here goes in no particular order:-

The Day The Earth Stood Still ( The Origional , not the pile of 'Barry White' with Keanu)

Carlito's Way (Pacino and Penn at there best )

Dead Man's Shoes (Filmed in the West Midlands on a very low budget, but brilliant all the same)

  8. I've been trying to remove my screws without much success.

Ductape only got one out . I don't have access to radico, so I can't try that.

This is the solution that i came up with.

Square off the end of a toothpick with a scalpel and apply a dab from a hot gluegun onto the end.

Push it onto the head of the screw and allow to cool . Gently pull out screw from bezel.

The screw can then be pulled away from the glue which leaves no residue on the screw or bezel . Completely clean.

  9. great watch....is that a rep strap? i bought a gen rubber strap for mine and the one on your watch looks fantastic

Yeah its a rep strap. It is very good as a moulding, i'll admit. Minimal mismatch, but the flash along the partline is an obvious flaw. Does this appear on a gen strap aswell. Seeing how much a gen strap costs I would expect nothing short of perfection. ;)

  10. I've been a member for a little while now and have just recieved my first rep from Precious Time.

I am absolutley delighted by it. Its actually the first rep I have seen close up and held and I am blown away.

Its not perfect , (I can thank you lot for my education into the small details that are just not quite there yet :D )

As a toolmaker I know what is involved in producing legitimate tools, let alone tooling manufactured using a sample component, and I can tell you that its not easy by any means.

It makes you really appreciate the standards that are being achieved.

Anyway, enough of my waffle, have a gander at my pics.

    Cheers A.
