  1. Just can't shake this one off lately. Don't really want to either. Excellent wristies today people.
  2. Good old Ebay. You'd think they'd take the de-frauding of its members a bit more seriously. Hope I can get in touch with the buyer providing they leave feedback and at least inform them of their error.
  3. Just reported this. http://www.ebay.co.u..._fvi%3D1&_rdc=1 The usual story, no box, no receipt, no papers, poor backstory. I've left the plastic wrap on the braclet for 2 1/2 years though, just to keep it nice and shiny
  4. Congrats on the Lum-Tec. A really great looking brand, which also listens to customers input when designing new pieces. I like the limited numbers too, makes it feel more exclusive. I love em, hears my M33 which I'm thinking of getting fitted with their stealth crystal.
  5. Front and back I've got Bodyguardz (used Invisible Sheilds for years on many products), but recently discovered Bodyguardz. Seems to be just as tough, but they are a lot clearer and less textured than Invisibles which allow the Iphone 4 screen to 'pop' just that little bit more. For a bit of extra protection at work, I slip on an Element Formula 4 case http://www.elementcase.com/Formula-4-Black-w-Carbon-Back-p/api4-1310-kf00.htm Adds very little bulk and looks great.
  6. Everything about this auction looks bad. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Panerai-Luminor-Watch-Black-Leather-Deployment-Strap-/190509538443?pt=UK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item2c5b40dc8b I don't know enough about Panerai Reps to definatley call this one, but..... The date font looks cheap, so does the deployment, in fact it just doesn't scream quality to me. No box or papers, doesn't know if its waterproof!! Blue crystal makes it look expensive, come on!! The low bids surely hint that the bidders know its not Gen. Reported it anyway as it looks like someone is going to pay over the odds for what is probably a cheap rep
  7. I'm interested in a double-sided coating F.F. and well done for looking into this service, for all of us ,'on this side of the pond' Will the coating company strip existing crystals or will that be down to us? Thanks again N.
  8. Well, the replacement watch arrived yesterday and all is fine. The crown is absolutley solid on this one and feels very rigid on the stem, like someone did a proper job in fitting it. I could of repaired it myself, but the watch was brand new with a 3 year warranty. Why should I, when I can get it replaced. The crown was loose as soon as it was unscrewed off the tube, as it was quite wobbly on the stem. I was n't aggressive in turning the crown and am well aware of how gentle you should be when doing so, it was simply assembled poorly and not properly QC'd before leaving the factory.
  9. Pardon me for wanting the right date displayed. I'll know better next time. I could give Greenwich a ring and see if they could set their atomic clocks to my watch instead. Would'nt need the crown at all then. "Has nothing to do with QC" Its got everything to do with it. Thats what its for, to make sure goods are fit for purpose before they are allowed to be sold.
  10. Took delivery this morning of a watch I've been promising myself for a long time. I'd waited till I got back into work after a long spell of unemplyment before taking the plunge. Whats the watch, well, it was an MTM Special Ops Vulture. Not everyones cup of tea, but I absolutley love the looks, the materials and the technology that goes into one. I could n't care less about the claims that its used by the Military, a cheap marketing ploy IMO. I've always loved the look of this type of watch and own a couple of Trasers too. I digress. I opened up the box and saw that although the time was set right, the date needed changing, so I undid the crown, pulled it out to the first position and turned it to alter the date. It started changing a few times and then stopped. So, I pulled the crown out to the second postion to roll the date over by altering the time. The hands started moving, then moved intermittantly, then stopped altogether. I carried on turning the crown and the thing came off in my Hand!!!! The crown had unscrewed itself of the stem. Unbelievable Quality Control on what is, to me, a watch of conciderable cost. Suffice to say, it is already on its way back with the demands of a brand new replacement and hopefully all should be resolved by the middle of next week. So its not just the reps we have trouble with. I did n't even have it long enough to take some quick pics so I've grabbed some of the net to show you, if your not familier with this model. Heres a few specs:- DLC coated Titanium case and Bezel Swiss Made Ronda 509 With Large Date Window Carbon Fibre Dial 3 white Leds 12 UV leds Rechargable Lithium Ion battery for the Leds, charged via USB or mains charger Its a big MoFo too. Case is 47mm without crown and 18mm thick Sapphire Crystal with Ultraviolet Protective Coating ( Not sure what that does, probably stops you getting a tan )
  11. Another vote for Bric from me too. Excellent service from him on my Omega UPO. Uk to Germany, service on an swiss ETA and back to UK in around 3 weeks, there was a postal strike going on at the time too, but no customs issues to worry about as its all done within the EU.
  12. UPO for me today. Really good to have it back on the wrist.
  13. Its really cool how the bezel is manufactured.
  14. Got mine from www.cousinsuk.com and there is Ofrei too.
  15. While you've got everything out of the case, why don't you go for a Gen tube and crown. Relatively cheap and easy to do and its been designed by Omega to do just that, seal.
  16. Black Monster today, and a little play with Photomatix.
  17. I think one of the problems, is that a lot of the time, buyers simply can't be bothered to leave 'good' feedback. I haven't got any, and I'm sure there must be hundreds of other members like me. I've been PM'd thanking me after a sale but nothing posted for the members to see. I'm not dishonest, and I've never ripped anybody off in my life, but proving it is extremely difficult when buyers can't find a single comment about me regarding sales I've made. It seems that we only tend to hear something, if the deal goes bad, and that must be giving us a slightly distorted view of how well things are going in our sales section. Please leave feedback after a sale, whether its good or bad, its for the benifit of everybody who uses this great forum
  18. Good point, thing is, whats the point in paying extra for a premium delivery service, if you can't get your money back if they lose your package. Not everyone keeps receipts for even legitimate items that they send through the post. The fact is, 'they lost' a parcel which you paid a postage charge on which covers upto a certain value, should the postal company fail in their job. The postal company know they lost it, because it was a recorded delivery, and they know it has not been delivered. I think the compensation should be paid out, regardless of what was sent or the value, as Royal Mail failed in a task which you paid them to do. This is the first time its happened to me and probably the last too, and its fortunate that what I sent did not have a high value.
  19. Has anybody made a successful claim with Royal Mail for lost parcels sent within the UK . I've just downloaded the claim form P58 which needs to be filled in and sent off to RM, however, one piece of information that they require, for a refund to be granted, is origional proof of the items value, like a till receipt. To clarify, this item was sold by me to a member, not an item I am waiting on, from one of our collectors. Thing is, the item that has been lost was a rep piece, and we tend not to get bills of sale from our collectors. I can't prove what its value is, let alone divulge to Royal Mail what it is either. So basically, it won't matter if you've sent a
  20. Google translates thus:- Shipping Shipment - DHL Paket International Sent on - not yet shipped goods Tracking ID Delivery Terms I don't know how accurate this translation is but I would n't of thought it was that far off. Hope this helps
  21. Should of stated in my first post that I'm running XP. I've turned off all unecessary progs at startup. Just been digging in the hard drive and found a Kaspersky 2009 folder that did not uninstall and it would not allow me to delete it. I uninstalled 2010, re-installed 2009, then uninstalled 2009 and all the folders have now gone. Are you still with me. I've now re-installed 2010 and am just updating the definitions. I'll see how things go tomorrow now as I've had enough. I'm hoping there was some sort of conflict with both versions on at the same time. Thanks a lot for your input Mickey. I'll see how it goes tomorrow
  22. Good to know your not having problems Mick I paid
  23. I've just renewed my Internet Secrity software. I'd had enough of Norton, so last year I thought I'd see what Kaspersky 2009 Internet Security was like. The affect it had on my computer was remarkable. It booted up in a minute and a half instead of seven, all programs ran better and on the whole I was really pleased with it. So when the subscription ran out a couple of weeks ago I had no hestitation in upgrading to the 2010 software. The transformation again, is remarkable, meaning it has managed to do all the things Norton did badly, only far far worse. Boot up time has hit the 4 minute mark, ALL programs seem to take an age to operate, and a lot of the time they will freeze up, ironicaly, the only one that seems to operate with any speed or purpose seems to be Kaspersky. The internet ( Firefox browser used )has become sooooo slow at loading web pages too. All scans come up clean so I can only say that my computer has been sent back to the dark ages by this new 2010 software. Is anyone else experiencing trouble like this with their Kaspersky?
